Thread: Weekly Rountdable Discussion (Week Ending 1-18-04)
Ok let's repeat this again for the 5000th time...The players-to-players dont need a roundtable the SWG discussion forum worked fine. We need a player-to-Dev roundtable. So where are the Devs? So if this is really a player-to-dev medium, why do we need the profession correspondents if the Devs are having round tables? Seems to me they over write each others work.
I wonder if the devs are reading this, ahh well I guess we may never know but still here it goes...
Are there going to be any new droids, such as battle droids, that can help ease the creature handler monopoly on the ability to take on big creatures?
Is there any news on the space expansion?
Will there be a way to get mandalorian armor? when?
Is there any possibility of giving jabba, and other such npc's one more mission so that the people who completed the missions before the badge system came into place can get the badges?
Please let us know that we have been heard, thank you
Please bring back the SWG Discussion forum.
It was the only informative and entertaining forum on this board. This thread seems useless. No one ever addresses the issues posted the previous week so I don't understand why each week there is a new thread with the same players posting issues that , once again, no developer ever addresses.
I can understand the devs being busy and not having time to respond. TH seems to have a pattern of posting for a bit, then laying off for a bit, then coming back with a load of info. Sometimes it takes him awhile but that's how it is I assume.
However...if we don't start seeing some good feedback by Sunday then there is a big problem. I just hope it won't be a chronic one...
Hate to say this, but what is going to happen is the playerbase will migrate to an unofficial forum where they can rant and rave to their hearts content and word of mouth about this game will bring it to the public front.
Masses moving to unofficial forums will not be controlled by SOE. They may not have a direct pipeline to the devs, but then again, we don't have onehere either it seems.
I bet this has already been posted several times, but here it comes again. Wookie armor that's all i'm saying. I don't think it's out of line with Starwars. Oh yeah and bowcasters suck, how about make a super bowcaster that is available at novice rifleman, anything would be cool. Thx
This is absolutely ludicrous.
Having one thread to encompass all issues in SWG. Now all you get is one gigantic thread with a mish-mash of ideas in it with no concrete topic or train of thought.
This is the better more focused communication we were promised?
Seems to me like a way to finally get people to give up and stop posting.
There is no way this thread can in any way be deemed as constructive. There are lots of good ideas but the format is severely lacking.
Can we please fix the GCW
- Covert shutdown of bases about to blow up
- /declare within 50 meters and shutdown all at the same time to stop the base destruction
- shooting thru the walls of bases (and other buildings for that matter) (shooting into and out of the bases)
- Line of sight
- Improve the AT-ST a little in their resists, but leave it PvP only, also allow the AT-ST to be repaired at a Garage if needed.
- reduce the range of CM to a max of 32 m and theRadius of 10m for their AE, thus allowing them to AE up to 42m max, stop disease/posion AE from going thru walls and floors.
- Bring Faction armor up to par with player armor to some degree..right now they are novelty items only.
- Fix the Imperial Hat (delete old one and make an new one, and put in a trade option for the recruiter to take in the old hat and give a new one)
I see zero communication. This is crap.
Maybe then we'll have fewer rollbacks due to the janitor tripping on the cord and spilling the last deck of cards on the floor.
Undercover Blues
Anybody who's a blue dot with a DeadEye storyline badge is99% sure to befrom the opposing faction. With player cities in effect, players identified with the opposing faction are open to abuse and harassment. There needs to be more ambiguity in what lies behind a blue dot.
Likewise, if I'm buffed by a Doctor or Dancer/Musician, or high on spice, I don't want my enemy to know that. All anyone has to do is target me and put their cursor over my HAM, and voila, they see my exact stats. So much for staging a sneak attack, or letting anyone wonder if I'm a drug-addled killing machine under my soft-spoken demeanor.
Harvesters with our business or name on them also tip our hand by showing Factional affiliation, and for no reasonI can understand - our houses don't do that, so od harvesters count as pets?
Finally, some PAs are instantly associated with a certain Faction. That's a killer for surprise PVP situations and/or walking around unmolested, because others can look at you and know where your sympathis lie without even hitting /examine.
Four proposals:
1)Permit us hide our badges so no one can see them, like the title system.
2) Make precise HAM stats unviewable to anyone not in your group, but alloweveryone to see the HAM bars themselves to get a general idea of your vulnerability.
3) Permit us to hide PA tags so no one can see them, like the title system.
4) Do not indicate factional affiliations on harvesters.
These four changes would give us a better chance at staying anonymous, and would protect both Coverts and people trying to obscure their precise strengths (and weaknesses).
