I'm annoyed that there is, again, no real penalty for dying to another player. There's not the slightest bit of annoyance and no reason not to keep spawning and running back into a battle, ala Unreal Tournament. I feel it's a sad day for those of us who PvP. This game gives every single plater a clear choice on their involvement in PvP, yet the majority seem to want zero punishment for getting killed?

For me, this news sucks. I hope that DYING becomes slightly annoying again sometime soon.

No, you don't.I like the fact that my armor requires replacement and that getting killed provides some form of annoyance. Heaven forbid a suit of armor that's seen 50 different battles on 50 different clones should require repair or replacement!

<sarcasm>

Let's make it so uor guns don't decay either! And maybe so that when you die you actually gain experience! And getting shot will actually increase our HAM bars? Anyone with me on this? I mean, what's death anyhoo?

This completely ignores the fact that armor still decays as it always has - the amount of damage that gets through the suit gets deducted in condition points.

The 1% was simply an ADDITIONAL decay that really wasn't necessary.

Armor already decays too quickly in many peoples opinion, which is why PvP virtually disapeared when the 1% add-on decay came in. It just tipped the scales too much - armor was no longer worth it.

Armor still requires replacement, but the PvP player (who likely dies much more often than a strictly PvE player) was unfairly penalized.

Wooberhead, it's not a matter of zero punishment for dying.

It's a matter of dying taking you out of the battle.

It's a matter of if you want to influence the outcome of the battle, avoiding dying needs to be a priority.

Now it's not. It's possible to be a suicide bomber again and again and again now.

Death has no tactical consequence, especially as a defender in a base raid scenario where the base has a cloning facility.

The defender already has an advantage in a battle; now they've got one that real soldiers can't even dream of having. An endless supply of troops to defend the base.

Sucks for the nuetral people though. If one group has decay the rest should too that is my opinion.

In other words the developers are saying "We want you to only engage in PvP and not PvE because in PvP your items dont decay if you insure and die but in PvE if you insure you still lose 1%. So be sure to PvP alot. Of course this means you cant level because you get no xp from PvP."????? Wow so wonderful. Hypocrites.

It is not hypocrisy. They removed decay from faction death to encourage PvP. With all the doc buffs available, if yu cant level PvM you are doing something seriously wrong. Triple incap death in PvP is still causing decay. That has to be fixed.

Well they didn't because I engaged in PVP and wad deathblowed... cloned and noticed that I had to reinsure everything and had the 1% decay STILL. Nothing was fixed. It was all false hope.
