I was talking to a csr Saturday Sept 11,2004.. And he told me when you get to padawan you will have to decide if you wanna be jedi or regular character.. He said they have cancelled giving out the 2nd character slot to people who didn't unlock pre publish 9... So if you where hoping for the second character you can wish on lol... Seems they love to promiss stuff then turn around and not keep there word on stuff.. I for one have had enough.. I wish everyone good luck... As of Sept 16 i will be out of this game permanently.. And will be cancelling my preorders of JTL as well

Here is my two cents.... They are not going to change this system. We are all going to have to deal with it. Hopefully the HoloCredit issues will be fixed... but who knows. I myself didn't Hologrind, so I have to fill all 6 trees. I know first hand that the XP conversions are crazy, butI have 3 weeks to get a tree. With just Weapon and Combat XP, it will take capping out at 900k roughly 21 times to fill a tree. Not to bad if you have 3 weeks to do it. Killing Rancors today, I maxxed out twice in about5 hours.Only 19 more times to go.... /sigh. But on the plus side I have just under three weeks to do it. Pain in the rear? Oh Yes. Doable? Very. The only thing I have to overcome is my impatients. 18 weeks is a long time to wait, but there isn't anything I can do about it. Except keep on going about my business... Scrapping it up with Overts, working my way up the Rebel ranks, trying to loot all the pieces to a blue rug on my own... etc...

I'm gonna keep playing, not for the Jedi, not for the XP, but for the People I know in game.

ok, i'm getting annoyed now, been attacked by the Sith twice, the first time the NPC characters at my city's Rebel base killed them, so i couldn't access the corpses, reported that as a bug, next i killed them looted the disk, but when i try to use it via the radial menu it says "You must first loot this object before you can Use it".

What the hell is this about!!!!

I have been playing for over a year now and all that time i have wanted to become a jedi. Im in no means a hardcore gamer. I have been playing a littel under a year now with 7 professions mastered i never wanted to do the grinding because it was B/S in roleplay aspects of Starwars.. Now im sitting here after reading nearly all 108 pages dumbfound at how putting a system that the dev's say will be "Quest" based and hiding the fact that you will need a ridiculous amount of experience to attain this.. I have read the posts of "Oh its not that hard ect ect.." Well max per day i have about 4-5 hours to play.. my character is currently a TKM/pikeman.. now i can max TKM out at least 3 times in 4-5hours on dant and thats stating if i want to log on for all of my play time to grind.. *no thanks* i would rather chat with friends, group, and roleplay.. Come on something needs to be done. Im a casual player and a hardcore Starwars Fan.. but i simply don't have the time to endlessly grind out experience to get my character to even initate status, even if i had the time i don't think i would want to. Now are you dev's going to hold true to your word and maybe involve quests more into this system and take the experience grind out or is this your final awnser to the jedi crisis. I for one will give this new system 2 and a half months the amount of time it will take my for subscription to end. If nothing is done or the exp grind is at least toned down a little i will leave and go play something else. I really hope you guys find a way to make most of us happy in some way. I really love Starwars and i would hate to leave this game but if its just no fun and if my goal of attaining jedi is broken i will.

Well, I never used a holo, and apparently none of my 9 professions were one of my 8 holos

Not nessisarily, as many as two of them might have been valid, but you get no credit at all for the 1st or 2nd. Heck, I would have been happy to get a XP for one branch (I don't mind doing the quests), but sadly, no credit for doing 2 holos

As i side note for you future xp converters canvert everyyhing at once if its a profession you dcont have anymore. I lost 300k rifles xp due to not having rifles and wanting to get trained in novice force prowess (not knowing that the xp would reduce to rifles I 2000 xp cap) being i was trying to be cautious in case their was a HIDDEN cap in fs xp! CSR-JasonP told me conversion works perfectly and i didnt lose any xp LMAO

Alright, this has probably been answered before, but there are just WAY too many pages to read and look for the answer I want. Here's my situation:

Back in the day of holocrons, I did 3 holo profs and the 4th holo I used was silent. Didn't this mean I had ONE profession left to master? I got my silent holo about a month or two after the first jedi popped up, and I dunno if they added more prof requirements just to the new characters (it's my understanding that as soon as we created our character, we had a hidden template of 5 profs that needed to be mastered to unlock; I started in October of '03, so that shouldn't have been changed, yet, right?) or if they added to EVERY character, new and old alike. If they only added it to the newer chars and didn't silently add required profs to existing characters, then, according to TH, I should have unlocked 5 FS branches, correct? So then why when I got to the village and talked with Paemos could I only unlock 2 friggin branches?

