Thread: Most annoying text bugs?

When you activate a waypoint, you can no longer read the text for that wp in your datapad. This drives me nuts. I don't know why, probably because it is such a simple bug to fix and yet it is not done. Kudos to Q for making this list and checking it twice and even beginning (?) to attempt to fix some of these.
Have you tried turning on the waypoint indicator listings? Err I forgot what the option is really called. It let's you display your waypoints better with range. Then you disabled the on map pointers. It's nice and clean.
Most of the annoying Text Bugs I see are the problems with Combat Spam. Especially How combat Spam does not reflect Armor Ratings, Accuracy, MOB Resists. Nothing is more disconcerting when it says "Your flamethrower hits the AT-ST for 2000 damage" And only see 100 or 200 damage in the HAM. It would help the knowledge of the Balance of the professions if Combat Spam reflected the actual Damage caused to the MoB.
As a Part Time Pikeman I would like to see myself Block a shot not Counterattack. Even though I do block the attack, The Spam says I counterattacked.
The last problem I see is the AoE bug and its results in Combat Spam. It says I hit 4 different creatures for damage but only one shows Damage. While this is more than a text bug it is text related.
"Joe has removed themselves from the guild."
With Joe being the character name.

Just change it to "Joe has left the guild"

The title bug where if you ever set a title the next time you log in that title reappears. That and all the Commando titles do not make any sense.
One other issue dealing with text I started in a new thread over here in the core issues forum:
Spacial Spam (Flood Control)
I already told KStarfire about this in the Core Systems forum. He took note of it.
Here's the situation:
You have a profession title set and then switch it to something else or select "No Title."
The next time you log in, the title you switched from is displayed.
Example: I have the title Novice Medic displayed. I select "No Title." I log out for the night. When I come back on the next day, I have the "Novice Medic" title again.
Also, If you display a profession title and then select "No Title,"and youthen drop the profession entirely, you still have the profession title displayed.
Here's a bug report text bug:
I've submitted a LOT of bug reports since vehicles came out.
1. type /bug
2. select the Mounts/Vehicls category.
3. go to the subcategory pull down menu
there is only one option on that menu:
Mounts
Last time I checked was August, but one of 3PO's missions had the word "wrong" spelled as "worng". Cleary rhis is incorrect. ![]()
"You have taken 1 shock wounds."
I know what shock wounds are, but some people may be confused.
