Thread: Fan Fest Beta Test: Stars, My Destination!

I wish I could have gone to the FF. But being in europe it would have been to expensive for me. :-(
I live on the East Coast of the US and it was too expensive for even me.
Way to cater to the rich and the Western US residents, SOE. ![]()
I was in the original Beta of SWG, that in itself should take prescedence over Fan Fest participants.

OK. I've been playing since beta 3. I have 3 characters and have played EVERY SINGLE DAY since launch. I went to Fan Fest too. I verified my email address and followed your explicit directions listed above. Now...
PLEASE TELL ME WHY I HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY JTL BETA EMAIL?

What the h*** kind of ungrateful "veterans" are you? All you do is sit around whining about not being on the d*** beta test yet. The devs have made the best f***ing game in the galaxy and let us play it and all y'all can ever do is b**** about not being the first person with a d*** ship. Don't get me wrong I'd love to be on beta butI trust the devs to pick the best d*** testers in the whole galaxy to test it and they will get it done when it is necessary. As Yoda once said,"Haste is the way to the darkside!"
Now pleasestop whining and do something productive!

P.S. If you found this message to be offensive I'm sorry. It just makes me so mad that people can be such ungrateful a** holes about JTL when they should be HAPPYit's coming out soon!
What some people are failing to see (and us veterans aren't entirely helping the matter) is that we don't accept the fact that fan fest attendees are the ones that should get in first for this reason: Not all fan fest attendees are best suited to test JTL.
There are beta testers for the ground game (that haven't gone to fan fest) that are excluded from this process simply because they didn't pay to get in. When we see that it's not the quality of the tester, but the quantity of money that allows us to get in it makes us feel devalued. To me I hear: "Because you couldn't fork over however much was needed to attend fan fest we aren't going to consider you for the first wave of invites." We could care less which veteran got in first if there wasn't the matter of money involved.
The beta testers for the ground game were invited because of their posts on the pre-beta boards. They were chosen by what they brought to the table and how they brought it.
Something I think many needed to be reminded about is that we had to pay for shipping of the beta discs. Some said you get to get into beta, stop crying about having to pay $6 to play/test it. Many of us thought regardless of how "inexpensive" it was for us that we shouldn't have to pay to test a product.
Something else that should be said about the veterans wanting to get in as soon as possible is that we were there when the game was going to be released. Even someone like me who was a newbie to testing saw the flaws and knew it wasn't ready to go live. It left a bad taste in our mouths. Many of us felt disgusted because we couldn't use the testing period to shape the game into what would essentially be fun. Had we had ample time to test the ground game wouldn't be in the shape it's in now.
*crossesfingers*
Btw if i would be a dev i would never read in these forums anyway and i think people with 200+ posts here are either complete swg-nuts or just terribly bored (i use my internet time to play swg instead of whining on the boards).
