Devs,

I am wondering if the landspeeders will allow multiple occupancy (2 players or 1 player with pets)???

Just curious...

Well, the speeders look nice and all... But they really need to watch the movies again. The speeders shown were doing about half the speed that the movie versions were doing.

BTW - Thanks Droid for the mirror

Cutting to the chase, we're making them as fast we possible can...

wow - 243 meg clip!

Good thing I didn't try to download it at home... From work it took 54 seconds to download - but is taking 3 minutes to copy from memory to the hard drive =D

The only problem I saw was lack of a good video compress and no knowelge of bandwidth useage.

You think they would have tried to make the file small and knowing 300k ppl are going to try to download soon after it's posting; "Ya think they would have been a litle more user friendly"...yeah right.

I finally downloaded the 250MB monster video, I was expecting like a 30 minute long video showing off the vechicles.

I was instead presented a 1 minute video showing off the vechicles, in DV video format with completely uncompressed PCM audio. I used GSpot to confirm my theory.

Devs, go up the chain of command and fire the moron that thought it was OK to post that video. DV format and uncompressed PCM audio is NOT internet friendly, at all. Take the player compressed WMV and post that, or compress the video into Quicktime (ick) and post that, but remove that horrible 250MB video.

I'm sure IGN is loving having their bandwidth owned and are going to love their monthly bandwidth bill from the many people downloading this huge video.

Other than that, the video WAS neat and I will be checking out test server when I get off work.

Nice vid, file size was a shocker though.. although I just went late night shopping while Getright got it for me.

Dunno if anyone else has said it in the last 10 pages, but since when does a 74-Z have a central engine? The model on my desk has one on each side. Has anyone at SOE looked at an AMT/ERTL kit per chance?
Score one more for the continuity folks

some one said swoop should be faster than speeder bike...thats not true...speeder bikes are used by the military..Clone troopers...storm troopers......so why would the military use slower bikes?

It would be like comparing something like a Polaris 6x6 (The Australian SAS use them for recon) to something like a V8 race car.. sure it may have it basis in a production model, but let a bunch of engineers loose on it tweaking stuff, and it'll leave the stock standard military kit behind.
Military stuff is made to budjet, personal racing stuff is made to spec and don't worry about the credits.

Leave it to SOE to make something that can be done in 20 megs take up 300. No wonder they need tens of terrabytes in server storage systems.

whoever asked about the machine for the video. i run a 2.3 ghz with 1gb of ram, 128MB geforce 5 , and my gfx look a touch better i think, than the vid file. so im sure they are running what i am or better...the just dont have all the gfx turned up i guess. maybe to keep the focus on the vehciles.....i gets pretty busy on the screen with all the options turned full up.

lol. I downloaded the movie and converted it to Divx 5.1 with 128 kbit audio and it's only 7.5-ish MB compared to what... 250 MB? obserd!
