ACK! One big problem I have with this patch: (not documented anywhere, and I cant figure out how to make it go back to pre-patch)

Movement! Now when I move my mouse (in the altted mode) to the edge of the screen I no longer rotate the camara only, now I move my character this KILLS speeders for me... I'm going to look in my options window to see if anything was reset or magically checked by this patch, but if this is a new feature, please take it out...

Thanks,

Nice patch so far

pls fix:
- stomach after clone (does not empty)
- bring Warcry back (maybe with a timer of 6s for WC1 and 12s for WC2)
- fix MagSealContainer (if they are not sliceable why they are locked at all?)

During publish 6 I purchased a BE pet for 150k. It was a CL10 gurrcat with ~2k HAM, 30-40 dmg and KD as special attack 2. During this time KD didn't work. So fine... I waited until pub7 so that the KD would work.

Today I call my pet and it says the stats are invalid. I have 2 choices. I can either lower the stats of the pet or raise the CL. The only reason I purchased this pet was its HAM and KD.

This is from the patch notes for pub7:

Pets
Added additional checks for invalid pets. Invalid pets (stats out of acceptable range, incorrect level for stats, etc) will not be able to called from the Datapad.

That's fine but this is a BE purchased pet. Instead of stealing my 150k, why not make it so these types of pets can't be crafted? As it is now I am out 150k and have a pet that I doesn't serve the purpose it was purchsed for.

forgot something..

i don't mind loot in the game. everything being crafted is just fine with me.
but if you put loot in the game as you did please fix some things:
- just looted a rebel transmission from the tusken king - i mean this is .... LOL
- risk and reward system - don't put loot worth a few millions into a cave with blue-con-nonagro-mobs

Ok, well i'm going architect so i spent my time yesterday in my house crafting candles/lights and decorating! w00t i love the up/down commands! lol i'm such a dork!! Anyway only thing that bugged me was the light the new objects put off. I would think that candles would put of a glow simelar or the torch, since they are both fire. and the standing lights are way to bright! They hurt my eyes and make it hard to see things around them in the room.

yeah i know stupid problems right? I just feel people place lights/candles to add to the atmosphere of a room not detract from it.

Great publish so far. Only got to play about 3 hours last night, but here's my impressions:

I'm master doc. I knocked out a few Enhance Quickness packs night before publish. Was getting 767 power on these buff packs. City was research enchanced, so very few crit fails on experimentation and each 1 point good success experiment was giving me about 7% increase in the property I was experimenting on. When I reached around 50%, each good success increased the value only 4% for the entire range of the property I was experimenting on. Post publish, each good success resulted in a 4% increase in the given property throughout the whole range of experimentation. Best I could do was a 500 level buff. Please reinstate old crafting ASAP. Is this still due to take place today (Wed?) I think the logic behind wanting to make the changes seems sensible, but please understand - crafters have in their mind a set sequence of properties they will experiment on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (ie. For buffs, I'll max power first, then # of uses) regardless of how well they do. I'll keep trying to pump up my buff pack power until I max it out, or run out of experimentation points. By implementing the change in the publish, what's happening is simply a huge nerf of all crafted items in the game. It does nothing in my opinion to equalize within a profession. If this change were to stay in, crafting experimentation tapes would be absolutely priceless. I think what's really behind this change is that SOE feels that the items in the game are too powerful. If that's the case, don't address this problem by killing the crafters - change the items themselves or the decay rates, etc.

Ran to Talus because avian meat is decent there right now on Tarq. Couldn't find any spawns, so decided to try out a few POI's. Took advantage of the vehicle changes you all put in. Nice change...it definitely has my approval.

My impression was that my surgical droid would have some type of battery meter on it that indicated power remaining. Didn't see anything of the sort. Maybe I'm misinterpreting this???

My night finished by hunting down a fellow guild mate who is working on smuggler. Throughout the night, I had looted 3 locked containers (has this been increased, or was I just lucky?). Gave the containers to my guild buddy who opened them up. I always love how no matter how good or bad the contents of these things are, the smuggler always says, "OMG!!!!" and follows that with a long pause. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there wondering whether its more CDEF's, or something awesome. He then says to me that I've got 3 items that are worthless and 1 item worth 300k. He gave em back and I was happy to see my first force crystal in there - a blue one!!! Left that evening happy.

Nice job implementing and communicating the patch to us. Keep the communication coming, its what we thrive on (especially when I'm in here at work and can't play). Please also reimplement the old crafting/experimentation system ASAP.

I think SWG is the only game that I know of with 1 beta server and 25 test servers.
I mean, really... who does the configuration management? If I was the person responsible for that, I'd be embarassed.

Yes, I understand that some things simply wont be found until its live, but most of the issues being brought up could have been found easily with even moderately competant testing. (I mean come on, GCW stands for Gamers Cant Win, right?)

Please, please, please! Test "updates" thoroughly before asking us to test them for you. Less microsoft policy. (couldn't resist)

After they have been thoroughly tested, put updates on the test server... and then LISTEN to the feedback, and MAKE CHANGES based on that feedback. I know you do as good a job as you can, TH, but many times I feel that our information isn't communicated to the dev team productively. Either you don't undestand us, or they don't understand you... or they don't care, or something. As I only get to see the far end of that chain of communication, I can't tell where its broken... but I can tell that it needs improvement. We need feedback as much as, if not more than, the developers do.

I mean really, when you post before the publish goes live, and say the publish is already locked and can't be fixed until the day after... what kind of policy is that? If the publish is broken... postpone it and fix it. If that gets some developer in trouble with their boss... Thats not my problem. Making us pay for their mistakes isn't going to win much support.

