I had not logged my Jedi in almost two weeks. I converted and it went rather smoothly. I donned my spiffy new Jedi Robe and proceededto go hunt. I died to a lone Tusken Executioner in about 5 seconds. He "blew my mind" so to speak. I was fullybuffed including dancer/musician.

Immediate 200,000 xp loss and now I'm in the negative. Woot! I'm not complaining but I must have missed that part of the patch notes.

Hi, I have played since the beginning of live, although this is my first post on the forums.

This particular post details a small list of possible solutions that would allow Jedi to play completely PVE, yet not allow Jedi to run around town freely. The point is that these solutions keep Jedi “feeling” more rare, even though the system is still PVE.

Here is the general idea before discussing the possibilities:

Jedi can be a PVE profession, but in order to keep Jedi “feeling” rare, we must reduce their visibility in the areas that are most frequently entered by players. Being a Jedi with a saber out, in the middle of a town, is like being overt, where as running around in the wilderness using force powers alerts no one.

So here are some of the possible Solutions that would allow PVE Jedi, but reduce their presence in towns:

  1. Jedi get a TEF for using their saber or a force power in town.

    1. One option: Only in dev built cities does this apply.

    2. Another option is this TEF occurs in all cities, player or dev built.

  2. Jedi get a TEF for using their saber or a force power within a certain range of a town. For example, if a Jedi is within 500m of Coronet and they use their saber or a force power, they get a TEF.

  3. Jedi get a TEF if “seen” by players. The developers could then discuss the appropriate range at which a player must be at for a Jedi to be considered “seen.” This is not the best option, because players should not be able to grant TEF’s to Jedi, at least not if the system is to remain PVE viable. This could cause exploits to the system, but I am mentioning it nonetheless as a possibility. However, if this choice is considered, there are some options:

    • Jedi get a TEF if seen by a single player of an opposing faction, which smells of exploits.

    • Jedi get a TEF if seen by x number of opposing faction members, perhaps 5 or even 20. This still smells of exploits.

    • Jedi get a TEF if seen by any one person, opposing or not. Again, this smells of exploits and I recommend against this option.

    • Jedi get a TEF if seen by any x number of people, like for example 20 people in the starport in coronet. (Sniff, Sniff, exploits)

  4. Jedi get a TEF if “seen” by an NPC of another faction. Players seeing a Jedi does not grant the TEF, which is probably a good thing if the system is to remain PVE viable. With that said, if there are NPC storm troopers in a Jedi’s local area, the Jedi must be wary as to pulling out her saber.

  5. Jedi get a TEF, again in town etc, if they have their saber out, use a force power, or have their saber equipped.

  6. Jedi get a TEF, again in town etc, if they have their saber out, use a force power, have their saber equipped, or have their robes on.

  7. Jedi get a TEF, again in town etc, if they have their saber out, use a force power, have their saber equipped, have their robes on, or have a Jedi Title above their head.

My own suggestion would be a combination of number 1, 4, and 6, although this post is just one possible set of ideas to fix the problem of Jedi "feeling" to common. There are thousands of posts on the board; sorry if this was mentioned already. This would mean Jedi can play the game completely PVE, up to the force rank system, yet they cannot use their saber around town, or next to a group of storm troopers, without getting a TEF.

Lastly but not least, and unrelated, could you please lower the amount of xp you lose on death. In the previous system it took me about 3 hours to get 100k Jedi xp, perhaps I am slow at this. Dying once now would cost me about 6 hours of play time. I understand we need to have a punishment, and that is awesome, but 200,000 xp points is too high. I would suggest about 1/10 of that value. This would mean, at least for a slow grinder like myself, a little over a half hour, plus time to rebuff etc, to get out of xp debt. More punishment than that is discouraging, and boring to do repeatedly, especially on multiple deaths.

Thanks for making a fun and rewarding game to play.

The Armour Hole Is Back!

Clear enough? Fighting last night every few hits/shots one would go right through and not be reduced at all.

It took you over 8 months to fix this last time, PLEASE sort this out ASAP.

Aswell as the damn delays.

Don't care if this is the wrong thread, everytime someone tries to post about how **edit**ty this publish is it gets deleted, if you're looking at this TH, take notice.

