Thread: ID#2: Two Changes to Bazaars and Vendors

I vote no on both.
For the bazaar limit, 3k is within easy reach of (most) newbies. 6k is more difficult. The first thing you would see is *not* items priced in the 3k-6k range, but rather stack sizes increasing to put everything up to 6k. It may or may not cause inflation in general, but it'll make it that much harder for people without a lot of money to buy things off the bazaar.
For the vendor limit, 150 is an arbitrary value and useless to nearly everyone. If you want to limit it, have different vendors cap it at different capacities. Put a 150 cap on the basic vending machine, and increment it upwards according to the skill of the merchant who placed it, with the "best" vendor maxing out at maybe 1,500 items, but costing more in maintenance. A tiered structure works much better than an arbitrary limit.

I like the second paragraph. Right now, there areonly two real incentives for Merchant skills in terms of vendors:
1. Increased number of vendors.
2. Increased ability to choose the "look and feel" of a given vendor.
With the second paragraph, Merchant skills would actually improve the quality of a vendor, as well. Combine that with the ability to allow Merchants to grant "placement rights" to other characters on their vendors, perhaps in varying quantities (in other words, formalize a system by which other non-Merchant characters could use Merchant vendors to sell items), and Merchant becomes a much more worthwhile class to master.

Limit the Number of items on the vendor NO I dont like that at all the reason being because of the fact that I have 2 crafters and have the max number of vendors per character and some times it is better and easier to make a large run of some things such as food and drink that go so fast it would be a full time deal and no game time to just keep the vendor stocked.
I am totally against the limits to the vendors being set and think this will cause a lot of issues with crafters that want to craft and still spend time in the battle side of the game.
I for one may drop the venders if I cant keep them stocked due to the lack of space on them to just load them and be done with them for a Week at a time.

If we make a large run due to the fact that we are limited to a 10 lot per character option to make a home do harvesters not to mention the tents as well as if you do a guild hall. The PA hall takes all but ONE lot, which is insane in my opinion and is way to HIGH for the hall that is needed for your guild.
Now we have added the city options that require lots also factories that are needed to even make the stuff that is sold on the venders and bazaar. Where would we store the product that we create while we wait to add them to the venders if you changed the numbers allowed to add?
Are you going to give us more lots to add houses for storage to hold the items we cannot add to the vender?
If you want to change, limits look at the number of lots given to each character and the requirements it takes to some items such as the Guild PA Hall...

The thing that should be changed is all these people with Merchant vendors who are not Merchants.I am a Master Art. Arch. and Merch. In just furniture alone i keep ten of each piece of furniture i can make. Now with city stuff (streetlamps 16 different types) I spend a lot of time in the restocking of sold out items and dont want to spend all my gametime restocking. Please please please rethink this and dont put a cap on vendors.
The bazarr change... whatever 3k 6k, dont matter to me.
but.
the vendor change. i think is a very bad idea.... to me its just another stupid limit.
I understand needing to limit it perhaps becuase of overload but keep the limit at like 500 items or so. 150 just isn't enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
150 items JUST ISN'T ENOUGH!!!
Bazzar cap.... 6 to 10 K good deal........
Vendor Cap.... very good deal.... Maybe that way the merchants would keep their vendors better stocked. I have spent many days searching for this or that only to check 300 empty vendors. CAP THEM!!!

I'm sorry, but how will reducing the number of items that can be stocked on a vendor, thus making the vendor sell out quicker, help you to find less empty vendors? You'll find less vendors, I bet, and a higher % of the remaining vendors will be empty.
