Thread: Most annoying text bugs?
Think this has been mentioned but :
Master Carbinier (incorrect)
needs to be changed to
Master Carbineer
As a friend of mine says, "SOE killed the winkey face"
![]()
I can use it here, but not in the game, because of the semicolon issue.
If you type "I'd NEVER do THAT!
"
You get this:
X says, "I'd NEVER do THAT!"
")" says X.

Wow, I just noticed that the online manual has the Smuggler's prerequisites wrong:
Smuggler: An adventurer able to sell contraband and collect spice.
Requirements: Pistol Specialists ( Marksman), Business IV: Business Diversity (Artisan), Unarmed Specialist (Brawler) & Engineering Specialist (Artisan)
http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/manual_detail.jsp?id=56845
That's kind of a big deal, and is annoying. You only need Unarmed 4 and Pistols 4 to become a Smuggler.
But they dropped the Artisan requirement.
One other little thing I don't quite understand is that if you do a player search, if only one matching player is found it will tell you that one player is found, but if it finds more than one, it will say that that number +1 has been found.
Sorry to follow up to myself, but this is incorrect (I must have misremembered the behavior, and I should have tested it first). What actually happens is that it always reports that one more person was found than actually was, unless your character is in the list, in which case the total is correct. Of course, it correctly informs you when no players are found.
One other little nit-pick: in the skill sheet, the skill mod "Additional Pets" should really be called "Number of Pets", because that's what the number beside the skill mod actually means.
Hope this helps.
Most annoying text bugs:
Every time a dev refers to someplace like Jabba's Palace or Nym's Stronghold as a "themepark" on the official forums. Disney World is a themepark, not jabba's palace.
Today I rode my swoop out to explore Jabba's Palace and had a run-in with some of his thugs. I got knocked out at one point but survived. It was interesting for awhile.
Or let me re-phase that in dev-speak. Today I logged in and rode my money-sinktothe Jabba Themepark. I fought someMOBs along the way, got incapped, but didn't need to re-spawn. It was a good time-sink.
Ihave not read all the previous posts so this may have been mentioned already. When the effects of Neutron Pixie fades it says "The mind enhancing effects of the Neutron Pixie leave. You have to fight to retain consciousness." though Mind isthe only stat NOT affected buy Neutron Pixie.
havent had the desire to search through the previous pages but a few I'll list a few I have come across
- my no.1 peeve since I began - when looting if the corpse has nothing the message "you find nothing else of value on the body" - else indicates there is something prior to getting nothing, maybe trivial but has always annoyed me.
Also you could change themessage when they actually have some loot to "you have completely looted the corpse of all junk" and add a "do you wish to delete it Y/N"dialog to save having to check inventory and do it. - when attacked by Stormtroopers with grenades an actual error msg something like "missing text_data for COMBAT_SPAM_GRENADE"
- when fighting critters you occassionally get the msg
"you try to hit piket plains walkerbut him counterattacks"
- obviously this sounds pretty silly - In the past doing quests especially the rebel theme park there were dozens and dozens of simple grammatical errors, poor spelling, repeated sentences, and many that made no sense whatsoever. I was quite disappointed with this to say the least as surely these are amongst the more popular of the many quests that people choose to do. I think I took some screenshots way back when I did these but they may have been lost, if I can find them I'll go into more detail. One I can think of at the moment is Ben Kringle in Mos Taike who has [] squares and spaces scattered throughout every sentence he says.
