Well, that part didn't surprise me - since they also took from that discussion that we "were very clear in indicating" that we wanted a Droid Handler profession.

I just really, really, REALLY hope they change the name of this patch. I don't care if it's the ground work for Droid Handler or whatever - then call it the "Droid Foundation". But "Droid Invasion" is going to be a huge, sad, joke if it actually goes in that way.

Seriously, people in-game think that there are these mythical fabulous sexy combat droids just waiting to be made - and many of them don't believe me when I try to explain to them that it's not happening. "You must be mistaken, " they say, "this is the DROID INVASION! Droidekas are coming!"

So please, I've accepted the fact that this is what we get (and made the decision that after the patch I will no longer be a DE), but come up with another "theme" for this Publish, or just call it "Publish 7".

Calling it a "Droid Invasion" is not even just misleading, it's disgraceful.

Herr ... maybe i do not exactly understand your sentence but if machines break alot faster than most wild animals why are we using car instead of horse why are we using tank instead of elephant ? something made of steelis stronger than something made of leather, chitin, or any animal component. that is why a composite armor is stronger than a chitin or a bone armor ...

Droids and metal made creature should be more resistant than a same sizeanimal creature...

I just read that the BLL's are NOT combat capable on the Droid Engineer forum. I was hoping that this patch would actually set a purpose for these things. Yes, they only have one laughable module slot, but even with minimal damage they could have been a decent seller as a tanking unit for DE's.

I guess I will now start making 10 item inventory BLL's and sell them for some rediculous price due to the serious amount of detail components that go into these things.

I have reviewed this thread up to this point. I will be working with the Combat Droiddesigner and the Creature Balance designer and evaluate what we need to do to ensure a CL10 droid is on par with a CL10 pet.

I think right now there are two main concerns about combat droids

1: That the combat modules seem to be giving no increases when stacked, meaning that currently the modules to make a probot would render a probot droid that is far less powerful than it is now for more resources. Is this intentional or is this a bug with the modules stacking.

2: This is one of the most pressing concerns. As it stands the combat capable module slotsseem to be far to common in droids that are combat enables (For example the R series droids, these should have a maximum of 1 combat module per droid, rather than 6 combat modues maxin the case of the advanced R3) Most DEs are worried about this as we are concerned that we will not be getting any "proper" CL10 combat droids because of this.

Also, is there any info on other things that haven't been mentioned in the patch notes but are concerns of the Droid Engineers (Such as having +1 NON-Combat droids out at the same time, as it is a Master Droid Engineer with a repair droid can repair any droid but their own) and the bugs that are still in effect (Such as item storage in surgical droids not working etc)

Sorry guys, but this won't do. I was considering waiting for this'droid invasion' stuff before dropping DE, but obviously there is no point. *looks for next profession*.

This is frankly DIGUSTING. A BE can make a creature with 2-4K hams, and 100 damage, that is CL10. Now you're shafting the DEs, limiting us to droids that do 50 damage, with 300 hams. Good work..You've just guaranteed this game is gonna stay Pokewars, exactly what you keep screaming you don't want.

We should be able to make droids with 2K hams max, med armor, and 100 damage, plus a DOT attack. Equal to a top-grade BE pet. Less ham, better armor. Let's face it, machines break alot faster than most wild animals would, but damaging a chunk of metal is no easy feat, espc if it's made so you're not gonna be damaging it easily.

Probots should have 6 spots for weapons.

Astromechs should have 1 spot (R2 DID have that little zapper he got the monkeylizard iN jabba's throne room with...basically a level 1 weapon module)

Humanoid droidsshould have a custom module, so that they actually hold a weapon. It would have a skill rating, as appropriate for a type (a level 1 would let it hold any non-cert weapon. a level 5 at master would let it hold any level 4 weapon cert). That's because 3P0 shouldn't have a Death Star laser on his chest..but there were humanoid droids in the films that used rifles (IG-88, and 4-LOM come to mind)

to balance it, lower the max armor on a humanoid droid to light, same as a human can wear. So, a Protocol could be made with light armor, and 2K hams, and armed with a E-11 carbine or something. They wouldn't ever do specials, so max damage would be the base max damage of the weapon, period.

I picked up DEon another server, and am nearly master, because I always liked the droids, and heard the DEs were finally getting some attention. If this is the kind of attention we're getting..Go back to nerfing the Commandos and leave us alone man!

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

This is what the DEs wanted right? To bad we can't bring droid handler back....No one will use these CL10 combat droids after about a month.

Are you balancing the droids against a BE CL10 pet, or a non-BE CL10 pet? Surely the target heremust bethe BE CL10 pets.

Does anybody actually USE any CL10 pets that aren't BE pets? I know I don't, nor would I ever consider it -- particularly considering that when I traded in my beetle I was given a feeble kreetle in exchange. If combat droids are intended to be on par with a non-BE CL10 pet, then why bother working on them at all?It would be a wasted effort and a veritable bust. Furtunately for us, you're smarter than that and wouldn't let that happen.

Why in the world are astromechs being usedas combat droids? Please tell me that's a bug.

As a DE optimist these results worry me greatly. If this patch doesn't go smothlyI worry greatly about the future of the Droid Engineer profession.

I do welcome the droid repair kits, They will help with the marketability of the Probot and DZ70. However when the average player sees an R3 or an R2 unit, the do not see a combat droid, they see a utility droid. Our customers will expect our astromechs to have medical, item storage, and other abilites. If the only way to make a good combat droid (on par with CL 10 BE pets) is to use all 6 mods on the r3 unit, our worst fear will be realized, the astromech with an CDEF taped to its dome.

The combat mods were not what I was expecting as with most DE's. Perhaps if the mods could change the type of damage they do, giving more uniqueness to the droid. Also i was hopeing for more defensive measures such as perhaps a shield generator or another type or armor moduel. Also

Don't let the negitivity of some of my fellow droid engineers put you off, you all have worked hard, and it shows. Just please don't let it end like this. Us droid engineers have been visioning combat droids on par with CL10 droids since the Probot nerf. Please allow us to have products with the same quality as a Bio-Engineer.

Just give me an address where i can send kickbacks to
