Thread: A sort of state of the game
I would like to echo some of LichMasterX's comments. Although I really like this game, I would like to see more elements of Star Wars init rather than elements of Final Fantasy (ie - your pets being tougher than you are). Was it Han Solo who said, "All you need is a good blaster at your side"?
I do appreciate the fixes and the other basic customer service updates---It's good to see that you are trying to be responsive to our needs. But I implore you----Bring more content into this game! The main complaints that I hear from people is that the game gets boring because it is so repetitive. We need more depth of content rather than breadth.
I gotta give props to Pash Aylor on the Valcyn server. His roleplayingevents really motivate people to want to get involved. Maybe the developers can learn from his example.
Just a few thoughts I had to share. Overall, you guys are doing a good job.

When are the constant game crashes with the 11/13/03 patch going to be fixed? I have submitted 19 bug reports (one for each crash) since the patch went live. I've crashed while sitting still and chatting, combat, crafting, loading, and even filling out a bug report on the crashes. This game is unplayable for those of us that are getting these crashes. I have called Tech Support and all my drivers are updated, they don't know what's wrong (they deny it's a problem with the game), I have submitted tickets but the CSR's say that the QA team is looking at the problems. I would like an answer from someone that knows what's going on. I will be calling the accouting department and demand that I get credit since the game is completely unplayable in it's current condition. My lag still isn't fixed from the 10/8/03 patch. I see this patch as a mistake and was loaded without enough proper testing.

Just one thing:
Make an attempt at implementing alternateunlocking systems that are more dynamic in nature for FSCS other than profession-grinding.
Please.
If you can measure the metrics you're talking about, why can't a more dynamic system be put in place rather than: master these professions, place a house here, presto...
Also, let's not forget our poorer entertainer and healing professions who can't afford to outright buy Holocrons off combatant characters. It sort of does discrimate who gets to unlock Jedi. I suppose it "forces" them to play a different type of game, ie. - forcing crafters (unless they're rich, mind you!), entertainers, and healers to become combatants, and vice versa.
This sort of gaming isn't fun. Sure, try different things. Something like an explorer POI tracking system coupled static NPC mission tracking system, and even a system that tracks the number of words that don't pass the profanity filter, or how many times they kill in PvP etc. - something dynamic, random, and calculated to take a lot of gaming - not necessarily grinding professions you don't want.
And that's all it is. Grinding. It forces people to pick up and drop professions that they simply don't want to and won't play. Also, the profession turnover has thrown the economy in chaos at least on my server. Old crafters with lots of experience and know-how are suddenly with empty stockrooms and "Gone Holocron Grinding" signs on their shop doors.
Not cool.

Ive had the same thing happen, but only occasionally. I get to the mission and there is a nice orange waypoint there and no nest.
But it isnt all the time, only once in awhile.

Can I hear an amen!
I mastered image design last night (4 hours 45 min, start to finish), put my tag up for about 10 min, did 3 makeovers and promptly dropped all of it and started on my next mindless grinding assignment....Fun? No.
Missing missions seem to happen when u (also) have a NPC mission. To get rid of it: got to an NPC, ask for a job, he will tell you you already have a job and wehther u want to cancel that. Say yes. Your sorted.
Hope this solves your problem. And if it does: it should be made sticky somewhere in a Problems and Solution Forum.
State of the mission atm ?
Easy its duller then watching paint dry. thats unless you wanna become a jedi and feel like changing professions all the time offcourse. A game that relys on constant profession changes for content is as low as it can get. The last patch ruined this game and im very curious to see if they will fix it in the vehicles patch. I dont know anyone atm whos not considering leaving the game if things dont improve fast, most of us wanna group every day and alot not 1 hunt with more then 3 people once a week for krayts or similar.
Most popular advanced professions:
- Creature Handler
Most commonly mastered advanced professions:
- Creature Handler
There is the true state of the game.
To get anywhere in this game and to even try to be on an even footing you need to have a pet.
I left UO because of all the Tamers, thinking that "SWG is star wars, blasters, smuggling, ships and all that good stuff".
What do I find when I get into the game?TAMERS !!
Every player has a pet to help with his killing.
This isn't Star Wars, it's bloody **edit**.
Now that is **edit** funny, post the above message and it instantly edits out the word.
CENSORSHIP LIVES !!!
The word is, of course P#O#K#E, M#O#N.
