ahhhhh no fair...these jedi videos make me feel hopeless......I wanna be a jedi *wannnnnwannnnnn**
![]()
It went on for a few minutes and the motion and sound were amazing. It ended in one of the jedi knocked down and there was a flurry of cheers and shouts. Then someone accidently delivered a deathblow to the downed jedi in an attempt to start a a duel with another character in the crowd.
Of course, it had to be MY friend trying to duel ME and he ended up killing a jedi. that was darn funny. i didnt realize exactly what happened because all of the sudden everyone started to become very angry at him. then a little later he sent me a tell telling me what exactly happened. again, darn funny.
so after about 30 minutes of apologizing (thankfully the jedi got a rez from a doc in the crowd) he made some sorta peace with the parties involved and the crowd.
now he can brag he killed a jedi before making novice TK. once more, darn funny.

Good morning,
I would like to address a few issues about the 'Jedi'. This appears to be the only place I MIGHT get a chance at a Devv or SOE staff seeing the comments.
You asked in your post whether anyone has any interaction with Jedi.
At present I feel that the entire Jedi system conflicts with ANY involvement with other players. Jedi are always under the fear that they will be attacked by anyone. And proven since the first live Jedi, that story elements will NOT control the player base. A Jedi serving the Rebellion will still be attacked and killed by Rebels, Nuetral, and of course Imperials regardless of Roleplay conviction, just because they can. It is FUN for the players to just open up on a Jedi player that is TEF'd regardless of any story elements.
As it stands now, the Jedi serve no purpose in the game for a true storyline. They are hunted by everyone, can be killed by everyone unless they are just travelling incongito. This may be a great tool for controlling the advancement of a Jedi but its a terrible tool for everything else. Jedi do not interact much with people they can't trust. Sure they might have a PA surrounding them and they may hunt with one another but on the whole they are reclusive, afraid to become known and hunted. That 'sounds' wonderful for the storyline but in all other respects the storyline is ignored. They gain the penalties and no advantages.
The other side to this is that Jedi serve NO purpose whatsoever except to be PVP content. They cannot roleplay anything, they serve no support role and very few if any actually serve a PVP side. With 3 deaths and your done, the only time a Jedi player will engage in PVP intentionally is when they have already lost a life here and there and are resigned to starting all over. Most Jedi players will laugh at you and not involve themselves in the GCW because they don't want to lose all of their hard work on their character.
Jedi are not invincible and easily destroyed when confronted by 10 to 15 players buffed and ready for GCW. As it stands now the Jedi life is this...
Open your FSCS slot.
Hide and level...forever, until you die.
Do not participate voluntarily in any GCW because you will eventually die and lose all of your hard work.
Do not interact with other players outside of a small group (PA) and only when isolated in far away places because even those who should be on your side and glad to have you supporting their faction for the GCW will and do shoot to kill.
The 'Jedi' system I think needs a serious reworking. At present I see it as the uber PVP class that cannot PVP. That really doesn't make sense to me.
Ideas to fix?
Don't critize without suggesting a solution.
First of all, since players have proven for years that they could give a rats arse about the Story and Roleplay content, the devvs cannot entrust to the playerbase to act accordingly. Some safeguards need to be in place. Jedi do not deserve to be griefed anymore then any other player. Aligned Jedi should not be able to be attacked by people of their own alignment outside of Dueling. To make them open to attack by rebels (if the Jedi is rebel) is just a grief control tactic that makes no sense to any story line. If someone is actually rping an angry issue with a jedi (Yeah right) then duel will serve the purpose to allow them to settle matters.
If you want Jedi to particpate in the GCW, to be more interactive with players then they need to feel that the risk for doing so is worth it. As it stands Jedi do not assist the GCW, and nor will they ever with the present punishing system in place. I understand that you do not want to have the game flooded with Jedi as they would be terrible as well, but a balance needs to be found so that Jedi can have a rewarding game experience rather then entirely punitive. For the most part you do not have that in place now.
This I think deserves some careful scrutiny. Jedi should not be reserved just for people who want to PVP, nor should a player who has worked long and hard to achieve that position be forced to constantly PVP. That is completely against the grain of the Jedi story elements anyway. Jedi should be allowed to participate more in the overall game content in a fashion that all players can enjoy that participation whether a jedi or not.
Otherwise what is their purpose? A forced PVP profession that refuses to PVP because of the millions of xp on the line for a situation that eventually the Jedi will lose? I just don't see the logic. It seems to me that the system is accepted as is because of the player desparation to just get that lightsaber, and to just get it into the game.
After a while, after the initial ooooo and ahhhh of the lightsaber we've seen numerous questions, "What the heck am I a Jedi for again? PVP? Yeah right, are you nutts?"
Thanks for your time reviewing this.
