Thread: Friday Feature Mounts Revealed
quote:
"heres the final list for the FIRST release of mounts"
there will be more to come
and umm people, the only CH only mount will be the dewback, because non-ch's cant use them

I'm pretty sure that bantha are not fast enough, which is why they were not included. Bantha were used for moving goods (like oxen) where animals like dewback were used for quick transport (like a horse).
That might be the case as I can out run a bantha at regular speed.
Also to the person who asked about vehicles they said those should be ready for the patch following this next patch with mounts and player cities. I think it is good they break it down like this as the large the patch is the more things can go wrong.
Lastly anyone else getting the Forbidden you do not have access to this page when trying to click on the mount link on the main page?

Hmph, looks like no one will be pleased till the friday feature is a free force sensetive slot and star destroyer for all players. I am quite happy with what we are previewing now. The video really rocked my socks.

I think the problem is that people REALLY REALLY wanted only 1 or 2 specific animals to ride (I only want to ride a Cu Pa), and so they were really anticipating the announcement, only to find their hopes dashed. It's like being a Pistoleer and an announcement comes up offering a new weapon for a Carbineer. That's nice for them, but where's my new toy?
Oh well, there's always Player Cities and Vehicles...
It's not like only one profession benefits from this though...no one is left out...
Q-
May we please get some updates on how the mount system works? Specifically..
- What lvl of CH do you need to create a mount?
- Will mounts count to Stored Pets (better not)?
- Will the same calling rules apply to mounts, ie you have to use a camp, city or house?
- Of if not at this time could you give us a ball park figure of when we will be getting this information.
Thank you.
You don't have permission to access /player_mounts.jsp on this server.
Hmm fascinating...that's about on track with what I've come to expect.
Seriously though, I was really hoping there would be a cat to ride, namly by greater sludge panther, I don't really care about Banthas, Tatooine already has it's native Dewback as a mount.
Personally I was hoping to see a dancer riding a giant crystal snake oh well maybe in a future patch.
Unnacceptable? Like they owe you orsomething?
... Whatever. I couldn't care less what the first mounts are, I'm just grateful that they're here. My only question, as someone who isn't a CH, is: Which among these will non-CH players be able to ride? I have a Gualama now, which I hope I will be able to ride eventually, but until then, will I be able to ride any of these?
Ok, I'll confess to a little disappointment at the very small range of choices being offered in the initial roll-out, with no rideable big cats coming as kind of a surprise.
Mostly I'm disappointed that something called a "Feature" is amazingly light on detail. "Here's some screenshots" ... what did that take 2 minutes to write and 5 minutes of a web editor's time to throw together the HTML?
It would be nice if the Friday Feature actually contained some substantive information, instead of prompting a thousand unanswered questions. Feature Lite is getting a little old.
True they are traditional mounts in star wars, but...
My Mon Calmari can move quite a bit faster than the average bantha. The utility of the mounts is to look cool and move fast, granted the bantha look cool but they arn't exactly known for their speed.

I'm left out, because I am NOT going to ride ANYTHING OTHER than a Cu Pa, and so now I don't have a ridable mount like most others are going to have.
Yes, I am whining and moaning and being immature about this. I admit it, but I'm still going to want to ride my cu pa
