Thread: Publish 10 Feedback, “The Jedi Trials”: Live Issues and Open Discussion
On the FS thing. Lot of pissed off people in game tonight (of course most of them logged off after finding out what was going on). If you think this is going to blow over, you have another thing coming. A lot of people have had enough. If that is not apparent to you from reading the threads, then your hopeless. Part of the problem is your system for gating, but the bigger issue is your total lack of candor with the players who are paying for this game. You knew well in advance how you were going to do it. You knew the player base was going to react negatively. So instead of being proactive and working with the player base ahead of time, you dump it on live day and then provide some half ass answers when it suited you. But the best part is that NO ONE is surprised. It's par for the course as they say. Standard operating procedure for SOE and this development team.
- Been playing the game for over a year now.
- Attained Master in at least 2 professions pre-"profession badge"
- Before Christmas, played my tail off attempting to discover how to open the FSCS.
- After Christmas, I reluctantly destroyed my character by joining in the hologrind craze. While I didn't hologrind all 32 professions, I did get to my silent holo (long before the limit was raised from 5 to 8), and went through a dozen professions. It took forever, because I avoided the use of macros and tried to play my way through my professions. I stopped grinding becase, as we were all told, there would now be a quest-based, RPG-style method of attaining a Jedi character.
- Attainedover 80 badges, including 2 Corvette badges, the Rebel, Jabba, and Nym theme park badges, 2 of the three story arc badges (I completed the story arc, but missed the first badge), both Warren badges, all 45 POIs, etc.
- I'm "glowy", as the parlance goes in-game (i.e., "You feel an inner glow. The Force is with you.")
And now, here I stand about 1700m south of Mos Entha, attempting to get a random NPC to visit me, not knowing if I'm wasting hours of online time standing in one spot, hoping that after a year of play I'll be rewarded.
So, why is it thatroleplayers such as I are being penalized once again while those whoran AFK macros and played the game mechanics, rather than the game, over the lastfew months to grind all 32 professions suddenly go to the head of the line? Do you know how frustrating it is to listen to someone who spent three months "playing" (I use the term loosely, as grinding 32 professions in three months isn't "playing", it's just exercising a user interface) complain because they unlocked, but they haven't yet been visited today? At least the hologrinder is "guaranteed" a visit. As far as I know, I could be visited before I finish typing this sentence, or before the next server reset, or before the end of the week, or before the next Ice Age. I have no clue what "group" I'm in, when I'm going to be "allowed" to seek the Force, or even if it's friggin' worth it!
Why, oh why, did you once again cater to the short-attention-span crowd? Did you figure that "hey, if they haven't quit by now, they'll never quit?"

When he does /checkforcestatus, it gives him the "strong" message instead of the "glow" message. That means that although he has unlocked, he will not be automatically allowed into the village with the first group. This has to be a bug.I attribute the bug to the fact that he did 5 professions (including 3 holocron professions) before the game awarded badges for mastering professions, as I can not think of any other badges he is missing.Either way...unlocking SHOULD = automatic admittance, and that is not happening.(p.s. disabling the "Submit Bug" feature in the Holocron was a nice touch...I and 3 others were trying to bug report issues we found and it said the system was inactive. Way to support your playerbase on patch day!)(2) A player city on Dantoonine on Naritus (Confluentes) has TOTALLY disappeared off the planetary map, along with all of its city services (cantina, shuttle, etc.) It was on the planetary last night when I logged off, and is now not listed anymore.
FYI, the /bug command from the command line DOES still work.
You can turn your back on a person, but never turn your back on a drug-HST
