This problem is still occuring.

Server : Chilastra
Planet : All
Location : Upon arrival to planet specified by Arakyd Probe Droid you will receive a 0,0 waypoint for the location of your mark

Rumor : One rumor is that this problem occurs when the mark being tracked is inside a building. This makes sense since there is another bug in the game in which, if you are located in a building and use the /waypoint command, you will make a waypoint for 0,0 and not for your actual planetary waypoint.

The second rumor is that the droids are also tracking the jedi's main character instead of the Jedi. On one such occasion, the BH was in chat with the Jedi. The BH received a waypoint in Theed near the cantina. The jedi responded that he had not been there for a VERY long time, but that his main character had logged off there.

If the two rumors are true, then the result is that any time a jedi logs his main off inside a building (which is probably at least 90% of the time) then all droids searching for him/her will return both the wrong planet and a waypoint of 0,0.

I havent gotten a 0,0 wp since patch, from about 10 bounties.
although what i have been getting, is the same WP all day. They will log off, so i drop the bounty. Later on i see them on the terminals again, get their bounty. track them and same WP as before.
another thing i've been getting. Is that their WP gets stuck at a shuttle port.

Since, your working on BH droids - why don't you fix the unlimited use bug and make some DEs happy

Depending on which server you are on, it'd make either DE's happy or BH's unhappy.

Server: Gorath

Planet: Endor

Problem: Waypoint not updated

I toked the Mission in Kadaara, the Seeker gives me the message that the Target is on Endor. After arriving on Endor the WP was near the Starport, but there was no target there. I tryed to send a Seeker but theWP was not updated. I telled the target, he tells me that he shuttled to Naboo about a few minutes. I asked him for a test and he returned to Endor and goes 1km from the starport away. I tryed to send another Seeker but he gives me also the same WP by the starport. I tryed both variantes find and find and track. Both gives me the same wrong WP.

TH, thanks forposting onthis problem, I have never had a 0,0 wp problem but i have had this issue:

Server: Shadowfire

Planet: Seems to be everyone of them

Location: Outside Major SP

Problem: I can get the jedi mission and bio. sig, and my probot droid seems to give me the right planet, but after I shuttle in the wp that is shown will not update. I have even tried to use another probe droid and it gives me the same wp. In half of the cases I have tracked the jedi myself and when I find him, I have no TEF on him. This problem has occured on every jedi mission i take, everything seems to be working fine with NPC missions. Hope this helps.

As for the problems it seems that the Arakyd droids are working in that they now point to the planet the Jedi is/was on. I mentioned WAS because even if the Jedi logs the Arakyd reports his last known position. Assuming the Jedi is still on the seekers find the Jedi when on planet. If the Jedi is NOT near a starport or shuttleport or they have not used one to get to their destination on the same planet the seekers seem to update position correctly with a margin of error, which is expected since the Jedi WILL move. Problem is is that if the jedi uses a planetary shuttle the seekers not matter how many are used will always report the last known location to the same shuttle port repeatedly.

Then there is the TEF issue. It seems that Jedi which are neutral cannot be TEF'd by a BH. If the Jedi has a faction affiliation he can be. Then there is the Jedi log off/log on bug where you have TEF Jedi runs and logs. When the Jedi returns even though you have the mission you lose TEF and are forced to drop mission. There is also a problem w/ group TEF. To my understanding it no longer exists for either party to prevent BH or Jedi gank squads. This is flakey at the moment and sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.

Lastly is the loss of TEF during battle. I have no idea how it happens but a BH can initiate the fight on his/her mark and then a few seconds later TEF is gone. This has happened on more than one occassion as well and yet I have NO idea how to reproduce bug as it seems as random as the group TEF thing.

It is my own personal belief (as a few of the more astute posters have observed) that the 0,0,0 waypoint bug was generally a problem that arose from Jedi that were AFK macroing XP inside their houses or other buildings. I've noticed many times that when attempting to make waypoints inside of buildings, etc. that you tend to get a waypoint of 0,0 or very close to that, apparently due to the fact that each house has it's own coordinate system on top of the world coordinate system.

With the new jedi system, for the most part I believe this would be gone. However, a good way to test this would be to get your QA guys to set this situation up:

1.)Have a jedi set up in a house or PA hall or other building with a few people around.
2.)Have this jedi then use force powers to accrue visability.
3.)Then have a BH pull a mission for that Jedi off the terminals and track him.

One of two things will happen:

a.) The BH will be able to track the Jedi to the location of the house, or
b.) The BH will be led to the "relative" waypoint of the jedi (i.e. the jedi's waypoint "in the house")

*by the jedi's waypoint in the house i mean that if the jedi were to create a waypoint in the house, it would make a waypoint with coordinates close to 0,0,0. Verify to see if the coordinates of the waypoint the jedi created (his relative waypoint in the house) are the same as the waypoint the BH has been lead to.

Yes, that is a good possibility with the wp. Happens if you try and make a waypoint in a house as well. Zaps very close to 0,0.

Would it be possible that we could get more info back from the droids. Such as to assist us with this or even for reference the droids would say, waypoint blah [Inside Structure] or waypoint blah [Outdoors]

It isn't a whole lot more info but it is useful fortracking the problem and for BH to have some idea what he is getting into.

Could possible also throw in a variable that gives a timestamp of some sortin the string that gets output. That way if we keep getting same waypoint and same time we know the variable itself isn't being updated. If the time changes then it is likely some other issue.

Server: Shadowfire

Planet: endor

Location (you are at) (x,y): 2481 -468

tracked jedi to 3 differenct locations. Droids updated quickly and correctly as the jedi player moved around.

Just one major hangup I was unable to attack the jedi at all. No tef on him.

The jedi never logged out during the chase and we played tag during the entire hunt.

addendum:

the fourth waypoint never updated and stayed there. The game is over for now. I tried logging in and out myself.

wp for fourth update is 2481 -468 on endor

Message Edited by NeoBlueMaX on 07-01-2004 06:58 PM

last addendum for this post I swear.

He moved off endor and I tracked him to coronet and from there to Theed.

Aside from the lack of a tef, droids are working for me.

Yeah - droids only show the last starport they left from and then it doesn't update from that.

Verified by myself today. Bounty was online and the waypoint showed him at Yavin IV south-west outpost; I threw a few seekers and they all kept updating that location; I threw an arakyd and it updated the same location; bounty dropped.

I took two bounties. One Jedi logged off and I believe that my seeker pointed to the log out spot

2nd Mission the seeker pointed at the Shuttleport the Jedi left from. All future seekers and probes pointed to the Shuttle port.
