Thread: Thoughts on the Warren?

It's stupid. You can't get in because the escapee spawned in the ground in Chilastra. Why is the Warren too good for just an ordinary static NPC that won't spawn in a wall or in some impossibly-to-target spot?

When armor is fixed, I'll give it a try....or I could just do it now and spam panic shot non stopor low blow everything and leave it on its back. I could solo the whole place thanks to your "Smuggler Love"! =)

THANKS GUYS!

congrats guys on the warren! i love it! Question for HOLO though, is there 2 badges you can get from the warren? I obtained the badge of compassion and was wonderin if i could attain a second one. It has to do with going to theed in the warren storyline.

Biggest prob withthe warren Holo is entry. On eclipse there are about 3-4 groups of about 20 people just hanging out side deserately waiting for (camping) an npc to "spawn" so they can get the get to get inside. I dont know if this is a bug or not but my grp was there for about 3hrs and no sign of any survivor. We even sent out some scouts in all directions to see if maybe he was lurkin around the place some where but no luck.

In theory the place soundsgreat but its not fun if u cant get inside! Give us a little help directions to get there or at least how to start the search for the place, if i didnt have a firend in a grp already headed there i would never got the wp.

READ THIS HOLO,

me and my friends spend the last 10 hours or so in the warren, ive got to say, awesome quest!

that is exactly what me and my friends have been waiting for since we finished lvling our chars. feels a bit like the good old asherons call quests, great fighting, nice puzzles and great story.

i completly know the dungeon now and solved all parts that can be solved so far (hef in theed doesnt accept the letter so its broken)

here are some hints for to further improve this quest:

- music, with nice starwars music inside the dungeon it woulda been way more involving

- difficulty, the warren should be targeted to the high lvl crowd, that has no goals anymore and nothin to do .... so the difficulty of the mobs or number of mobs should be upped. 1 TKM and 2 BHs (3 ppl) totally cleaned that place with minor difficulty

- quest seems to be broke at a certain part, hef in theed doesnt accept the letter and inside the dungeon we need to fix the reactor and collect the rods but cant use them anywhere.

- reward, we seriously need some worthwhile reward for this quest and not badges ..... some trophy item at least ...... hat, robe or something ...... or worthwhile items that can be crafted into armor or weapons.

all in all a great quest and we sure need more of this type ! ..... its a lot of fun if u know the dungeon and help friends to finish their quest as well, so its not just a 1 time thing like all the other quests!

Hey Holo, I just want you to know that I think the warren is AWESOME. I was so excited for it to come in I actually cheated and got the location off the test center board and then logged out there the night before the big patch. It didn't take me long to get the passkey to get in and once I was in I used maskscent to make my way around. Found some really cool things, like the love letter from the scientist to his wife. I'm very impressed. I died to some rogue droids after I went down an elevator but it was still awesome. I'm planning on taking a group of my friends back out there to check it out in more detail. You guys did a great job with this patch, you added this great new content and you added missions to one of my favorite places in the game, Nyms. I'm not one to nitpick over bugs, I know they will get fixed. I'm just spending my time now enjoying all the new stuff. Great job to you Holo and the whole team. Thanks for making my Star Wars life come true!

Now that I've seen Creptic's post there is one thing I really have to agree with, the music. The music is sooo engaging in this game (I still get chills from the music on Lok) it would have been good to add some good mood music for this dungeon. Also, once I make it through the dungeon I'll have to see about Creptic's other points. Although totally, good music would have added a lot.

I have to say I'm very impressed with the Warren! I and one other person spent hours trying to complete it on our own, and eventually succeeded. It was great feeling that I actually accomplished something, and was actually doing something (other than a standard delivery/destroy)

Each time I died(happened a couple of times), rather than feel frustrated, I hurried back as fast as I could because I wanted to try again and see what I would have to do next. Having to actually do something like say a password out loud was a nice break from conversing with an NPC for every part of a quest. I also really enjoyed the huge variety of tasks to accomplish in the Warren.

Kudos to everyone who made the Warren happen! And to all of you players, I strongly recommend trying a visit to Dantooine. You won't regret it.

Now if only Captain Heff would talk to me about this information I have....

I checked it out... died super quick because of the stealth 2.5x melee nerf on commando's and the fact that as a MCH my pets were worthless because of the armor bug.

I'll reply again when I can actually get past the first room as a charcter with no skill points left all in combat skills...

ok first off: im very glad you are asking us what we are thinking about this

second: it ROCKS !

third: we need more of this =)

today, me and 2 real life friends spent almost 10 hours to explore the "the warren".... we really LOVED it.

in my opinion this was the **edit** best patch, that you ever made since release.

its the first real quest we got. the first real content. and you really did a good job on it. i dont care at all about all the bugs and all the whining that came along with this patch... all the bugs will be fixed soon anyways.... but this quest is a very very good step.

it took us very long to explore it and i never had that much fun in this game be4.

i can see that you guys put in a lot of work for this one and i like it.

though i was still sad that some parts of the quest seem to be broken. we were not able to finish it.

but as far as we got, we really liked it.

what we now need is: a fix, so we can complete it; a NICE REWARD that makes it worth to do this quest; maybe make it a little bit more difficult; and maybe give it a little bit more star wars atmosphere... like adding some nice music and stuff.

but besides that i can just repeat: i LOVE YOU for finally giving us such a nice quest and i REALLY HOPE that a lot more quests like this will follow..... right now you are at a point where you could make this game one of the best MMORPG ever.... just add like 20 more quests like this and ppl will LOVE you....

right now everybody is whining about the nerfs... the bugs ... and all this crap.... but believe me: in a few days, when all this will be fixed, noone will care about it and it will be forgotten very soon..... but quests like this one will keep the game alive and make it more interesting then any other changes could do.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this.... and please GIVE US MORE !!!!!!! =)

HOLOCRON
I READ that list. Its not the same problem at all. Armor piercing has a Problem:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=663826

A AR3 weapon is supposed to do 75% more damage on AR0 mob, right? But right now a AR0 weapon does more damage than AR3 weapon in PVE. I hit a AR0 mon with 2500 damage(like bantha), but it takes only 400 damage.

>>>Q3PO wrote:[Armor] is reducing damage, but not at the correct amount (much lower then it should be). We're currently investigating this..<<<

I cant see how these are the same problem.

Holo:

I've been pretty hyped about the warren since the devs first started talking about it. I learned as much about it as I could when it was on test center.

Today I went there with a buddy and our pets. We knew we were in for an a$$ kickin' but we were so excited to try something new so we went on our lunch break at work.

We loved it! This is what its all about. You need more content like this. We only got to the first couple of rooms. My buddy actually made it to the first room with rogue droids in it before he was slain.

Had a great time!

Now get your monkey a$$ back to work on fixing those patch bugs. The HAM costs on specials and /healdamage is out of the galaxay! Yah mule, YAH!!!

ok, my main issue is that the whole group doesnt get the badge. the fact that each of you (if you are rebel) has to find the letter and talk to miria, when the letter is hard to get (YES IT IS). i think that the whole group should get the badge
