You've got my vote Darth...

On my other idea... would a *free space* we can actively walk around in our space ship during flight... man the turrents... etc, etc... be feasable? Or do you think just limited to the X-Wing add on and like what you said for the occasional player?

On Game Economics:

To a certain extent... I can see getting resources seems to drive up prices on *the best* items. But I'd like to see a more realistic economy based on, just for example, The West End game books for the Star Wars rpg.

Going by those... one of the best melee weapons... A Double Vibro Blade went for 6000 credits... and that was a top of the line weapon... and most regular weapons cost only 500-900 credits with only things like Imperial Blaster Rifles ever reaching 1000 credits.

And on vehicles... a speeder bike was actually a lot easier to get than a land speeder... and most costly one out of the existing three *in game*, the swoop, only cost 7000 new in the rpg.

On the Ahazi server... I'm actually toying with working with the community to get prices to reasonable... more of a Star Wars feel priced system.

I'm still all for standard npc vendors having every weapon/piece of equipment in game available to us at standard rates too... and, yes, have them be standardized... not as good as if a player made them and not sliceable... etc, etc... but there none the less. I at least could grasp the high selling costs then... my belly turns up every time I see something sold in game because I'm so used to a *Star Wars based* economy.

Any ideas on this? Flame away... I know plenty of the vets in game told me this was a *bad* idea for the game.

Sincerely,

The Lunatic Fringer

Just say Yes to Nightvision equipment and the like!!! I'm all for it... this opens up a new realm too... Infra red as well. This way... assumming you have the equipment... you can still see that *mark* running behind the player building during a sand storm at night on Tatooine. New technical equipment certainly would add new flavor to the game.

Racial abilities play into this too... is it Trandoshans... or Barabels I'm thinking that have infra red?

In the online Q&A held a few months ago (not the most recent one, the one before that) it was mentioned the Wookiees would be getting some sort of battle protection.

Have we already seen this in the form of the BE Clothing?

If yes: Can there be schematic changes to allow wooks to gain stacked bonuses withinthe clothing, or make it possible for wooks to wear two shoulder pads?

If no: Not looking for dates here, but just wondering if it is "In Concept" or if it is still "In dreaming" phase......

Entertainers role in the game =))

here aer some ideas that I just like to get said =)

the Music and Dance prof needs improvment as well.. here are some ideas that probebly not will hapen but at least I have said them =))

Music/Dance

Make them like crafting systems with a tweak of ID.. meaning ..

make a compose window where u can use the already predefind flourishes to creat your own new melodys and dances and just as in ID u get more choices then the normal ones the better u become.. "not that it's like u can chose a song or dance when u creat your character" =)..

and the own made songs/dances can contain 10 flourishes at master title.. and u get more flourishes then u alerady have with the songs today in all the songs that is ..

so what u can do is that u can mix whatever flourishes u like in your own song/dance.. and of course u need to teach the others to play/dance the one that u created..

in other words u can make the beats and song tunes and dance moves to your own composed song/dance.

and a buff from a own created song/dance could go faster and last a bit longer and even be a bit better =)

ok on the Music.. there is the omnni box and the bandfill.. please make different beats on them.. there is lots off rythmic instrument u can diff them with just not exactly the same.. please..

and on the dance.. merge exotic 1 and 2 and exotic 3 and 4.. so there is 8 different flourish instead of just 4 in those dances..

ok here comes another thing on the Entertainers..

add jugling and fire breathing/eating acts.. the juggling has 1000 off paterns to put in a few acts.. and u can juggle with knifes balls and u can do it in large groups as well.. it can become really nice when a group off ppl are juggling accross to eachothers..

same with the fire acts there is loads off moves that can be put together as acts and it also looks really nice when ppl do in groups.. these would deffinetly higher the ent proffs no matter if u chose to put these acts in the Entertainer tree or one act each in music and dance tree.. u can make it only as 2 or 3 acts of each it would be great u could put them on all the master titles for example so each gets it owns special act..

well enough with my wishfull thinking =))))))

but these profs needs improvment as well.. please dont forget them.

I thank the ppl that read this idea and Im aware abut that most probebly nothing of this will be done..

thanks again all =)))

* Citizens will now be removed from a city if they haven't been online for about 3 weeks.

This is bad in so many ways.

If the devs think that this will stop cross server trades, they are wrong. It just means that the cross server people will have to log in to each other's servers every few weeks.

This also penalizes people who have to travel for business, family, and especially the military. I have some friends who are in the military - if they get a 3 or 6 month deployment, but still pay their 15 bucks a month, they should not be penalized for serving their country by having a potentially messed community to come back to.

Also, of course, some people save up their vacation time to take a nice holiday trip for up to and over 3 weeks - pretty steep price to pay in game.

There is another issue here. I beleive that the devs think that this will cause people to put pressure on their friends to come back to the game. This won't work - many people who left the game left because of the grind aspects. This is another grind type aspect.

With that said, ironically, many people that I know are re-activating, mostly due to new content. Part of this content for them is the city that we have built. Yes, some of the houses in our city are owned by people who are on hiatus. Destroy the cities that are in this situation, and there will be a further loss of reasons for people to come back.

There is one other problem to add to this long list of reasons why this is a bad idea. If the city looses some people due to this and starts to shrink, it may not be possible to re-arrange houses so that people can keep the city from shrinking into oblivion. Why? Becasue the core houses may be the ones that are gone... and since there is no way to move someone else's house, the city could slide down into oblivion even if there are still 60++ active residents.

Things I see in the coming months that will RUIN swg:

-The new HAM system. You guys said you didn't want to make this EQ In Space. Well guess what? With the new HAM changes, the lack in specials able to be used, you are doing Forced Grouping - an element of EQ. I can tell you right now you are going to lose a nice chunk of the players b/c of the new HAM system.