This is the worst publish yet, seems like the devs are just catering to their precious fan boy jedi (only freaking 5% of the community's population) I mean come on, how un star wars can you get. Did you see Luke carrying and beating people with a gaffi stick? Did you see Lord Vader tossing poison at people. How un star wars can you get, this is absurd.

Because of this publish 2 of my guild members are leaving the game, and one of our jedi deleted his jedi because he doesn't want to contribute to the end of this game. Their reasons are that SOE is neglecting the major population of their suscribers and just sucking up to certain groups. Jedi (5% of the population) get 2 freaking publishes before the the combat rebalance (something that caters to the WHOLE server not just 5%) Besides just sucking up to Jedi this patch has stupid updates. 3 seconds to change armor? O that's just 3 more seconds thata jawa using mind spamming riflman can attack your brain while you're switching to a stun helm, and also for the love of god, rid of CM's or put in a simple way to counter them.

I don't think I can take 2 more months of this, DEVS guess what you're ruining this game, and I know a lot of people agree with me.

My jedi robe offers no protection, it should be comparable to 65% composite atleast, if not get rid of them and let us wear our armor. Also maybe you could let jedi wear PSG's?

Also how about letting us pick between black or white for our robes?

robes wielding lightsabers.

exampe given:
In Theed 2 jedi even fought 30 meters besides the imperial branch. Sorry, but this is wrong.
We are in a timeline were jedi are hunted down. Jedi have to hide. They may not use their

powers and reveal themselfes as jedi in public (even see them running around in robes and

wielding a light saber does offend a lot of people).
As devoted Star Wars fan I have to say that this destroys my and other peoples fun and

above all the Star Wars Feeling.
We do not want to see jedi all around and have the Empire standing next to them doing

nothing. It does not fit into Star Wars at this point.

Our passion for the game comes from the passion for the movies. It sad to see that with

every update you move further away from the movies.

Ideas:

- Don't allow jedi to wear robes and sabers in cities (at least not in big or Empire

controlled cities) - Peple hate to see 10+ jedi at star ports

- Have unbeatable Commando Troopers or maybe even Vader himself spawn when a jedis offends

against this points (wearing a jedi robe and saber in big cities)
These troopers may teleport off the scene to prevent having xxx troopers standing around.

- make a filter, a "whole character filter" so one can enter the jedi name and does not have

to see or read/hear something from that char. may give problems if one fights an enemy were

also a filterred-out jedi fights but thats a smal issue.

- make a role-play-only server and allow people to move with items and cash (except jedi).

This may cost a fee (like moving everquest accounts)

- reintroduce the TEF. Every jedi running in big cities wielding a saber +wearing a robe

will get a TEF. Using force powers will give them a TEF.
It does not work to rely on people behave mature. You have to force them to not ruin the fun of the majority.

For my part I have canceled my account. So did 2 of my friends. You will loose a lot more

customers because they want to play Star Wars online not KOTOR (Knights of the old Republic) online.

I agree completely, I am a jedi and I also feel that they have become far too visible. You see them everywhere that you go. Bring back the tef and generate a tef when you where jedi robes or use any force powers anywhere.

Also, the robes are terrible. I agree that Jedi should not wear armor, but if this is the case, then robes should be given far better defensive powers than they seem to have. Anything resembling an MoB can 1 shot kill you with ease.

Issue: Launchpad does a full scan everytimeI try to log in. Waste of my time.

Armor equipping delay. Waste of my time

Weapon switch delay. Waste of my time.

So what are you guys thinking? There are only 24 hours in a day. 10 of those I spend at work, I also need to sleep and eat occasionally. If people were exploiting a bug in the game ban the exploiters do not punish the entire player base for that. It takes over a minute now for me to put on a full suit of armor, gee thanks. Every publish my hopes in this game get dashed more and more. Please for a change listen to the testers and the issues the testers bring up on TC and you would avoid so much grief and actually start to have happy customers.

The combat revamp looks like it will the be all and end all for me and a lot of your customers. Please make sure you do it right and listen to the issues we have before it goes live, then actually do something to fix it.

No matter how hard you complain, it will not make a hill of beans difference... Just close IE and go play... the Devs will not cater to you... Go enjoy your painting..wait.. can't do that, never mind...
