Here is your answer...

If you were glowy when you logged on Yesterday, you automatically qualify, OR, if you have unlocked or completed 7 of your 8 required professions you automatically qualify.

I don't know what the timetables are for the groups to follow the automatic group, but I am guessing it won't be long, as the bulk of the first groups will be in and out pretty quickly.

The old man is visiting glowy people who have only mastered 4 or so professions, so that is confirmed. The old man has also visited some Pub 9 to 10 unlockers too, so that is confirmed.

Hang on to your shorts guys and gals.

I am in the automatic group, so I can be happy about that. I am going to send out a big NICE request to the other Automatic folks that we bust our humps to get through the village as rapidly aspossible so we can get out and get the other groups in and rolling. Everyone is excited and ready to go, so let's get the first couple of groups who are already a bit advanced in the quest progression through rapidly. (Of course this is after you have actually gotten into the village. I know many have not been attacked by the sith shadow's yet).

"Which did you like better? 'Jedi' or "The Empire Strikes Back?"
"Jedi"
"Blasphemy!"
"'Empire' had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, find out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All 'Jedi' had was a bunch of Muppets."

Not true, I am glowing and I unlocked, and day 2 no old man yet. I petitioned but they said just keep playing like normaly. Well, normally I would be grinding holo but really no point in that. Game is really boring after you unlock, have just about every badge and you are waiting, and paying to wait for an old man so you can start a quest that gives you Jedi, though they said when you start on pub 10 you start at padawan level. Even says so in archieves. It wouldn't be so bad if you knew that it was coming, but no old man, and no one seems to have a clue whats going on.

I am sorry people who didn't unlock have to wait forever to get into village. I unlocked, and I too have to wait forever.

Thanks for this, but regretfully, it still doesn't answer the biggest burning question in my mind. My main character has 76 badges (which includes all the POI's, 5 professions, Theme parks (2 Warren, 1 Rebel, 1 Nym and 1 Jabba), librarian, COA1-3 badges, some race tracks and the various "you got badge" badges. I never shook a holo, so I have no idea what, if any, "holo professions" I mastered (not to mention having been in-game for at least a year now). When I logged in on Tuesday, he was "glowy."

Does that constitute completing under the new system (I'm due for a visit) or the old system (I'm gated based on an unknown number of key professions mastered)?

My Alt (less than 6 months old)is a few Theme Parks shy of going "glowy." If that character now finishes a theme park, and goes "glowy" does that mean this one completed under the "new" system and will be visited immediately (and is not gated)?

If a noob joins the game post P10 publish, and (given a quick influx of cash) masters one profession, nails all the POIs, and gets a hand up doing, say, Nym, Jabba, and 3 corvette missions, he gets an immediate pass into the village?

Am I the only one that thinks there is something wrong with this picture?

I don't really care WHEN the old man visits me, to be honest, but just that he will at some point. And, I think people who participated in the game (as opposed to mindless grinding and not contributing to the "student body", but there is no way to differentiate these two groups, so they get lumped into "participated") should get their collective virtual butts a free pass now, and make the others wait.

As with anything SOE has done, there are inequities, and I'm just trying to get my hands around what this group of inequities is so I can move on with some level of understanding.

P.S. Color me "chapped" that the hero quest doesn't apparently count, and that is content if anything is.

OK, I have a grand question. I transfered my character from Kettemoor to Radiant. I was on my 4th Holocron was SILENT. I have mastered 30 Professions, 13 of these were done pre-badge patch. My /check message is "You feel a faint sense in the force" **edit** !!!!!. My character has been around since the first week of play. I think I have waited long enough to become JEDI !!! Don't you ? How about just making me Jedi Knight. Here is the script you should use this to pass on to the developers.

INSERT INTO jedi_knights (pk_knightID, player_name, player_Sever, player_rank, player_DamageOutPut) values (0001,'NEGAAFIR', 'RADIANT', '5',1000)

THIS WILL MAKE ME HAPPY !!! ;-)

I'm also in the automatic group, by virtue of 'the glow'. I'll support every effort on Corbantis to get everyone IN and OUT of the Village as fast as possible as well. I've not yet been visitted by the old fella, so I've not been to the village to determine how much holo-credit I receive. I doubt it will be more than 2 trees, but we'll see. Again, once you DO get to the village, make every effort to finish your quest for Phase 1 and move out, freeing space for others.

Why is it we have different threads if all of them are going to be filled with people complaining about being "glowy" and not a jedi yet? Isn't this forum to discuss the actual trials of the actual jedi? I just had the "glowy" conversation, and I am sure some of them are still going on and on about "when is it gonna be my turn!!??!" if you are interested in checking it out. You do not find the Force, the force finds you.

ATTENTION: Sony will now be changing the name of this game from Star Wars to Jedi Wars if all you flamers get your way.....if you don't like it quit, if you think because you have had countless hours of nothing but grinding and think you should have an advantage, perhaps, but just think Jedi are going to be a dime a dozen and how exactly does that fit into the time frame of this game vs the movies? It doesn't...all those jedi running around, Think I'll become a BH and make sure all that lovely exp is down the drain

ok, for those of you who just can't understand that 1-3 days might just mean you hae to wait 3 days, there are some options for you, you could count to 259,000 which is roughly the number of seconds in 3 days, or you can geta fishing pole, head out to some lake in the middle of nowhere and try and catch yourself some dinner. This conversation about "im glowy, but it didn't hapen yet <stomp/pout>" is so tired, move on.

Well I have had enough. Since the day I started this game, my goal has been to unlock my jedi slot. On top of various other endeavors and adventures including the GCW and various dungeons that dont have badges, I ground out 4 holos and as many profs as I could before they shut down the prof grind, have seen every POI, the Library badge, Imp Theme Park, both Warren badges, 15 profs and attempted the Corvette honestly on my own or with others multiple times and all i am is "strong". Now I come to find out that many people that only did 2 theme parks, three POI's out of the dozens and dozens, the Warren and then got someone to run the vette while they sat in the spawn point for them are now "glowing" and more eligeble than I am to get a visit from the old man. Where is the fairness in that? These people do not deserve to crack their jedi slot more than me, and I do not deserve the burning brown eye I have recieved as resulted from this system "upgrade". BAHH HUMBUG!