Note: I'm not talking about fundemental design changes. I'm talking about quality control. Any change that gets made will result in *someone* complaining, that comes with the territory. If you want to alter the game to render my choosen professions weaker, and make someone else's stronger... fine. I know you guys will do what you feel is best for the game as a whole (because your job depends on it), but I would honestly rather have smaller updates that are much more stable, robust, and most of all... expected. Expectations are more important than anything else when it comes to PR.

I expect changes to be well planned out, and explained in advance. I expect an analysis of anticipated impact, ahead of time. I also expect an evaluation of the actual impact, and detailed information on where it deviates. From time to time, you guys do that, and I applaud you. However, this needs to be standard for every single change, not just something that gets done properly from time to time.

Starwars is a complex, and specific environment to work within. I also know you guys give 110% to this game. Expectations are high, your customers are picky, perfectionistic, impatient, highly vocal when negative, and strangely silent when not. We are, however, on the same side. We want SWG to continually improve and grow towards its potential, and that potential is huge. Thats a tall order for anyone to fill, and I appreciate the hard work and effort that have gone into this game.

May the Force be with you

TH/Devs,
Please relate to us where do we find the droids in the wallpaper released for this publish.
Granted we wont have the background bots as pets, but are they even in the game?

They are NPCs in the Corellian Corvette.

Ok, so the NPC droids invaded Theed (Live event)and The Corellian Corvette.

Our pre-pre-NERF probots are armourless and useless.

Warcry/Intimidate has been NERFed.

You stealth NERFed Dizzy/KD (not surprised... was wondering how long it would take to break Teras Kasi being it was one of the few working Prof's.)

No additional Droid Blueprints.

Bases are now targettable as a new exploit. (Shoot till 0/100000 then wait for maintenance sweep.. base goes poof...)

A covert CM/Rifleman runs into a base with turrets, declares, and can shoot at base attackers. Attackers cannot get inside to kill said defender. Can't take out turrets because their range is 89 and to take them out you need to move within 64 and survive the poison/mind shots. Makes sense?

You can pull vehicles/pets/droids anywhere (thankfully)

BE pet stats have been forceably changed limiting the non-ch pets HAM (I only have mounts so that doesn't bug me so much but damn...)

Added new Mounts... Bantha and Cu-Pa. (cool)

Thankfully Carbinner has been addressed, these folks really needed it.

I don't understand the label Droid Invasion? Well except the fact that someone invaded my datapad in the middle of the night and stole my probots armour....

I don't understand why with every new theme patch SOE is missing the mark. People post all sorts of ideas and concepts which the community supports, Dev's say things like "good idea", they get our hopes up with patch names like "Imperial Crackdown" or "Droid Invasion". Then the actual patch just falls majorly short of community expectations. Then we have to go through weeks of complaining before anything gets fixed.

Thank God they listened to all the cries about Crafting Experimentation. Come on SOE, I know you can do better than this. Have you read the reviews on Gamespy and other sources. SWG is heading down a bad road and we all have such high expectations for you. Please, try to address what people are asking for instead of your marketting department.

Hell, I'm sure there are a multitude of players that would be willing to sign NDAs, pay extra monthly fees or whatever to become jedi characters on Test Center.

.. and Kaern responded
Ah yes, sign an NDA................. which would defeat the entire purpose of having those player's get Jedi to begin with since the only place they could test the Jedi thoroughly in a environment as close as possible to that of Live servers would be on Test Center

I agree. You have a valid point. Too bad my post was hastily deleted by the moderator. I believe I had made several other valid points that must have hit too close to home. I KNEW I should have saved it so it could have been posted on a player forum not maintained by SOE.

PLEASE fix the multiplier code on BARRELS FOR CHEF or remove them completely. Do we have to wait for publish 12 for them?

In the update notes under Chef Profession, you indicated spice downers would no longer incap players. Errr.. spice is smuggler, not chef. Thanks for the slap in the face. It had been a while.

That is it for today from me. 1-star or ignore me and move along.

Thank you.

My own observations.

Most of the Publish is ok.

However...This is what made me drop weaponsmith (Was Master on secondary character)

Created a DLT20 the night before the patch and the day of.

Same resources for all advanced components, same method of experimentation (All in Damage)

Night before: Max Damage: 225

Day of: Max Damage:185

There is absolutely no way this was good for me. I had trouble competing with other weaponsmiths before (Couldn't ever get enough resources) With this patch, I couldn't compete. I chose to drop weaponsmith because I know that if this eventually does stay, I will be one broke arse weaponsmith, because I can't afford the skill tapes tomake my experimentation points higher, and I don't have the time to camp like everyone else did, (or had people camp for them) I know resource stats matter....but come on....30 point difference using the same exact resources.....

I was highly unimpressed with the crafting.

Even on my primary character, I saw a difference.

Master Doc....Best resources I have available....Advanced components...Pre patch Stim B: 375 heal...Post patch: 348 heal.

Not sure where this is good for the community...when the new method results in lower quality items, when required stats are 850+ OQ and PE..... (used a fruit that had 991 OQ and polymer with 975 OQ for the final construction on both pre and post)

Irritation prevailed...and I dropped weaponsmith. the Doc stuff I can live with....because the enhancements were much better....Instead of ranging from 700-2700 on enhancements, I was getting average of 1500 on secondary stats and 2500 on primary stats. This is acceptible.

Also...Didn't notice if anyone else commented...are candles SUPPOSED to decay while in crates or inventory and not out and lit?

Well I think sony screwed the pooch on this one. As a master BE I really liked the changes, I cae out about even, but I didnt max everyting I made, made it feel more, well real.

I know a few Chefs that loved it and some weaponsmiths. Sure they were high end, with the extra tapes, but they still made better stuff.

tis a sad sad day, I really hope it comes back in soon
