That would let you move in armies of safe people to the location of a fight, and have them all go overt at once and ambush...

How about - One can go overt anywhere outside the "city limits" at will and it then takes going to a recruiter to go back to covert. This way with the removal of Revenge TEF's there is still a realitvly rapid way for people to get back in the fight without the exploitablity of the revenge TEF.

i think keeping the declaring overt the same thing but when someoen dies allow them have the ability to go overt or covert. If they go overt anyone is free to kill them by doing this it removes "revenge" tef. This way if they dont want to lose faction points they wont go overt. Also, they will have the choice to go covert when they decide not to fight. Then they would have to go to anchor head or bestline to redeclare.

The system now is horrible. If i die iw ould have to go all the way to anchor to declare and go to bestline then find out 10 people are waiting there to shoot me. then rinse and repeat. I dont like walking 2000m just to fight something that i cant win. By removing the whole TEF system it completely killed my interest to go out and fight. Maybe ill just become a crafter.

also maybe its a good idea to only allow that choice if a person has over a certain amount of faction points. This way, if u lack the ammount of faction points you automatically lose overt status. This will prevent dumbos that keep coming back and not caring about faction points

Real simple, stop letting rebels respawn in towns that are supoosedly Imperial! When the rebels invade Bestine and simply respawn in our own town facility then they are getting the full support of the town. Is this or is this not a struggle of out of power REBELS against the established IMPERIALS? So far, seems to me that the rebels get all of the advantages because they want to go on hunts. Most of the imperials want to explore the game more rather than have these constant fights that are impossible to win because rebels have much more of an advantage in the declaration game.

Make the rebel respawn facilities SECRET. Here's a thought, let us hunt down and destroy the rebel respawn buildings in town! Let us hire bounty hunters to locate them! Perish the thought of real covert play.

I think /declareOvert within 50m of a recruiter is a step in the right direction. However I do not believe it will solve the problem of recruiter camping. In my opinion you should add an npc presence in the area of the recruiter (squad of stormtroopers, or at-st, etc) in addition to the /declareovert command.

Please DO NOT allow people to declare anywhere and DO NOT allow high ranking players to declare others overt. This would bring back the problems we had with revenge tef.

What about those who dont want to pick sides but want to kill both sides? I'm a bouty hunter and i would love to be able to go overt aginst any side i want. After all who ever pays the best wins my gun. Same should go for smugglers. There needs to be some way to do this.

How about player bounties? it would be cool to take out a bounty on some one who stole your weapon.

another issue we want to see i know off subject, butthere is no way to tell if a weapon has been sliced when buying it.

Great idea, now that TEF Revenge is gone ppl are camping recruiters so this would atleast let you do it with out being very obvious of what your doing, and give you some room.

I personally like the idea of being able to /declareOvert anywhere at anytime, but like it was stated it could be abused to move a large or even a small force into an area and all use it at the same time to get in a sneak attack, or even used in the wild if you see someone and want the jump on them..

A simple solution would be to make it so that the command couldn't be used within a radius of say 256 - 512m of an opposing Overt faction member, however keep it so you can do it within the 50m radius of the recruiter anytime no matter who was around.

Another good place to allow it at anytime would be in your declared residence, Only you would be able to declare in it and since you can only have one declared residence it wouldn't be able to be abused since it takes a week I believe to change residence.

Bleh - letting people /declareovert at will is asking for the same problems as the revenge TEF had.

If people are camping recruiters... its the DIGIT (insert faction member here's) fault for going overt in front of them... period!!!

Same as it was stupid for people to fight back against the revenge TEF griefers... (you know who you are)

If your "recruiter" is surrounded by stormies or whatever... do you really think he'd MAKE you attackable? Not if he was a good field agent... hehe.

Declare where you can - move to fight somewhere else.... if you hold it fer a while - you won... if you go in and DIE - bad choice of fight locations... (heh)

Whats wrong with an ambush, I being former marine learned all about this tactic. If it is good enough for real life combat why isnt it good enough for a game? Thats part of the danger of being overt isnt it. You never know when it is coming or from where so you need to always be ready to defend yourself.

How about a command that automatically makes you overt regardless of the distance? shouldent some one be able to just declare? what i a covert rebel/ imp decides now is the time to pull out the blaster and go, han solo style? i have never understood the need for the npc other that to turn in points or go covert.
