Instead of deleting the board, just anounce there will be no developers reading the fourm, that would leave an area for SWG discussion amoung the players. Those looking for Dev involvment will wait until the appropriate thread is posted and others will use this forum to continue discussions amoung ourselves

BlueOxMaybe you should see about getting your nose surgically removed from their butt! It is not about ideas, it is about the fact that this game is completely bug ridden and there is no help from the CSR or the Devs. Look at the bigger picture!

This whole thing is being done to stop the negative feedback that is displayed all over the boards about bugs that are consistantly being promised to be fixed and not. We are the paying customers, and I don't think it is too much to ask to get a little feedback on what they are doing to fix these problems. The only thing these new boards are going to accomplish is shutting up all the people that wish to bring these issues to light, instead of people like you who bow down with the:

"We're not worthy..."

attitude to the devs. And if you want to bring EQ up in this, maybe you should consider the fact that EQ doesn't have nearly the problems that this game has. I was a full time EQ player before SWG and if they can get it right in EQ, that is a perfect model for most common issues involving server abilitie and load balancing. So before you try insulting other people, why don't you get your facts straight.

I also am in the multimedia design arena, and I am quite aware of the bugs and issues that can happen, so I am a very patient person when it comes to these things. But SOE's business practice and Customer Service practice is a joke. If this was happening in any other company involving a paid service there would be a number of pink slips handed out. Yes the forums are filled with alot of meaningless posts but that is why you hire a full tiime moderator to weed it out and give the important information to the developers, not limit the forum posts to I AM THE DEVELOPER AND YOU WILL ONLY SPEAK ON WHAT I DEEM NECESSARY!

I just posted under ID#2 and i really get this idea now. Specific questions with specific answers is a real great way to get a message to the DEVs with less personality conflict.
Hopefully, this high level of exchange will continue between patrons and DEVs.

For all the people so thrilled that they will start problem threads and deal with it, i will give you my last experiance with in game csr

Im sorry you didnt get your politician exp, but you dont get exp thru your city updating its gained in the politican line. Thanks please delete your ticket.

After 4 days i finally get an email from i assume the csr supervisor that they will meet me and ifx it.

This idiot that is supposed to help doesnt even send me a tell he emails me so i have to wait for his next idiotic response. 4 days this went on tell i finally asked for a supervisor to email me.

But yeh im extremly confident that they will be right on top of the issues, just like the csr that had no idea how a politician gains exp.

Shall we also bring up the promise MONTHS ago when they had dbase issues that house storage would be increased, were is that thread?

Or how about there last droid fix that went over as well as a turd in a punch bowl?

Ow im confident in there ability to be right on top of it all.

How many bugs still exist in game? Where are those threads?

Sorry thunder but your starting out the new year as a great employee with soe interest at heart, to bad you started out as an employee with our interest at heart. But then again we all need our pay checks

"SWG? Multiplayer? oh yeah... If I had 1 penny for every time the phrase "solo group" was spoken in 1 single day of SWG I could retire. LOL. We'v got to face that this isent a multiplayer game, its a multiple person interaction simulation single player role playing game... So its a. MPISSPRPG. "-Me

TH along with the changes to the official forum, can you see if they can make the login remember everyones passwords?

It may work for some people, iv even tried putting sony.com in my allowed cookies part. I find it ironic that it remembers that the "remember password box" is always checked, but it doenst remember my log in and I have to type it all again. It gets very annoying after 5 months of this, every other website I go to remembers my info, why cant sony's.

reminded me to delete my old sig from my other forum account

TH,

The closure of the Gen Discussion forum is a move in the right direction. All of the proposed Forum changes work, except forone small change. Let's open "In Concept" to everyone. Customers need a place to post their non-profession ideas and suggestions. To raise above the clutter make Developer's posts sticky.

part of the reason the forums exist is just for us players, not always for you devs. with that said i think its a bad idea to "remove" the discussion forum.

sometimes i get tired of chatting in my Corbantis forum. these days 1/2 of the posts is about some lame drama involving 2 guilds on our server. sometimes i like to head over to the discussion forum to see what everyone "else" is talking about. its the best spot to get a good cross section of all the galaxies.

the discussion forum is where everyone that "knows what they're talking about" (and a lot of people that dont, i admit) go to discuss things. smart person 1from Ahazi is never going to go chat with smart person 2from Bria in smart person 3's thread in Corbantis forum. therefor these 3 smart people will never get a chance to collaborate on any good ideas without a discussion forum.

So has this topic reached the pummeling of the expired equine state. Is it a given that Discussions are history in spite of what your customers want. The tragedy of this marketing scheme is that you've gotten people to think it's ok to loose one of the games communication tool.

Obviously P.T. Barnum was right about those suckers.

Maybe just me (don't think so though), but I have up to now only made A+ experience with customer support. That is true in being competent, friendly and really trying to resolve the issue. Speed also has improved greatly. This may be a little off-topic, but just felt like mentioning my experience as of the previous poster.

Perhaps though as myself having worked in Mog CSR, I may judge and sense things a little differently. May help knowing what can be done and what can't be done. Well, in general it just helps applying common sense, if you can.

Just my 2 Cents.
