Last week I believe there was a thread about criminal factions.

If this is implemented (and I think it would be not only do-able, but interesting as well) how about changing faction status thusly:

Example: Whenever you attack/kill a NPC/PC from a subfaction of the criminal element i.e. Jabba's thugs, your faction status adds x number of points. All other subfactions of the thug factionare modified by x divided by two.

This way, it's almost like earning a reputation. Although you didn't attack or kill someone ofa particularfaction, they recognize that you are out there doing harm to others like them.

The tailor socket issues are not improved by having artisan skills. I am a Master Tailor Master artisan and I am not able to produce 4 socket items more than 10% of the time. Others also have this same issue since the last mini-publish.

Will there be any changes to the build of current droids or their sub assemblies? With Publish 7, I lost literally hundreds of sub assemblies ( and several thousand resources ) becasue of the changes implemented. It would be helpful to know this in advance so the limited DEs have time to ramp up.

Suggestion for Server to Server Item Transfer

I got this idea when I first heard that characters will some day be able to cross from one server to another. This feature was probably intended for friends to migrate on to the same servers so they can play together without loosing all the work that the player put into his character.

From my understanding the only thing that is transfered is the character skills and avatar settings. What about our items?

I think More players would make use of this feature if they could also transfer Items from one server to another. Im not saying that all Items should be transferable, perhaps just clothing, armor and weapons could be transfered.

I would make clothing, armor and weapons the only tradeable items to keep players from transfering resources and rare loot drop components. (these items shoud remain on the server they were found on).

This feature could also provide a Much needed money sink. I don't know about other people, but I would gladly pay any price to be able to use a server to server Item transfer feature.

My suggestion would be that the system work much like the bazzar system. Players would go to a terminal and select the Galaxy that they want to send their items to. After selecting the Galaxy the player could then choose an existing player to send the items to. A player could also set up a password to collect the items once he has transfered his character over to the new server.

I would charge a fee of 25-50k per item transfered. This way only the most important Items and weapons would be transfered. This would be a great money sink for the devs and a great feature for players willing to pay for such services.

Hello-

I must admit, I have a rather unhealthy obsession with the Nightsisters. They are the tops in my book.

Has there ever been any development/concept discussion of working them into a playable profession? Possibly an different Force Sensitive path?

Just curious

Are the rangers sheduled for some revamps down the line? Our camps are worthless now that people can call vehicles and pets without them. Most of our best traps are in the scout tree. I really enjoy being aranger but it seems like such a waste of points to be able to harvest more (but not much more) meat than a scout. Also camo kits break way to easy, mask scent is so much more better which shouldn't be the case. Just to know we are being looked at would be wonderful news to the ranger forum!

What if...

If everyone is going to have the ability to pull out pets and vehicles now without the use of a camp, why not change the properties of the camp...?

Perhaps it could make the PC's "invisible" to creatures up to a certain level as per the quality of the camp and the level of the crafter?

Pretty soon. I was unsure of how many we would be able to complete. There are some pretty neat modules and we've increased the potential power on the combat modules pretty significantly.

That sounds promising.

However, please stress that more information is better in the case of something like this. The last time, we had to rely on one or two dedicated TC DE's who worked very hard to get us the information on the changes, but much of the discussion had a lot of noise (of which I was definately at fault) because we didn't know what was intended or what was a bug.

DE's are very leery of getting caught with their pants down, as I am sure you can imagine. In this case increasing the "potential power" of combat droids, depending on how it's done, we really need to know sooner rather than later if we should stop production until these changes happen (if the combat RATINGS are going to increase), or at least be told that the combat ratings will stay the same, but their effect enhanced. A lot of us got stuck with hundreds of relatively useless droid deeds after Publish 7 because we were initially told to stock up on them, and I don't want us to get stuck with more potentially inferior droids.

Many of us label our droid deeds with the actual damage/speed that is on the droid post-tame, because many people have no idea what "combat rating" relates to. This is especially important for us DE's because the meanings of the combat droid ratings differ between droids - a 530 on a Probot and a 530 on a R3 are two entirely different beasts.

I simply don't want to be in the situation Publish 7 put us in; while it's important to retain some spontineity with a game like this, you also have to remember that we are business people in-game who have great customer demand put upon them when it comes to accurate information. I am sure you can identify, TH.

Thanks,

I wonder if you have the time to comment on the following. I hope I dont get the ole "talk to your correspondent" line because he is NOT MY correspondent , and he cant say anything anyway.

From this thread:

The first thing TK told us after he announced the rejection of the hybrid proposal is to get cracking at new ideas. Totaly dissregarding an explanation of why the hybrid proposal dosent work. However we did learn 2 things from this experiance. #1 the devs didnt like the hybrid idea. #2 There are criteria that we previously didnt know about, and more important than we suspect. However these criteria were not shared with us, nor was a detailed explanation of the critical flaws concerning the hybrid proposal.

I belive that this information is critical in the progress of our development. I hope you all share this belief. In order to asertain this information, or atleast attempt to, i would like as many of you who agree with me to include your own personal request for this information in this thread. This is step one. We want a gameplan.

Please do not reply to one another, this is simply a thread to throw our voice in the ring in an organized fashon.

