Just so the devs know where I feel on this..... I don't mind too much that the maint droids didn't deposit energy. A harvester that has run out of energy won't rot where as if it runs out of credits it will. I would have rather the droid do both but it's a big improvement that they just do creds. I lost a set of harvesters because I coldn't find the time to log on and go to each one and put creds in. The ability for a droid to do it would have saved me what i estimate to be 100,000 credits or so, i make my own harvesters so it's hard to put a value on them. If you can only put the maint droids back with only having the ability to pay maint then please do so. They provide me the ability to save my harvesters with only 5 mins on log time. I would like them to do the power and resource widthdraw as well but thoes are secondary on my list. If i did have a droid retrieve resources i expect a chance for it to be attacked. For this reason I chose a dz70 droid,and latter killed it when i doscovered the maind function didn't work, and loaded it up with combat modules as well. I think the hovering droids move faster than the land based ones as the hovering ones can keep up with my swoop with the shift key held down.

So can we have an estimate when the maint droid module will be working again,th?

Dout a dev will reply m8, they havent since i played yhe game apart form one rely in the system crash thread after update.

The colour does indeed reset still when you store it - For droids that have not had custimisation added, but as soon as this goes the colour is random.
I find this really odd as devs say they fixed it, but havent, then its not fixed, and you havent either tested the code fix you added or not actually done it.
Being a programmer i do know the odd coder in a large company says, "yes boss done that" so the boss tells peoples its fixed, but it aint.

Barker droids need to be ignorable! There's already too much spam in Coronet, but fortunately players can be ignored. Droids can't. We need an option to ignore these friggin' spam droids!

I'm loving it so far. I haven't personally came across any bugs, although guildmates have reported problems with building maintenance modules.

Watching those dancing jawa lightshows in Coronet really transforms the place.

Well my opinion of Publish 8 is this.

  • Once again the BE proffession has been screwed over by the Dev's. Animals now DB a whole lot more, BE's are no exception. So in a proffession that heavily involves being at close intervals to mutant rancors and such this is a problem. One would think that BE's might be given an exception, but the Dev's seem to believe different.

  • Fixed the bug where vehicles/pets auto-healed when catching the shuttle. I do agree this was an exploit that could stand fixing. But thanx guys, it is now more expensive to own a land speeder than it is a house. The decay rate is rediculous. And where does the money go? Nowhere. Bottom line, the decay rate on vehicles need to be changed.

  • Startport time. Woooohoooo. I love sitting around twiddling my thumbs listening to spammers spam. Loads of people have complained about this and I suppose we are speaking on deaf ears.

  • Autostore is back for an encore performance. I love running out to a mission and my pet or my speeder disappear. It's an awesome feature.

When the published was announced, I felt very glad of all the new features which will be add. And especially the survey droid... I'm a master architect and thus, I need a lot of resources (quantities and types). So, wait for the publish to go live.... server down for half a day... When it goes up, I launched my swg with only one goal, immediatly buy a survey droid! Fine, i wander a lot around planets to find a DE that has crafted it and have some in stock. I managed to find one... First suprise... The droid is different from other and actually has charges... The ones available in the vendor where 10 charges and give their results in 33mn... Ok, 33mn to get waypoint of the best concentration of a given resource in a planet seems fine to me... Indeed, in would take me a lot more than 33mn so survey the whole planet... So I bought 10 droids at 7k each... I went out of the shop and launched the droid... I was excited... I can use it to detect all type of mineral or all type of flora and so on... So great! 33mn to have the waypoints of the best concentration of each minerals on a given planet is so great and makes the job of architect a lot more pleasant...

33mn later... You have new mail! Great !! my droids finished his work... i check the mail and... ALL I CAN GET IS THE TYPE OF AVAILABLE RESOURCES ON THE PLANET ! Morever, my survey tool disappeared ! So what is the use of a droid that takes 30mn to give me a data which i can have in at most 10mn by going myself on the planet and activate my survey tool !!!!! No sample, no waypoints... USELESS !!! So I spent 70k for crappy droids, that can't even be used as a pet :/ Thx SOE...

buying just one and see how it works would have been a smart move though

browse through the pages of this thread and you'll get a hint or two on the use of the survey droid.

I totally agree on the fact that I should not have bought so much in one shot By the way, this is not the point of my post even if I was a bit angry when I wrote it =) The fact is that I don't know what is the use for a survey droid with the given functionalities since sites like swgcraft gives even more interesting data on stats for example.

Definately the harvesting droids have some serious convinience issues. I love the idea, but they don't really offer much help. Five major problems with them...

* They don't give any harvesting bonus' - I've tested it with identical mobs and the droid harvests about 5% less than I can. I would suggest either increasing it's harvesting level or have it havest as another source (both player and droid can harvest from the same corpse) give it like 50% of what the master can harvest so it's not too over the top.

Just want to give you a hint; this point is only correct if your inherent harvest number is higher than that of the droid. You must have a droid with a higher harv number than you already possess to have it give you a bonus.

As for dealing with harving nasties with AOE attacks, i always have the following as my macro:

/loot;

/tellpet skinnit;

Where 'skinnit' is the programmed harvest command..

After I see the droid harv message as I'm fighting, I hit my OBEYME macro:

/tellpet follow;

/tellpet column formation;

This gets the droid tucked in next to me. I hit this from time to time as I fight, so that he doesn't get far if he runs.

It doesn't affect my combat queue, and I've been really successful with it.

Yeah, thanks. I have actually found a decent harvesting droid now with a 105 bonus, and I've kind of worked out a set of methods to make the droid do his job. Just thought tho, if what you say is true... does that mean a novice scout with my droid could use it to harvest just as much as me? (I have Ranger tracking 1-4) cos if so then what's the point in having master scout and those 4 skills taking up a gazillion skill points?

...or am I wrong, if so please correct me before I go spouting off like an idiot.

Hey guys thanks for the good work, though more droids would be nice. I dont know the name of the driod in episode 1, but the little guys following you around saying "Roger Roger" everytime you tell it to kill something just does something for me.

I'm so glad that I dropped DE when I used my first holocron. This profession actually drew me to SWG, that and the promise of flying a space ship from planet to planet. Boy was I LIED TO!
