Thread: Understanding the Crafting Experimentation Changes
Howdy...
Thanks for the feedback thus far.
I would ask that you try to keep the emotional responses out of it... that has no effect other than to make us skip that post. I really appreciate the rational replies.

1) I fail to see how this will help the economy to any degree whatsoever. Please elaborate.
I think their point is this is good for the "long" term game. I do not agree the ends justify the means, however, and I think that long term game theyare talking aboutmay bemuch longer away than we realize.
This will cripple the economy for at least 6 months, maybe a year or more- there are enoughcrafters with schematics and pre-made items to last for quite some time. This post was just made today, but we have known about it for weeks now - and TH even suggested that "smart" WS would be stocking up.
Hi! Sorry, I should have been more clear in my post that that question was sarcasm. There are plenty of other posts in this thread that indicate areas and decisions that derailed the economy far beyond what this is change could possibly fix. I agree with your points completely.
Best Wishes,
Well, my secondary character is a weaponsmith and I know I've been making a ton of schems, especially component schems like barrels that after the patch I won't be able to put good accuracy into and scopes which I won't be able to play with a whole lot after the patch. I have probably enough schems to make 10000 weapons or so. I really would not want to have to start a new crafting character after this patch.........some of the secondary's definately matter and will allow me to sell prenerf weapons in the post nerf market quite nicely. Unfortunately, this imo is not good for the game. I imagine every master right now is doing as I am doing. I'm going to make even more millions.......but a lot of players that will buy the game, try to learn how to play, make a master crafter.........will not be able to compete.......will either quit or play another class just because of frustration.
Here's a thought.......When a game is starting to be more frustrating and more work than your job, is it still a game?
Just my 2 credits worth....
Its not really much to think about JustG. This is not a way to keep the players you have already, its a way to drive them away. Players will come and go I'm sure you devs are getting a little scared with WoW coming out soon and I would be too if I were you. Face ityouwill lose half of your player base when that game comes out, so please do us a favor and just make this game as fun aspossible until then.
How being able to experiment less will increase the variety of items still baffles me.

We are still reading... and thinking about this.- g
I would ask you not to treat us in a way that creates those emotional responses.
If you were communicating better, or listening to us better than we would not have to have threads like this.

In reviewing the threads....More than a few people have mentioned that "if it isn't broken, we shouldn't fix it".
The point as we see it though is that the current system is broken, and does need to be fixed.
The point, as we the players see it, is that WE pay the bills, andstronglyopposethe changes your forcing.

One of the dumbest ideas to date. What I really want to know is.. what's next? I'm trying to think of another part of the game that works as well as crafting/experimentation that they can destroy ... drawing a blank here, somebody help... Maybe shuttles only arrive every 20 minutes?
Why not increase the cost of cloning on advanced planets? Or one of 500 ideas that have been posted to fix the economy...
Simply amazing are the lengths that the devolpers of this game are willing to go to totally mutilate it...
I was just thinking novice professions work entirely too well.
