Thread: IT Focus Thread: Requesting information on the “Timer Bug”
I remember a time, before vehicles were introduced, when I was riding my carrion spat all over Dantooine (merchant hopping). I'd Gallop until winded, then gallop again when I could. After awhile I noticed that, even though I was told my mount was winded, he'd never actually slow down - I could gallop forever. This would "reset" if I stopped and dismounted. I think it happened once more since then. I could never reproduce it on demand, then then Vehicles were relased, and I stopped using the spat.
Is that the kind of think you're looking for?
*keeping fingers crossed*

It has often been brought up that, taking the Flame DoT for example, that when someone is incappacitated by the flame DoT or otherwise, the timer on the DoT is suppose to start over, but when the incapp timer is up the Burn or Bleed DoT immidiately hits again instead of starting a new....This doesn't give folks a chance to heal after getting back up and is the BIGGEST thing that lead to frustration over the Flame DoT (Burn, incapp...incapp ends, immediate burn, right back to incapp...incapp ends, immediate burn, right back to incapp which 3rd time equals death)...if the timer reset after the incapp timer ended then folks would be able to avoid a further incapp via healing, etc....but the bug rules out this possibility.
Further... Why does the burn still incap? It is not supposed to.
All DoTs were changed so that they would not icapacitate, but would rather run out at 1 HAM. Poison works this way, bleeds work this way, but burns and a combo of poison and disease will incap.
Basically if both damage and wounds over time are ticking it will incap. Maybe attacks that do wounds over time were left out of the equation when the DoTs were originally "fixed"
This needs to be fixed and is part of the problem that has everyone up in arms about CMs.
All DoTs should have the same set of rules governing them. Poisons, diseases, bleeds, burns, all of them need to stop at 1 HAM point.
What happened? What were you doing when this happened?
Two things really...
Firstly...If I eat food or have any doc buffs then I get killed, when I respawn the timer still remains but the buff is gone. I then cannot apply that buff again until the timer has expired. Secondly... it's possible to get killed if a spice downer hits while I'm incapped and when the TKA power boost runs out at the same time. I'll stand up, immediatly incap again. Then stand up, incapped.. and die.
What were you trying to do?
In the case of both I was just playing the game as normal
Where were you (Planet, location X, location Y) ?
Has happaneed repeatedly on every planet no matter where I am
While you are looking at the timer bug, you might want to test another aspect of it...one relating to DoTs....
If this issue had been looked into prior, many ofthe frustrations may have been resolved...it's not to late...It has been already stated it is a known bug...the question is, what's being done about it?
Who knows, if this had been resolved (the timer starting over once the incapp timer ended) maybe there wouldn't have been a need to NERF DoTs as much as they were....
Just a friendly positive suggestion....
Thanks very much guys and Garvin - - you rock ![]()
Here is the thing; if you know where it happened and what you were doing, it would be helpful ![]()
just traveling from gungan scared place to Moeina

My cu-pa mount never recovered from being winded, even after a period of 45 minutes to an hour. This would have been on the evening of February 27th.
Use /gallopstop to stop him from galloping, dismount him, then store him and call another pet to use as a mount.
"Your pet is too tired to gallop."
Ridingcross-country at first, and then having small races in New Unity. I used several mounts after using storing this one (a bantha, a dewback, a brackaset, a kaadu), but the original cu pa never recovered from being winded for the remainder of that play session. I tried leaving him stored for a while, and tried leaving him unstored for a while.
Naboo, riding in a straight line from Keren to New Unity. The initial /gallopstop and storing occurred just inside the city borders of Laketown. I thenproceeded toNew Unity and stayed there for the remainder of the play session.
Other mounts seemed to gallop and recover from being winded fine during that play session. Only the original cu pa in question was affected. He was back to normal the next time I played (the next day).
- The 1 hour to go covert timer not turning off when you go covert for other reasons (like death) leaving you in a scenario where you are over, ask NPC to go covert then die 5 minutes later and clone someplace like AH and then you can be covert for another 45minutes then you decide you want to go overt again and do so but since the timer is still running it'll go off after the original 60 minutes are up and you can't stop it.
- There is still a problem with the vehicle auto storage timer ... sometimes it works as expected and theres enough time while i'm off it to do a mission or check a vendor but on rare but annoying occations it'll store between the time you 'dismount' and the time you walk up the stairs and into the vendor house. Perhaps its the same kind of problem as the above.. where the timer starts when I get off at the vendor before and just happens to wind down while I'm off the bike a different time - I really don't konw because I haven't tracked it, but it is still happening
Monday night travelling from Dragon's Call to Bestine while medically buffed. Arrived incapped with all six of my non-mind related stats listing -1. Incap timer ran out, I stood up, and was immediately incapped again. Kept seeing a yellow -1926 drift above my head, which corresponded to the biggest of the buffs I had in place. This time the incap timer ran to zero and just stayed there. I had to quit, wait for my toon to be removed from the world, and relogin before it passed; and even then I had to wait out an incap timer when I logged in.
Similar thing happened last night (Tuesday); buffed on Rori and drank some Vasrian Brandy to pump up my mental stats, travelled from Rori (NE NPC City) to Mos Entha on Tatooine without problem. Shuttled from there to Dragon's Call with no problem. Rode out to Jabba's and was hanging around doing various tasks when I noticed one of my buff icons had disappeared; I reapplied it and checked to see how long the others were going to last, all of them read an hour and a few minutes. Several minutes later I looked up and noticed another one was gone, this time I know it had read more than an hour just a bit ago. I reapplied it andheaded back into Dragon's Call. When I got there I had lost several more, so I reapplied them. Took the shuttle to Skystone and arrived incapped matching the description of my experience Monday (above).
So two bugs:
1) incap resulting from some shuttle trips while buffed which might not be timer related, but seems somewhat related
