Nope. It really was wishful thinking...
They removed the need to insure after each death. The 1% decay is tougher to do technically, though I wont give up.
The biggest obstacle to that is if nothing decays then Tailors and Weaponsmiths don't get repeat business...and we need to love them too.
I certainly hope he's in someone's office right now raising holy hell about this like we are here.

Its a start...But like you said we should not have 1% decay at all if insured.
AGREE.
What the HELL, TH? Didn't you and all the devshear the cries of joy after the announcement that the 1% decaywas going to be removed? Do you think it's really that game-unbalancing to just include thatin PvE as well? I was looking forward to being able to go and do some faction missions without being paralyzed with fear about those one-shot stormtrooper kills!
Doesn't armor already decay with normal usage (every time it absorbs damage)? And don't you think there are people out there who won't bother to pay insurance? Why the INSISTENCE on shafting the people who have already paid their money sink?
Just when I thought we were getting better at this "communication" thing...
ok ive been rooting for you guys for a whil enow stoked about this patch and the breath it would put back into PvP.
But now after seeign this im just miffed.
Can you developers at SOE do anything right or are you going to jack this game until judgement day with dumb decisions and failed promises.
This was the BEST FIX PROMISED in a patch since, well a long while back, and now you guys fold on it. BS i say.
Apology not accepted.
how hard is it to fricken tell a PVP death from a PVE death???? not hard says me. upon DB your death gets tagged with who struck it. a player or an NPC.
DUH! come on how hard is that?

Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part, but I made a mistake in the last paragraph of the Friday Feature.
It currently reads:
The Little Things: The little things matter as much as the big things. There were many sound upgrades, improvements to the graphic user-interface and even a few minor activities for players to find. Many POI's and places where NPC's interact with each other (or NPC theaters). One of the "biggest little" things with this publish will be the removal of "insured decay" from the death penalty. Instead of having a 1% decay for items, players will have no decay as long as they have insurance.
It is being changed to:
The Little Things: The little things matter as much as the big things. There were many sound upgrades, improvements to the graphic user-interface and even a few minor activities for players to find. Many POI's and places where NPC's interact with each other (or NPC theaters). One of the "biggest little" things with this publish will be the removal of "insurance" from the death penalty in Player versus Player combat.Players will no longer have to insure their items after each death in PVP.
The reason is because there is no way to tell the difference between a "PvP Death" and a "PvE Death".I will continue to try and get the development team to remove the 1% decay with insurance. (Any good ideas from you folks for an alternative might help).
I sincerely apologize.
Garva is always looking out for you guys and mentioned that it was still a little confusing.
He rephrased it and it sounds better like this...
Ok so this is what you mean...
There will still be a 1% decay penalty in pvp death but you will not have to re-insure after that death.
This is correct and clearer I hope.

nothing nice to say....BUT THIS IS MESSED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think TH needs to go back to the people who code the game and get it clarified.
Oh and on a side note from your previous comment TH - I'm a Master Tailor and I hate Decay.
