Right, from what I have read TH has it wrong. That may be another bug, but there is a more important one - basically items aren't even getting to the 30 day limit and going to the storeroom - they are disappearing about 14 days after being placed on the vendor.

And the first post I ever read of this bug, said she had made a vendor post patch, put items on it post-patch and 14 days later they were gone.

Actually, I read one post - either in one of the locked threads, or on the merchant forum, that confirmed that it is EXACTLY 14 days.

So, the work around is to pull items out of the vendor completely and then put them back in every 13 days.

Of course, if you have a few hundred items, this can be rather difficult - especially since the housing limits were never raised.

I have two vendors. Each one has about 40-50 droids in it at any given point in time. One is in a tent, the other in my house, which is at 147/150 items.

Right now, there is a shortage of merchants due to the holochron craze and other merchant problems.

This is a game buster. If the hard core merchants who have worked since day 2 to get a great inventory are destroyed by this, we will wind up with no one to provide the goods and services that the rest of the game needs to function.

As it is, I dodged a bullet on this one. I moved one vendor from an emporium type shop to a tent, and had to remake the other one - when I moved into the player city of Riverveil, I spelled my vendor name "Sketh's House of Drids" - must have had a cold that day - so, had to re-set up that vendor. If I hadn't lucked out like this, I would have lost everything.

For those merchants who got fully wiped out by this, my condolences.

Thunderheart, please, please, please read the threads before you lock them down. Your description of the problem is just not accurate.

TH--

I have lost more than 2.6 million resources due to this bug in the past 24 hours. I put them up when the 30 day sales went in after the city patch. They have never reached the stockroom. They went from my bank to my inventory and backpack straight to my vendors. I keep a spreadsheet of my inventory and check it daily against sales emails to stay up to date on my stock. When I checked today, I was missing thousands of auctions of lots of 500 resources. I can't simply go out and replace these items. Most of these are resources for doctors and combat meds (Such as Class 4 Liquid Petro, Herbivore Meat, Lok Wild Wheat and Dantooine Berry Fruit, etc....) that phased out months ago. They simply can't be found everywhere.

I have submitted a ticket, #1329150, detailing the exactly the resources I have lost, what type and specific name, as well as how many of each unit.

So the issue you are detailing isn't affecting me yet, and I would guess no one else with the similar problems.

TH, this is NOT the problem. We have been living with the stockroom to vendor for only 7 days bug for weeks now. This is inconvenient but it is NOT the problem!!!!!! I would wager that EVERY merchant knows by now you need to sell from your inventory to get a 30 day timer.

We need a fix to the stuff that just up and disappears from the venders for no apparent reason.

To all you who have venders out there, you better strip them down now because it is apparent that this is not going to be an easy fix. They are JUST NOW finding out about the 7 day stockroom bug!

This is not what's happening. We haven't even had 30 days pass since the last patch in order for items to fall off auction and goto the stockroom. We've had only a couple weeks pass...and 14 days is the magical number. After 14 days, not 30, all items sold from inventory, not stockroom, disappear. It has nothing to do with the current 7 day sale from stockroom bug (which in itself is annoying).

This is the bug, and it's something that can't wait for an update. The 7 day stockroom surely can wait. The 14 day vanishing of items can not....but it would be nice to hear that the developers actually understand the issue that we are reporting.

TH Congratz on thoroughly reading the posts on the issue at hand...

You have indeed suggested to take a course of action wich will actively REPEAT the known issues.

please fix it soon, the losses are very very high at this point.

As an addendum, I also don't believe it's even possible for something to have hit the 30 day limit, since I believe the '30 day change' came 19 days ago. This would of course also mean that the 37 days which it would take for an item to disappear via the methodology that Thunderheart described can't even remotely have passed.

Given that information has been flowing in since Saturday I am not reassured by the complete failure to post even vaguely accurate information on this subject.

I'm not a dev or anything but until this is hotfixed or patched the solution is obvious:

--------------

VendorWork-Around

Every Thirteen (13) days, in order to keep you stock from disappearing you must completely flush your vendors contents and repost them. This means withdrawing everything from sale, then removing it from the stockroom in as large an amount as you can (Remember anything drawn that cannot fit into your inventory will be lost in the transfer), these items should then be reposted to your vendor and should, IN THEORY, be safe for another 13 days.

---------------------

Of course, this is about 20 parsecs from being an optimal solution, since anyone with alot of stock knows this will take a lot of time. But unless you have enough storage space elsewhere, and are comfortable having an empty vendor, it seems the only way to go.

BTW: Thunderheart if I remember correctly the notes on vehicles said it'd be 2-3 weeks before they were patched in. Are we seriously just supposed to grin and bear it until that time, or does the code team just have no idea where this flaw was introduced, or (more likely) where the14-day datecheck is occuring?

This is extremely disheartening. It would make me happy to see some sort of in-game recognition for living through some of these agonizing issues you have wrought on us. There could be a "I survived theInventory Eating VendorBug of 2003"game badge. If we were receiving double payment for all items sold on vendors would it need to wait for the vehicle patch? You always prioritize programming to prevent a very small percentage of exploiters from benefitting versus fixing things that the vast majority suffer from or are getting reverse-exploited on.

What are you going to do in game to compensate us for these problems?

I've had items disappear that were placed, after the last publish, into the vendor from inventory. The countdown timer started at 30 days. After less than 30 days, the items disappeared from my vendor. They did NOT go to the stock room first, I did NOT get an email saying the auction was unsuccessful. The items disappeared directly from the For Sale list.

I made up a couple of thousand t-shirts a few weeks ago and put them on my vendor..... oh wait.

Heh.

I'm actually thinking of making t-shirts, they'd make for neat backpack stuffers if nothing else. Though sadly given the storage issue I'm not sure how well that'd work out .

Agreed.

It's nice that this is finally getting attention - but if the attention is full of wrong information and nothing but a "keep your chin up" while we ruin your game and all your hard work - it's not very nice attention.

And it's not the only problem, and if this is all they know about the issue - time to empty your vendors, everyone.