-Imperial Crackdown. What should in canon be a crackdown on Rebels who just blew up an expensive weapon such as the Death Star - in turn it is more of a harsh crackdown on any Imperials who have Spice, Slicing Tools, Republic Blasters (???) and other items. This is just lame. Now I can see if you tie it in to SMUGGLERS carrying these items and being able to BRIBE inspectors. You'd actually give us smugglers PURPOSE if you did that (make it though so MASTERS have like 90+ bribe, so anybody below gets caught and Masters can get off scott free. This would deny any dabblers the pleasure and make Master more pleasurable).

-Dabblers in Elite Professions. If you really want to penalize anybody, penalize dabblers of Elite Professions. You need to make MASTERING things more pleasurable. Move things like Buying Faction Points up to Master for Smuggler, and do the same with other professions. You would lose more players with the HAM changes than with getting rid of the rampant dabbling.

Those are the three things I see that really need addressed before whatever it is on live and in concept goes LIVE. B/C as of right now, if that HAM thing goes live and forces me to group ALL THE TIME - well you've lose a player whose been playing since Beta in an MMO that he's stayed playing for more than a month.

You know you have issues when longstanding players quit the game b/c of a stupid fix you devs deem will "help" us players, but in essence it really hurts us.

An idea:

The IMPERIAL HOLONET NEWS.

Right now, there is no way for your average citizen of this galaxy to get the news. What's going on? Who knows? Since we never find anything out. No newspapers, no holostations...

There should be terminals where someone could pull up the news... local, planet-specific, galaxy-wide...

Now sure, most of the time these would be filled with Imperial propoganda, but every once in a while the Rebels could hack into the system too. Heck maybe it could even be set up so that the Mayor of given cities could submit local events.

These terminals should be found in cantina, hopitals, PA halls, hotels, starports, etc. Heck.. why not give players the options of putting terminals in their homes, and paying a "subscription fee" to use the service?

Thoughts?

I would like to see an Order book, that anyone could use, so they can make orders for people who want Equiptment/Goods. For Example :-

If you are a master CH and have a vendor but dont have a rancoron it and someone wants one. They could go to the book and write down what they would like the owner of the vendor to get them.

The owner would then go back to check what people would like on the vendor and for-fill their order making everone happy. :-)

Ok... few more things from the Lunatic:

1) yes... to the last post... standardized vendors with at least a version of every available item in game would be nice. Certain things should still be Quest items and/or loot though.

2) I'm feeling a little queezy about the new *HAM* system I'm hearing about across the Combat boards... don't force us to group if we don't want to... that equals bad idea. The option to group or not should be based upon wanting to be in a group... not we *have* to do it to get anywhere. Exceptions, of course, Krayts and the like shouldn't be solo'ed unless we're allowed to use some bizarre tactics of doing it eventually... aka... luring them into minefields... something like that. Overall... no... no forced grouping please. I group often because it's enjoyable and fun... it won't be if I know I'm being forced to do it though. The rule of thumb here being... only make certain things a grouping need to. Certain creatures and quests is fine with me.

3) The AP pt system could use some work... Sometimes... there just aren't any people to train and it's silly to have to have a friend sit and train/delete/retrain in one skill just for us to get the proper AP pts sometimes... needs to be an alternative way to get AP pts in my view. Even if this equals... spend lots of credits for AP or lots of Faction to get it.

4) With all the client crashes some of us experience and server instability sometimes... here's an outstanding idea... if we're told to scan our files but it crashes every time we try to do it... how about this:

Make a page where we can go download each of the patchs for the game manually!!!

Then we could download the patches and have them on file to do a *quick* reload of the game if necessary. I think this would work out wonders for some of us. Maybe even encourage some of us to do Test Center!!! Of which... I guess we need 10 slots each really. Just give us one for Test Center... Then we've got our Force slot... and our max 8 characters.

Ideas? Flames?

Sincerely,

The Lunatic Fringer

Please stay on topic in the specific threads. If you have general questions about the process, please ask in this thread.

I have a general question. I would like to know why the current profession system was designed the way it was. I would like to know why do I have to be a Novice Smuggler to learn Slicing? Why do I have to learn how to fight, and learn how to use a Pistol, before I can become a Smuggler? Surely there were smugglers who used rifles, or nothing at all, and didn't know how to fight with their hands. In this game though, no.

I'm not a fan of how the game determines that if you want to be a Bounty Hunter, your going to be proficient in carbines or pistols. Whos to say that some of the best Bounty Hunters are experts in hand to hand combat? Or long ranged rifles? Or use poison?

I guess what I'm trying to communicate is that I don't like how some of the professions in SWG have these requirements.

I think that these professions should be just that ... professions ... and not tied into a skill. If I want to become a Bounty Hunter, I shouldn't have to be a master of Marksmanship or Scouting .... I should only have to be able to kill my mark.

So I'm curious why this system was done the way it was. I'm all for some hierarchy ... you need to learn how to shoot a rifle before becoming a sniper ... but I'm not all for some of the hierarchy as it is now (i.e.I need to learn how to shoot a pistol before slicing a computer?) I guess I'm more for a linear way to learn various skills (You are given a character, and can invest in different areas such as computers, marksmanship, outdoorsmanship ...instead of different professions). I shouldn't have to learn how to fight and shoot a pistol to learn to slice ... I should only need to learn how to slice, or before that, how to operate a computer.

TH, are we ever going to get new music added to SWG?

It was mentioned a long time ago that you guys would be doing so. This game needs more MUSIC.
