Altruism is the only one I don't have thus far, so I can't comment on it other than to say "ditto" to the comments about folks camping the area and such. I mean, it's going to happen, there's nothing we can do. But it does detract some. All the time spent looking is frustrating.

Honor was far and away the coolest one. No combat involved made it that much more rewarding, I thought. Just total interaction. Watching the stormies come in and haul away the pirates is one of the best moments of my SWG experience.

Courage took me all of about 5 minutes. I got lucky with the spawn and it was fairly simple. I can see how this one might be challenging for someone who didn't luck out as I did.

Intellect I earned last fall, but it sounds as if the quest itself hasn't changed, only the location (near cities now). I enjoyed it then, so if it's pretty much the same, I say keep up the good work. =)

The squill cave is a pretty vicious place to put the Hermit. The spawn rate in there is nutty. I didn't come close to dying or anything, but this is a seriously challenging sequence of quests to begin simply because the Hermit is quiteinaccessible to anyone who doesn't group or isn't a master combat class. Dunno if that was the intention or not, but there you have it.

The reward itself -- the ring -- is worth all the effort though. KUDOS to you guys for making it worth our time to do all this neat stuff.

Great job on these. Any quest that isn't "Go here and converse with X" or "Go here and kill X" is a nice change. Escorting the wife and kid out of the cave and watching the Darktroopers escort the pirates off to jail were both particularly impressive.

I managed to get very lucky and find 3 of 4 without much searching, but I can understand the frustration everyone else is having. Unfortunately, until the majority of people have finished these (or put them on hold) people will have to try to complete them around server reset time. I had to do Intellect and Altruism right before and after a reset so I knew I'd have a chance at them.

The 4 items when dropped as a ball look pretty cool. I do have a few questions about the ring though.

It's auto-insured but has condition. Does it decay on death? As for the rez ability... there's an option on the ring's radial to restore life. So, if I were to die I'd have the option of using the ring or cloning? Or would it auto-rez me? With only so many charges and only one per character this isn't something I'd want to waste just wearing it around.

Have you attempted the Hero of Tatooine Quests?

Yes

What were your experiances?

Going to the squill cave was pure insanity. There were at least 20 other people there and we couldn't keep a room clear for more than 60 seconds. Eventually I stopped attempting to kill the squills and just ran through healing myself with stims until I completed the hermits initial quest than burst ran out.

Later I tried to find the moisture farmer, however the area was significantly camped by the inhabitants of a near by town. So I just decided to hold off a while until everyone else finished the quest.

I've gotten the Intellect badge, thanks to my ranger tracking... logged in, stepped out of the Bestine med center and did AreaTrack --> People and found the names with "(bounty hunter), (a smuggler)..." about 100m away between the starport and cantina. Pretty simple after that.

I'm now looking for the Honor badge. I found the ranger house, talked to the wife, used the intercom... nothing (not that I was expecting it to). I then searched in condensing rings around the ranch, starting at 2km out and spiraling in at 500m intervals. I was stopping every few hundred meters to AreaTrack again. Nothing. Problem may be with AreaTrack also, though. There were several times I would run that command and only see a few people on the list, hop back on my bike, ride less then 100m and see someone that wasn't on the list. This also happens with my BH marks.

I looked a few days ago for the Altruism badge South of Mos Taike and couldn't find the farmer there either. I haven't looked for the Courage badge yet.

I love it.

Spawns are annoying, but it's still fun.

Completed the quests. Very well designed addition to the game.

I know I got lucky with the spawns, but IMO they are spawning at a very acceptable rate. The "old school" rate that people talk about (spending weeks looking) is far too much to expect from most players. This rate is much better.

Courage is a little underwhelming relative to the other quests, also AFAIK the hermit's hint of "speaking to the people of Tattooine" is neither apparent nor used. Is there supposed to be a signpost NPC somewhere? Most people just get the waypoints off the forum as it's not apparent where you would look otherwise.

