As it is, we have a program coming that will be beta tested for just obvious bugs, no input on any major changes since they will be coded already. A la JTL beta, where all we did was look for bugs, any major revisions were left by the way side.

Actually, the Reverse Engineering system underwent a major revision during the beta testing of JtL.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

TK,

Ok, you came off a little snobbish in your reply.

Obviously, that wasn't my intent. Perhaps I was (in my own way) trying to be thevoice of reasonin what is understandably a very contentious topic. /shrug

That's out of character for you. Remember, you're not the only pre-launch and live vet around.

Now, I acknowledge that. However, I am one that's been fortunate enough to have seen both sides of the 'fence'. As you well know, I used to be a one heck of a negative voice in regard to communication and railed very much on this very type of topic. I would hope that those that feel the same way understand that my perspective is 'flavored' with that of one that has been where they are...but has also seen what they have not.

Take that for what it's worth, all.

Now, back to the actual point...

I would agree with you more if there was more of a proven history of change and implimtation of said changes.

Can you give an example? I would think (put respectfully) it would be useful info for Cal to have...

One thing I have as a change that was addressed: The end of the holo-grind. Players saw it was an issue and the Devs addressed it. It may not have been what everyone wanted, but we all know that no solution could have been.

Also, part of the credability problem comes from promises of information. Not actual information releases, but promises of information that never comes.

Yea, that's a pet peeve of mine too.

As an example the big Combat Balance doc that was going to happen after the corr summit. Yes, I know that things changed after that and they changed direction on the revamp. SOME things have been promised with no conditions attatched to that promise and then fallen thru.

And I think Cal's addition is a valid attempt on their part to see that less and less falls thru. However, I suspect that the decision on if/when to release information isn't his and his alone.

The main promise that has fallen thru that flustrates many of us is a promise of action. Plans have come, plans have gone, plans have been brought back...

Or...as JustG has told us many times: "Things change."

Is that what they should change? Only ever release info or make posts on things that are 1800% set in stone? I ask in all due seriousness.

I don't think any of us really want to hold them to that standpoint or we'll see less 'info' than we do now.

What we're here to try to get across is how to get communication flow from them to us better.

Changes in those plans bother people a lot less if they see progress being made.

Okay...but...what are "those plans"? Can you give examples so you and I are on the same page?

If I understand correctly, your position is that the devs should be quiet until have have progress to show.

Mmmm...yes and no. I don't want them to be 100% quiet. But at the same time, I think some people here have unrealistic expectations with regard to the level/amount of information or progress that's actually possible or advisable. It's the latter point that I feel like people find hard to see.

My position is that I would still like to recieve information from the devs so I have a measuring stick of their progress.

Okay. But what if that information was...."We haven't made progress on that yet."

That's informaiton. But you know and I know that people would rip them apart for bringing that forward and being honest about the situation.

How can that be addressed? I just don't see a way...
