Oh please god no! 3000 items on a character? 5000 items in the bank? 7500 items in a small house?? The databases would be swamped...

Ilike the idea of a droid handler mini class though, sounds fun.

Just to address this issue....

Imagine, if you will, a person with a bank with 100 slots. In each slot there could exist a backpack containing 50 items. Now, we havenot 100 items, but 5000. But let's take that one step further, and put a backpack in a backpack. So now we have 100 backpacks, each containing 50 backpacks, each containing 50 items. So now we have 250,000 items where before we could put 100. Do you hear that? It's the sound of a database dying.

And don't say that no one would do this. People were in beta(to a lesser extent than 250,000), and that is why it is the way it is.

Any inclination as to when we might get /citywarn back in some way shape or form?

I have only spot read a fewposts, so if this idea has been posted, I appologize.

I think the idea of a droid handler profession would work if designedproperly as a "mini-profession".

It shouldbe available to everyone from the start (no skill prerequisites), but actually have owning a droid as a prerequisite, so if somone uses a droid theygain xp in the droid handler tree.

As people use their droids and gain xp,use the same skill point requirements thatelite professions use, therefore requiring skill points to progressfurther up the DH tree, but not requiringthe 15skillpoint sink to get started.

This would allow peopleto use basic droids from the start, but could invest the skillpoints if they chose for more advanced droids and increased functionality.

Something along these lines I think would be a pretty kewl idea, while keeping within the programming requirements set forth by the developers.

Lately I've heard a lot of complaints about macro looting, particualarly in places like the bat cave on Rori (SEAs spawn in the containers there every 27 minutes)

Basically there are macroing characters that camp the container and try to auto loot from it. This effectivly blocks out anyone else from getting loot while making the macroers very rich with no work.

Now instead of banning the people who macro as I have heard suggested, or doing something really bone headed like nerfing the spawn rate (and thus exacerbating the problem) why not kill two birds with one stone and nerf the hordeability and add content at the same time?

For starters Asheron's Call's solution to camping good loot spawns was particularly well done. Basically when you looted a quest item from a static location or quest, you would be flagged and not be able to repeat the quest or looting for a set amount of time, anything from a week (Olthoi xp trophies) to a month (epic quests). It worked well as it hindered camping, quest jumping, and other loot related greif play. The best example was the Overlord quest. The Tumerok Overlord dropped the best loot in the game for a while, and was camped to hell and back. The eventual solution was to remove the loot from the overloard and put it in a chest nearby. The overlord would drop some keys when he died, so that everyone in the group that killed him could get a shot at the loot. The chest would respawn very quickly, so there wasn't a huge wait, and since there was a 1 month timer to be allowed to pick up another key, the camping/killstealing problem ended.

Why not put a similar system into SWG? Take the aformentioned bat cave. Add some novel quest, like finding a lost explorer in the cave or something. As a reward you are given a key that will open the containers in there. The respawnon the reward would have to be quick to avoid lines forming, but once the key is taken and used the player can not repeat the quest for either a day or a week or some other arbitrary time.

This would kill the effectivness of the macroers, givehonest players a fair shot at getting a turn, give the dungeons a reason to be visted, add some content which we are craving, eliminate the ever so boring camping, and cut down on the tickets the CSRs are probably getting from this kinda stuff.

Do this will all the dungeons/caves/complex POIs and I guarantee that it'll renew a lot of peoples interest in the game.

Thunderheart,

I know you and the teams are very busy, and there are a lot of other issues, especially the DE one right now. But ANY information you could spare on the broken Hermit/Hero/Courage/Honor/Intellect/Altruism quests, and the broken location badge for the Aquilish caves, would be VERY appreciated by a HUGE chunk of readers. Even if the only response is that you can't respond to bugs. We've been waiting patiently for 6 months to hear ANYTHING about this. Two months ago in the Test Center thread, you said you would be looking into it, but we haven't heard anything since.

Help me, Thunderheart. You're my only hope.

Considering the level of tech in the game, doesn't it seem strage we don't have either helmets, goggles or scopes that allow for Night Vision? The little light just isn't enough in some places, and if you are a combat class, it would just add to the immersion.

Perhaps even infra-red would be good. Racially you would think that Trandoshan would have something like infra-vision orultra-vision, while wookies would at least have betterthan average nightvision. I'm sure apart from racial modifiers, goggles, binoculars of even a scope that's attached toyourweapon in order to give you night vision could be implemented. Hell, perhaps cerain helms could do this.

It doesn't have to be a true conversion, look at EQ for instance, they have versions of these, that while not great, do help. What are the Devs thoughts TH?

I don't know if any of this has been looked at or if you've had many complaints about house doors but please could we have something done about them. Open Close Open Close Open Close Open Close Open Close.

The slightest movement sets um' off, spent a few hours decorating my house a few days ago and nearly went insane :/ had to turn off my speakerswhich I don't really wanna do.

Maybe make an option for manual open? Which we in turn could make a macro for?

anyway thanks alot,

really enjoying your game so far.

No responses from SOE on the BE issues discussed in this thread for two weeks. I have not made a single pet since the hotfix and reversal. Is the crafting system fixed? Am I guaranteed that I can no longer make pets that will be marked "invalid" in the upcoming publish? The silence regarding the BE changes is deafening. I'm sure I'm merely breathing hot air into a vacuum here, but I hope things have actually changed on the communication frontand it not all just window dressing.