The only solution could be that the devs did the silent addition of more professions for ALL characters. Which would royally piss off everybody who had a silent holo back in the day. I sent in a ticket to the CSRs asking for an explanation and, of course, get totally ignored and sent to this thread, which I had already read and was happy to see I'd be unlocking 5 FS branches.

So...with my silent holo many months ago meaning I had 1 profession left to master, then getting to the village and seeing that I actually had 4 f'ing professions left, made me utterly angered. If anyone could explain this in more detail, could you please? Or if it's been done already, provide a clicky to the post? Thanks a lot, everyone.

yeap they added the professions retro to everyone. worse yet, masteries before badges don't count unless they were holocrons. ie, you mastered artisan for giggles - and then dropped. when they added profession - poof you get artisan added (and you would never unlock unless you went back and re-mastered it.) Worse yet - you could have had to do the same profession twice according to someone in that thread.

A guildmate created 2 days after release. Got 3 credits - (so had 5 masteries...)

there is an excellent thread on this subject in the jedi forum : (yeah statistics)

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

I don't know whether to be happy or what, but check this out. I've never hologround anything. Matter of fact, I've never even had a holocron. I started just a couple weeks before publish 9, I'm a master Fencer/Swordsman/almost TK with some medic, I have mastered artisan, marksman, and droid engineer but that's the extent. I've done 3 of the corvettes, got a bunch of the POI badges, just basically had a good time in the game. Oh yeah I have my own guild on Corbantis as well. Anyway, I'm out of town right now, so I had one of my guildies log my fish, he does a /check and bam I'm glowing. I don't know if that was random or not, but I don't think I'll have a problem waiting a few hours or even days for a visit if that's what it takes. In the mean time, maybe I'll go on another vette mission or try meditating at a force shrine to see if that works. Bottom line, I like playing the game. I don't have to have a Jedi but yeah I wouldn't mind it. The whole point is to enjoy the game, not try to force something. If you all had as many concerns as the devs do, you would find that no decision is ever an easy one. ESPECIALLY with such a large amount of players. How many of you have played games like SimCity in the past and you just can't quite get everyone happy about everything all at once? I have, and that's what I see the greater part of this "community" as. A bunch of sims constantly bitching and whining about everything. Ohhh, papa bear my porridge is to hot. C'mon people, you've waited this long haven't you? Chill the hell out. lol

I just got in to the village tonight.

I've done 11 professions, all combat related with the exception of Medic.
1 was for a holo (Combat Medic)
The next holo I opened said Chef, that is, of course, where I stopped.

I've done every combat profession with the exception of BH, Commando, and Carbineer (I did do Master Marksman however).

I got 0 unlocks.

I'm not really upset about the unlocks, but they would have been nice. What has me really disenchanted is that these so-called "quests" will takes millions upon millions (read: hours upon days upon weeks upon months) of *XP* to finish. These aren't quests. These are merely grinding shadowed with dialog.

Your truely disenchanted customer,

I resubscribed after I heard about pub10 and it seemed very cool. Now I'm glowing and have no clue as to when I will get this visit from an old man. Honestly I want to start the xp conversion crap now or I dont want to play this game anymore. Its become not fun, you made it seem like once people were glowing they would get the visit regardless, but that isn't the case now I just have to sit and wait with no clue to when this is going to happen and of course you wont answer the question that everyone wants to know when will the old man visit you. The old man should visit whenever you are glowing. Thats the way it sounded when I read all about how pub10 was going to be so great now its just stupid. I don't care who gets in the village but it should be open to all of those who are glowing. Sorry but I will be canceling my subscription in the next few days unless some response is given and a soultion is presented because this is just ridiculos I'd rather go back to eq. I love Star Wars and yes I want a Jedi char. Thats the only reason I'm playing this game. Honestly I don't mind the grind but geez let me in the damn village.

Xoefer if you are glowing you should get a visit from the old man any day now. It could take anywhere from 1-2 days to even 5 days So I have heard. Someone also mentioned they felt a srong surge of the force- that means you are very close and you need to get a few more badges but the right ones to get glowy.
