He's a programmer, not a developer.

Ha Ha!

Exciting times.... the excitement of finishing up the systems we wish we had launched with (namely player cities and vehicles).

HA!

It hasn't stopped there though. As lead programmer for the live development of Star Wars Galaxies, the best excitement is still yet to come.

HA HA HA

...Our database efficiency has improved tenfold and 3am calls to the programming team have declined from expected to rarely. This doesn't mean the game is perfect; far from it.

HA!

faster servers

HA HA HA

, and a better vendor system

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

), to things we expect you will see and enjoy (like a character transfer system, large scale battles, and our new dungeon system).

Oh ho HA HA HA

I will say though from what I've seen so far, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about it.

HA HA HA Oh please stop, I can't handle anymore! Gonna... bust... a... gut!

The general abuse of the "future tense" in SOE-speak should be outlawed and made into a mortal sin!

Let me tell you this, we absolutely LOVE our jobs. And we LOVE this game. We are dedicated to doing whatever we can to enhance your play experience. And it usually only takes one fan's blood to drift off...

I will say though from what I've seen so far, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about it.

Are they greater than:
(14.95 x 6 months)
+ Cost of Space expansion
===========================
number of reasons not to wait for space expansion?

Please keep in mind that why I feel the need to post this is based on the fact that I'm willing to pay it. Don't blow it off as a trolling post, because the less I hear about dates, and features the more reasons I have NOT to continue. There's a gray mist about the calendar of SWG that is more than required and the Devs summoned it about the time that we got "In Concept!"

Well, I was really excited to see another member of the team, who is excited about the work, who is excited by what he's doing and is excited he has finally been mentioned on the game!

Whilst we are living in Exciting times within the game, we are still suffering from a lack of communication that is desperatly needed. Recent comments in DEV CHATS for example hint at things with no explinations or futher comments that lead the site and players into uproars.

Again, this "Letter to the community" is another attempt at a glorified WHITE WASH.... getting DEVS to say it's exciting when really there is not as much excitiment to get excited about.

Again, I ask to stop the bullsh*t and treat us like adults instead of children please!

Not trying to sound like a fanboi, but I personally give them more credit for getting better with patches. There is no doubt about it, they have improved it. For the most part publishes are coming out with fewer and fewer huge problems. Less and less changes are going in undocumenteted.

Well the bar was set pretty low at launch. It wasn't like they could have gone very far in the opposite direction.

Cool. I'm looking foward to the comments on SE.

Just a few things:

large scale battles - are we talking 200 player large? (hopefully not like the BoB we had on Bria...which failed horribly *cough*lag and server crash*cough*)

our new dungeon system - excellent *Mr Burns' hand thing*

Although this team comments was certainly shorter in length then all the others...

He's excited, he fixes bugs, he has nothing to do with the Space Expansion.

Yeah I liked this letter,

We have so many exciting things planned, I am so excited about the excitement we are working on for your excitement level.

If I hear excited one more time from these people I swear I am going to smash something.

We have been hearing about all these exciting things they have planned, but when do we see them? Where are they? Vehicles exciting? Mounts exciting? Jedi exciting?

Still waiting for the excitement, I have more excitement inciting riots on the message boards personally.

Guys, why you have to make down every poor programmer, who was happy to tell a bit about himself and how he is excited about his job?

He does not make the game, just code it.

I am verry happy to see faces and read feelings from the PEOPLE, who are working on this game.

Sure, i rant enough and have problems with the game, but it is not his fault.

I have been trying to find some information on this, but alas I cannot. For the upcoming Space Expansion, can we expect to see new wearables such as Rebel Pilot helms, Tie Pilot helms etc. introduced into the game. These may serve only as 'eye candy' but there are many items in game that already serve this function, such as the Endor Commando Helm you recieve from the Corellian Rebel Base Theme Park.

Can I just ask, when are you going to fix the stuff wrong with the current game, instead of adding new stuff that ends up being more broken?

There are a lot of things that have been broken for a long time. Those should be fixed first before you add such wonderful things like "wookie armor".
Yet many things still go unfixed.

What would be nice would be a little schedule, saying "Hey, we know about the problem with (insert problem here). It will be fixed by this coming tuesday. We know it's annoying you to no end, and we're doing our best to fix it"

That would be very much appreciated.

Indeed, give the guy a break, poor game design is not his fault, 10 minute shuttle waits are not his fault, delays to the space expansion aren't his fault yadda yadda.

Now the fact that the ticket droid takes 30 seconds to respond to a click and the fact that all the high-level NPCs are now TKM's instead of their regular fighting style, that's probably his fault