I was just reviewing many of the posts thru out the forum. There is really no suprise that so much of what is written is dripping with anger, smothered in angst, roasted over frustration, and carries an aroma of pain and sadness.

There are SOOO many people that want to have fun playing SWG. "Immerse yourself in Star Wars in a way you've only dreamed." That's what the SOE ad banner promises. But it is so crystal clear to most everyone that SWG is just another run of the mill MMPORPG.

Yet, to the credit of everyone in this forum, people are clinging to an as-of-yet un-realized dream. To be a Droid Engineer. This is perhaps the most "Star Warsie" thing a new player could hope to do in the game. As undeveloped as the profession is, so many players are not giving up on DE. More so than any other profession in the game, DEs are unwilling to move on to other professions. For many, it is a simple choice to play DE, or not play at all.

90% of the dissatisfaction that is expressed in this forum can be broken into the following catagories:

SOE won't tell us what to expect, or what is planned. They would rather hide behind their apple-polishing Coorespondent Heat Shield Program, than risk the backlash when a known plan fails.
The community is dissatisfied with SOE's utter contempt for droids. The SOE staff, not being Star Wars fans themselves, curse George Lucas for ever including droids in the story line. How easy their lives would be if they didn't have to try and shoe-horn them into the game. The reality is that this is a job for them, not a passion. There is very little work related passion left in the world. In this, SOE is no different.
Pesky Bugs. Since launch, there have been irritating bugs that severly reduce the appeal of droid to non-DE players. The only reponse we ever got as to why was that there is never enough time. Which leads me into my final point...
SOE has broken our trust with P7. Early on, when DEs were feeling down, and left out of the "We Care" club, SOE stated we would have the developers complete attention for P7 & P8. What we got was a chocolate covered turd, and it wasn't even sweet chocolate. Yet, low and behold... Is this wookie armor I see? Bet that took some time. And how about those mini-krayt invations? Looks like SOE has plenty of time on their hands for cute, crowd pleasing gimmicks.
But more than anything, DEs just want to know WHY? Why have we been neglected? Just tell us why? Don't pretend we haven't been. Just give it to use straight. Our coorespondent can't or won't., so either let him, or tell us yourselves.
So then, after that longwinded, high pitched whine, what would the dirty trick be? If P8 was really something suprising like TK has said it will be. Wouldn't SOE be smug after all the DEs were shut up once and for all, after all their whinig?

Hehe... I'll shut up. No problem... But it had better be a real good suprise.

[End copy/paste]

I am not a DE, just a customer who would like to see a more better (yes poor grammar but want to emphasize more than a silly turret addon to a R3) implementation of droids in this game.

Although I would be wrong in saying that I think that the rangers are broken...

I do feel that according to Holocrons posting in August

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=ranger&message.id=5725

we should be considered in the coming updates.

Currently, there is a feeling amongst the rangers who play because we love rangering that we are being actively ignored by the development community. I understand that there are a lot of other professions that need re-vamping as well, however, after doing some homework rangers seem to be one of the few professions that have been promised some amazing things, and then have received very little.

We dont add much to the game, we can only harvest 2x what a novice scout can harvest, the ranger traps, all 2 of them are sub-par to the scout traps.

We as a community have been very patient, mature and friendly. We have reasoned with people who have wanted to start a whining attitude, like so many other professions have been percieved to do.

I want to say that I love being a ranger, there are 2 things that keep me being a ranger

  • The Ranger community and our correspondent Calculus_Entropy.
The ranger community as a whole is a supportive group of like minded individuals who operate on a basis of mutual support, peer review and constructive critisism.
  • The intangible pleasure I have while playing a ranger.
I know that I can pick up master scout, and then focus on my combat skills to become an uber harvester, outstripping the sheer number of resources that a master ranger can do. However, there is a connection between my personality, the way I have fun and the profession of a ranger.

The mood on the ranger boards is becoming increasingly pessimistic and negative because we feel that what we have been told does not match up with what has been delivered.

Once again, I know that the game as a whole has priorities, and that Ranger is on the bottom rung, even below junk dealers (confusing and somewhat insulting, but accurate).

Please re-examine the role of the ranger in the game, for now, we are merely human harvesters that really cant harvest that well.
We are trap masters who lack any effective and creative traps.
We are wayfarers who can crawl faster than anyone in the game,
We are experts in camouflage however, these skills dont match against the olfactory excellence of most creatures
We are Frontiersmen (and women) whos camps are, at this point, decoration.
We are Hunt Masters who waste resources.
We are Animal Hunters whose +to creatures only apply to ranged fighters.

I do not mean to rant, but Increasing the abilities of our profession, (like the chefs, DE's etc) benefits the entire game and its enjoyability

    Thank you for your time.

How about updating the mission system to make it more player friendly? Almost everyone who is taking missions knows the type of missions they are looking for, why not just skip the constant refreshing of missions on the terminals and allow them to pick missions within a certain difficulty, payout, or even direction?

can we get the ability to have resouces stack higher than 100k? wouldnt the database like 1 entry of 600k rather than 6 entries of 100k?

what about increasing crates storage as well. as a bio-eng and doc i have multiple crates of things matching same serial that would help me greatly if it was 1 crate of 1000 advanced biological effect controllers rather than 20 crates of 50.

    thanks
