I am not sure if this has been fixed because it had not happened in a little while but sometimes when I get a /tell it says Human tells you instead of there name so when I try to reply I can't.

None of the commando titles make sense, and grenadeer is spelled wrong (even though it applies to a skill-set related to using flamethrowers, which is unrelated anyways...)
I believe carbiniers have their titles mispelled too on some skill trees (and probably some others.) The lack of title correspondence to skill-sets annoys me more than any other text mismatch/error I've seen in-game.

Thanks everybody. I've compiled all of your finds in a document that is sitting by my computer. Text bugs are generally considered "Polish" level, which means Devs will likely always have higher level tasks on their plate. I've also got a lot of other things on my plate, but I'll make some time to start hitting these. I look at it like a puzzle. You are giving me the pieces (as well as the Bug Database) and I'll fit a couple in place every few days when I have time. They won't actually go live until a monthly publish (starting with the Droid Invasion one).
I'm now working on some of the combat spam (where it says him in place of he or his - or in the tool terms %OT instead of %ST or %PT). Also I'll correct as many "Carbineer"s as I can find. All three spelling are accepted variants, but upon polling the community a few months ago, the Carbineer community strongly indicated the spelling they prefer. So Carbineer it is.
Feel free to list more text issues as you find them. The more detail you give me, the easier it will be for me to track down the correct text file to update.
Thanks!

Thanks for finally getting around to this, Q! ![]()
"Polish" level or not, you wouldn't believe how different a feel a game can have when everything is spelled right.

Wow, just found this thread in the Dev Tracker after Q replied and it's already pretty long. I didn't have time to go over all the replies to look for one particular instance that comes to mind, but I'd like to point out that the Huurton Huntress is referred to as "him" and "he" in the combat spam as well as in emote text, such as "you pet him." I can't remember for sure, but I believe the Picket females are tagged the same way.
Hope that wasn't redundant, and hope it helps a lil!

Just to add my own observations:
In the skill sheet, the apprenticeship tooltip says: "This experience is gained purely from teaching other player's skills."
I am not teaching the skills of other players, so there should be no apostrophe. Personally, I would reword it to: "This experience is gained purely by teaching skills to other players."
In the character sheet, the focus tooltip says: "The higher your Focus attribute is, the less Mind points will be needed to perform a given skill or action."
It really should say "fewer Mind points", not "less Mind points". The same goes for the tooltips for Strength and Quickness.
Just judging from the way they work it seems that vehicles and droids are really just special case pets, and share most of the same functionality. Nevertheless, the message "You cannot sample DNA from that pet." is a little strange if I have my speeder targeted.
The help page explaining the different types of resources and the where you can use them seems like it was written by an object oriented programmer.
One other little thing I don't quite understand is that if you do a player search, if only one matching player is found it will tell you that one player is found, but if it finds more than one, it will say that that number +1 has been found.
I know that these are all little picky things, but, as was said before, they're all a matter of polish.

Heheh...
Don't know if this has been reported in this thread but the Commando tier 4 titles are a *tad* off (they still are referring to the old beta scheme for commandos where they made their own weapons)
- Field Tactics 4 currently says "Artillerymen", but given the grenade cert's we get in the branch, I think it should be "Grenadier"
- Heavy Support Weapons 4 currently says "Expert Commando", given the heavy weapons certs we get in the branch, I think it should be "Artilleryman"
- Flamethrower Spec. 4 currently says "Grenadeer", however, I feel it should be more Flame Thrower related
- Acid Rifle Spec. 4 currently says "Ordnance Manufacture", however we do not manufacture any weapons. The title should be replaced with either something to do with the Acid Rifle, or something to the effect of "Expert Commando"
Thanks!

Good work Q. Yes, they will say (they=dev and players alike) that spelling is of little importance. But beauty is in the details...