That is a general critisism of the whole quest. The Hermit's hints are really vague and nonsensical. Most of them are "somewhere on Tattooine" - which is not terribly useful. I have no idea how a player that never visits these boards would be able to complete this quest.

A better option for future questsmight be to spawn these NPCs in response to a character-specific variable. For instance, set a variable on each character for TIME_SPENT_TATOOINE that increases for each unit time spent on Tattooine outside of a city border. Once that variable hits a predetermined value the quest NPC dynamically spawns within the player's field of view. Just a thought.

The rest of the stories (Honour and Altruism especially) were really well done and enjoyable. Kudos.

Fantastic quest.

I agree without the guide that players assembled on the Game Guide forum, this quest would be quite difficult to get started on, but that's the idea. Keep it special for the people who cared to invest the time.

The quests are excellent, great content, great story. Except the Mark Of Courage, just your simple run-of-the-mill find/kill mission. Too bad it wasn't something with a bit more story like the other 3 parts. And I also fail to see how that wild bladeback boar could terrorize a farmer, much less the planet... maybe replace it with something a bit more deadly looking, like a special squill or something.

I had Altruism from pre-patch, took me 2 days to complete the other 3 post-patch.

One MAJOR complaint I had was that I got the item from the 3 I completed, then went and got my Hero badge and item. I wanted the Altruism item to complete my set, so I found the farmer this morning to get started. He would NOT let me take the quest, although I had never done it post-patch. So I had to do it with my Jedi character, and play with /transferstructure to get the full set in one place. I'm not happy about that, and while the players who had Mark badges pre-patch are no doubt a minority, this is not cool for people that want the full item set. I'm just lucky I had two characters and was able to do this for myself, someone with one character is out of luck.

I have attempted both the altruism & intellect and won the badges.

Will do the other 2 this weekend

I like them - I found the intellect to be just a tad too easy.

Forget the takes too long posts - its the same ones who complain that there is not enough to do. I like that it takes longer to do.

I find myself hunting and killing things that I would not normally do while waiting for spawns - also finding the tricks to the puzzles and the key landmarks - like the sand pole towers in the four corners of where the moisture farmer spawns - I prefer to think this was intentional by the Devs as a hint.

Been down to visit the hermit three times; once with my main character andtwice with my jedi.

Problem is that everytime I visit with my jedi, the Squill lair doesnt not spawn for me. Even in a group or solo, the other people with me see it and retrieve the skull, but Idont see anything. Am I bugged? Or do jedi not get to complete the quest?

Can you please give some loveto the Altrusim quest?

The farmer spawn is the hardest to find. Once the guy spawn, he will keep walking untill someone talks to him. What is happening is that most people speeding around the general area and miss him popping up 50m behide them. Because they missed him, he will keep walking. There have been reports that this guy has showed up anywhere fromthe hutt caveto bestine. Is there any way to make this guy spawn and stay put?

Also, If you have talk to the farmer and go to the cave, people can steal your explosivesand bug/steal your quest. If someone opens the rock to place the explosives in before you do, you cant open it any more. Only the person that opened it first has permission.

PLEASE Fix this mission, it is very hard to do and easily grief-able.

I went to the Squill Dungeon, got the skull, talked to the hermit, and all that went really well (Also the Squill Cave is so much fun now with the increased difficulty, it's actually a bit hard!) I've tried searching for the boar that gives the Courage badge, but I couldn't find it. I'm going to try again later since many people were looking for it at the time.

I got my Hero badge yesterday.

All in all I enjoyed it imensely.

I would have finished on Wednesday, however, a bug prevented all of bloodfin from being able to finish the mark of honor. Either a player or MOB attacked the pirate leader so he turned white, but then did not talk to him. Since the perso who turned him white didn't talk to him, he wouldn't talk to anyone else and he wouldn't respawn. I /bugged this and submited a ticket hoping a csr could force him to despawn. I got two cookie cutter responses (the first made it clear my complaint hadn't even been read). We all had to wait for server reset for the bugger to spawn somewhere else.
