What reward would motivate you to do a long, hard quest or dungeon?

Half the reward would be just having a cool place to visit and some bad arse fights in it. I'd like to see more dark, sinister complexes with multiple routes, floors, rooms, etc - something more like a scaled down Jedi Knight level. The captured royal family site you added recently was a good start, but something bigger than that which you can really explore would be its own reward. I love some of the architecture and lighting you guys put into the recent rebel HQs we can build, how about putting that kind of atmosphere into some really hard dungeon settings.

As for actual rewards, XP is good if u don't want to give us rare loot. Mainly though, if you don't want to ruin the economy, why not award players with reasonably good weapons and items that are slightly less powerful thanwhat players can build, but aren't craftable. So they don't negate all the work the crafters do, but are at least somewhat rarer and give the game a little more depth.

How about an uber powerup?

A stim that will increase vitality on a wounded pet? (so your 95/95 pet returns to 100/100)?

How about a weapon repair kit that repairs even sliced weapons?

Armor and weapon parts that can be taken to a weaponsmith to make yourself a sweet weapon?

A stack a food that has really nice buffs.

NOTE: all of these are consumables...

Shuttle ticketsthat lead to locations that are inaccessible in any other way.

The locations might be dungeon planetoids, dangerous resource rich moons (in environments in which harvesters cannot function), hidden Imperial/Rebel bases/ships to destroy/sabotage, Smuggler bases (to either raid or do lucrative delivery missions back to the main worlds).

Finding such a ticket means you'll be able to have a rare adventure not everyone else can have simply by choice.

1. I like the furniture idea, something nifty and unusual (e.g. paintings, table, speakers, unique stuff).

2. Dropped items that can be used by crafters to make something better, e.g. 30% krayt scales, HQ Krayt tissue type of drops. Keeps crafters in the loop and makes for an exciting adventure with a good risk vs reward loot (as long as the component is actually worth while). As a mater armorsmith I would not "feel" these type of drops inhibit my profession, they add to it as I still need to make the item and use my other resources to do so. Right now allgood guns NEED krayt tissue, but only one type of armor segment (the 30% Krayt) is superior to segments I can make in my factory, and they are so rare I have only seen8 of them (make really nice 60% Krayt Composite with "reasonable" encumbrance). The 10% are useless, the 20% are decent, but not any better than I can make (i make unsliced nonlayered 51-55% already). How about moreCOMPOSITE segments types or some nice Ubese segments that actually work (Adc Ubese is bugged atm btw). Scales should be nice after the next patch fixes the layering bugs though (assuming it really does) BUT it is a BIG pain to have to use them at segment creation, how about moving tem to the final combine??

"Every publish has seen an improvement on loot table and rewards"

LOLOLOLOL

LOOT HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR WEEKS!!!

I have killed thousands of NPCs and monsters

1. No locked containers

2. Can't loot if grouped!

3. No skill enhancements or weapon parts

4. You have to kill thugs to get faction disks?!

5. Killed 10 Dark Jedi Masters, only one had a weak bowcaster, the rest had either no loot of a little credits!

I like the idea of special schematics that a Master Crafter of the appropriate profession could then use to make a special item.

This need not necessarily be "uber" armor or weapons, but maybe something to "show off" - that just looks pretty and/or has a special name but is not necessarily much better than regular crafted stuff.

Important: those schematics should be for *all* crafting profs.

Right now there are special enhancements for armor and weapons and some for clothing (but those are still bugged afaik) - the special schematics should be also for tailors, DEs and all other crafting profs.

For non-craftrs there could also be special drops - no need to be uber - just special - Paintings, plants, deco items, what have you....

Fame! I want to live forever!

Some form of public recognition, according to some kind of criteria that allows other players to see who is excelling in their profession. Like Electronic City Billboard Displays. Name the player, what he/she has achieved.

With fame comes areputation; this is an idea which has been discussed and considered in the bounty hunter forums. Worth a look IMO! In practical terms it means that specific to your profession, you are able to gain a temporary bonus of some kind. With regards to combat professions, the idea was forpeople with a reputation to be immune to faction attacks while running past NPCs (level dependent) due to the NPC realising that if he attacks this guy, he is gonna get whoop-assed!.

Reputation might be based on a cumulative level of success. ie how many missions in a row have been succesfully completed determines what level of NPC/intelligent creature actually avoids attacking you. And likewise in the event of a failure, you would then lose your cumulative rating by a factor of 10 perhaps.

So if you had completed 100 missions in a row say, you would have a reputation of 100 which would then represent say a factor of .2 for instance, meaning you would be able to run past NPCs up to level 20 (100 x .2). However if you were to die on your next mission, you would lose reputationby a factor of 10 (ie.. your reputation would be reduced by 10 for each death) consequently your reputation would then drop to 90 and you would only be reputable to NPCs of level 18 instead of 20.

How about a random Part - and you have to do lots of missions to get a rare drop

For example

I do Mission a) and get Stock for uber rifle

I do mission b) then I get Barrel for uber Pistol

I do mission c) I get pistol barrel again

But...

here is the key they all have serial numbers on them...so part of the quest is to find where the others have been given out and to whom

So I get 1-4 rifle part and Jim Bob on Endor gets part 2-4 and 3-4

Jim Bob is going to look for the part...maybe give him hints or just let him post to find it

Next once you get all the parts you have a NEW mission that makes you travel over every planet and do 3 missions per each planet...at the end you meet UBER Weapon Smith that crafts your gun.

Now for the crafters...have each stop..require that on the 3rd mission you get a crafter to make a part for the NPC mission giver

As for the gun make it...Just as good as an average crafted gun...but make it degrade UBERfast and have a bonus to hit..so it is still uber.

Just my 2cr

How about an "epic" type quest for each profession, but you have to be a master to get the quest to begin with.

As a reward for this make it something unique to the profession, like a new skill. Maybe something similar to vitalize, or an extension of current skills (mindshot 4, unarmed shot 4 etc...)

One of the most fun days I spent, was doing missions for junk to decorate my house. I would love to see more NPC award nicknacks and furnishings. Some suggestions are: a small fountain, different kinds of plants (colorful flowers etc), paintings, and rugs. I think most everyone would enjoy new things.

Harder missions: Schematics for particular professions. Being a tailor, I can only suggest what I would enjoy...I would go after wedding dresses, tux jackets and pants, veils, cowboy hats, colorful boots. You'd need to decide if you would allow that tailor to put it into their datapad and keep them forever, or if they would disappear after so many uses.

I'm certain each profession has something they'd want.
