Thread: Phase 2...

can someone please post what bug happens when doing Whips quest, i didnt see it in here.
there's several versions:
1. (i got this one) you go to the waypoint on Endor Whip sends you to. There should be a downed spaceship within 500m radius. Driving around you never see it, but you get the message that you completed it. Return to Whip. First of all, you don't complete unless you pickup a container. In this case, the container is nowhere to be found. In some cases the ship is there, but I think this is more likely to have been someone else's ship. But regardless, it breaks the game, you cannot go any further. Whip will tell you to go back and get the container. Even if you waypoint where the ship should have been, it will not help. Server reboot does nothing either.
2. Containers spawn in the middle of a tree. This isnt that bad, if you build a campsite next to the container, then the tree goes away and you can pick it up. Some players have done /target crate and then /pickup and it worked also.
3. Supposedly this bug is squashed, but you return to Whip with the container and he tells you that you have not completed the mission, go back and get the container. Dragging the container over Whip does not help.
Right now, almost all players that are complaining about Whip's quest are speaking in regards to #1 above. All that needs to be done to make just about all of us happy is a way to talk to Whip so that he can give us a new waypoint. I don't think the dev team needs to go into the code to figure out what is causing the problem. I think the problem is simple, the downed space ship despawns too quickly. Unless you hit the shuttles just right and don't get sidetracked, it takes at least 10 minutes to get to the waypoint on Endor from the Village. If you don't hit the shuttles right, or you crash to desktop as I did, then it can take you 20 minutes or more.
You cannot take the crate from someone else's wreck, so anyone posting that the crate won't let them pick it up, they are trying to take someone else's crate. But this leads back to the mission despawn timer being too short, if you waste a lot of time killing other people's sith and trying to get their crate, your ship could despawn and then you will be in the same position as those of us gated by this bug.
I'm not one to complain and to be honest, I don't care that this could be my last column to unlock, I just really wanted the crystal reward since the last column I plan to train is in phase 3 anyway. I just think more and more members of the community are growing tired of the lack of communication. The bug on this particular quest should have been announced or at least acknowledged on these boards. Instead many of us have submitted CSR tickets that get returned with the "Sorry, but we can't help you" message. I appreciate that message and that the Dev team knows about it.
But we need an official ETA or at least a message from someone that says "Ok, we know about this problem. Bear with us, we will either fix it by next tuesday or put in a work around so you can bypass the problem."
I don't think it would be too much for them to do. Even if the ETA is a guess, we need something. I know its in the knowledge base in the in game holocron, but even that is not enough. This is a game breaking bug for many players who will complete their 6 columns by completing this quest.

Well I had no trouble doing Phase 2 on vehicular control. The quest was easy just time consuming. The thing that concerns me is that I now have ground out ranged weapon accurcacy and I have 2 boxes of vehicular control done and I dont see any benefit from either tree. My accuracy with my rifle seems the same and I raced my bro with the same vehicle and lesser ones and it seems no difference. Maybe the boxes 3 and 4 will be different but I was hoping to see a noticable improvement in vehicle control. Does anyone know if this is broke?
I saw a post on VC some say it doesnt really help at all.
well I filled the melee speed boxes and didn't notice any difference at all. Then I was fighting Sith and got about 8-11 swings in a row. It happened maybe once per sith. And it was wierd too, I don't think I got 11 fast swings, I think rather the Sith stopped attacking for 11 swings.
So did they raise the bridge or lower the water when it comes to melee speed? And why do I only notice it on Sith and not other creatures or NPC's? Maybe the change is so small that it can't be noticed. Maybe the FS skills are simply placebos. Things are pointing that way.
