Thread: Great Expectations, Major Schedule Changes and making SWG the finest MMORPG ever
But back to the Poll.
1. Fix the Ground Based game
2. Enhance the GCW to be a proper war instead of play fights
3. Hope JTL pulls the cat out of the bag
4. Trust SOE's judgement on the way forward
5. It doesn't matter what we choose SOE muck it up anyway.
Please Garva do not close this as this is genuine.

I bet 90% of you who say you are quitting, DON'T. I know your type - you would rather whine and complain than take action. So get lost. At least then there will be less spam in Coronet. The game will be better without you.
It is your blind faith in SOE that is the problem.

TH please do convey to the higher ups that the customers are very pleased with the job the few people working on this project are doing but are very displeased that there are few people working on this project.
I have. I've been going over the details, the history and the effect this announcementis having on the community for some time now. I've spent more than a couple of sleepless nights in the past couple of weeks thinking about this post. It's not easy for anyone involved.
Sorry to hear that, must be really tough for you huh sweetie? Gosh TH, we're all real sorry to hear you've lost sleep over this for weeks...hmmm weeks you say?
anyway, if you cant get it across the desk of those who count, then what good are you to us? Isn't that the job WE pay you for??
sorry man, but your excuses are old, busted, and down right pathetic. Ive been here since beta 3 and I am just flat out tired of your lies..thats right, LIES.
whatever, im done with this game and Im done with SOE. Maybe Blizzard wants my money.

let me make this as clear as I can possibly make it:
I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING JTL UNLESS THE CORE GAME IS FIXED FIRST. END OF STORY.
I doubt I'm the only person who feels this way.
I think you devs are overestimating how 'excited' people are for JTL. Dont delay the combat balance and gcw balance. Delay the release of JTL. That, or risk losing the majority of your devoted player base to this nonsense.

A couple things.
First some posters are suggesting SOE hire more people. Unfortunately getting benefits adding developers to a software team is not immediate. Software development is actually one of those few things were throwing money and staff around actually can slow a project down. I have seen it happen first hand. Fairly amusing watching business folk run up against a problem money cannot fix...but I digress...One of the fundamental principles about software projects is that adding more people actually extends the time it takes to finish a project (Reference: The Mythical Man-Month: Essays on Software Engineering, 20th Anniversary Edition by Frederick P. Brooks).
Software development is not special or in anyway unquie in this fashion. All technical work is like this due to the harsh learning curve. It will take 3-6 months for any new development staff to become productive. That training period does slow the trainers down. However they have been missing deal line after deadline dispite the large amount of revenue being brought in. There is no excuse for that. You do the hiring, even more than you need so you can trim down later if need be, and you get them going as best you can as soon as you can. There will always be the 'next expansion' as long as the game is making money. The split in the team should not have happened. You will always have people leaving that need to be replaced. You will not be given the customers paitents in missing deadlines right and left while they are paying you.
Something needs to happen. The work isn't getting done and ultimately you need a warm body in place to do that work, even if there is a 3-6 month lag before these problems are solved.

TH, are you going to address any of these posts with GOOD points about how badly you guys have screwed up? You were honest, but in some kind of propaghandist way. Be honest with us, tell us you screwed up with jedi, with the CB, with the GCW, and everything else, and tell us you know this, and you want to fix it! Tell us you're SORRY. You know you just slapped every vet in the face with these Jedi publishes and now this. We are not all RANTING TROLLS. The people that are most angry and not sucking up are the oldest, wisest, veteran players who LOVE star wars and want to love this game just as much.Only after you realize that, can the actual bridge between us players and you devs begin construction. Don't make us out to be crazy people and just give a reply to the back patters. That's even more infuriating.

Im a big SW fan and this I have had some great times in this game. But you need to listen to zooey here and give the vets some answers. Reply to the real constructive postwith someactualfeedback. This isn't an election, so no need to respond with a virtual smile, wave and thank you.
