Interesting Thread.
Although the new devs comments arent detailed looks like enjoys sticking with the Thread.
One thing I have wonderd about is the long term plan for SWG.
I think its safe to talk about EQ2 since its being offered by the same parent company and your working on an unnamed project.
I recently went to the movies and they had about a 3 minute preview of the features of EQ2.
The game graphics, in game features including voice interface for quests verus text looks amazing.
So in a broader sense I would love to know how SOE views having two MMMOG live at the same time.
After revamping Jedi, Launching JTL and fixing the 32 professions is done is there a plan in place to make SWG viable for the next 24 months?
Or is this considered more of a "niche" game catering to die-hard Star Wars fans while EQ2 will remain the bread and butter for the mainstream players.

You can't have enough QA in our business IMO. And we don't have any Indian QA, but I'd take it if offered since it could only help us improve our quality.
Who needs India. Hire more from America if you need more. I happen to know of some out-of-work ex-Microsoft QA contractors who would kill for a job, especially in gaming.
I know it wouldn't require a move to Austin or Bay Area, because ifIndia can do it remotely, then certainly we can from here in Seattle.
Seriously, who better to test the game than someone who's played it 10-20 hours a day for the last ~400 days.

Don't you mean soon to have 4 MMOGs live at the same time? Everquest, SWG, Planetside & and soon to be released Everquest2. Currently their bread and butter is EQ. But you have to realize that each game has it's own team and works like a seperate company with it's own budget.
Point taken.
I realize to a degree the teams and projects budgetsare separated from one another.
But for example take Raph Kostner. (sp.)
In the earlier stages of this game he was in control and and active on the community forums.
Now, I believe he is the head of the online gaming division which would include the games you mentioned.
What I would find interesting to know is how is the pie divided?
If say 20 million dollars, just throwing a number out here, is provided to the online gaming division for a set time what is the priority going ahead in the future.
Does the long term plan include SWG in some version 2-4 years out?
I wouldnt think Planetside, EQ, SWG and EQ2 would get equal funding......

Dear Gordon Walton,
If you want to, as you say in your own words, "give you the premier online entertainment experience", here is a suggestion.
FIX THE BROKEN **edit** FIRST!
That will probably go a long way toward giving us the premier online entertainment experience.
Sincerely,
A pissed off customer,

Why dont you go get a Degree in Information system design and fix it. Otherwise stop playing the game like many others are instead of yelling in a message board. Use a "logical" approach and hit cancel. Recently, I canceled my accounts. Due to less time spent in the game I became interested again, thus reactivating. I can play again and have a little fun and I think its worth the $12.95.
Yea some stuff is "broken" but we need to be a little more proffesional with the way we think, talk, or write.

Actually, my degree(s) are in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science. The thing is, I don't pay to fix the game, I pay it to play it.
Want to know why I am pissed? I started my other account at launch. The devs knew stuff was broken from Beta (they were told and they said they were going to fix it). The Combat Balance was suppose to be in the coding stages, so I got this account in Feb to prepare for it. Guess what? They **edit**ing lied to us, the game is still **edit**ing broken, and I can't get a refund for believing them.
My other account retired. It was a year long subscription, as is this one. Foolishly, I believed the Devs, and paid for a year. That pisses me off, yeah my first MMORPG and first SOE game, I guess I deserve it.
As for logic, if it played any part of the dev cycle, they would've FIXED THE BROKEN **edit** FIRST.

Then maybe you should have a talk with your boys in the Dev department about Smugglers. We've been an incomplete profession since beta, and tossed in at the last minute before release without any real improvements since.
