IF SOMEONE DID A HOLO, MEANING THEY DID A PROFESSION THEY WOULDN'T NORMALLY HAVE DONE, BUT DID BECAUSE THE GAME SPECIFIED IT, THEY SHOULD GET CREDIT.
HOLO SHOULD =SOME CREDIT. REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY.
This whole thing is a slap in the face to everyone who isn't a grinding machine. To anyone who didn't just play the game. To anyone who may have only done a holo or two.
First the combat balance gets delayed, and now this.

So If I got to silent on my holocron I should be in group one? But no old man yet...
And Thunderheart you need to work on your posts, your supposed to be informative and not confuse the hell out of the playerbase. Please edit your post or make a reply to peoples confusion

First, let me say, I know there are many burning questions in the community and Im feverishly working on them all. My absence was due to a long campingweekend. We got rained out so bad it was like camping in a Dantooine downpour and I caught a nasty chest cold. The summit followed up and now Im catching up. Expect information to cover the credit issue, publish feedback threads then a holobits about the summit and then Im heading back into my hut to polish up the Combat Balance docs. For those who were eager to see those as a Friday Feature, they probably will be, but we made some changes based on board feedback and had to delay the post a bit...

There isn't a hard and fast rule, but there is a solid correlation based on how many professions you completed. For instance, if you finished 31 professions, there is a extremely strong likelihood you'll get 5 branches unlocked. If you finished 29 or 30 professions, you most likely will get 4 branches and so on. Beyond that there is no hard and fast way to tell. Though like I said, there is almost a direct correlation between how many total professions (32)were completed and how many holo-professions were completed.

Both actually. The rate at which it will occur will be based on the final numbers of how many people muscled their way through professions from Publish 9 to Publish 10. We'll be monitoring it on a daily basis - - the reason being we want to make sure that everyone has a good time and isn't overcrowded. Once we get through this big slug of people, the natural pace of village access wont need this type of virtual valve.

I call Shenanigans... or at least Gobbledygook. What does this *mean*?
I've only mastered like 13 professions, but I mastered 3 holo professsions before I got a "silent" holo. Does this mean that I am "one profession away", which means I get 5 branches, and an automatic visit from the Old Man? Or, since it looks like you raised the number of "hidden" professions to 8 toward the end, am I 3, 2, or 1 profession short?
And how long are you going to make Groups 1-4 wait? It might just make more sense to pick up the badges first and go the "New" route.
BTW... Attica! Attica!
EDIT: BTW, I posted before I saw TH's second post. What he says above sounds worse than I could have imagined.

When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group. Groups 1 – 4 will qualify for a visit when the village traffic has died down. Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.Always.
First of all, it seems very unfair for two reasons :
- the groups who are automatically qualified are the groups that will end really quickly the quests, in only one village phase ... the other groups need at least 2 phases... Therefore the other groups have two handicaps - first they must wait for the old man to come even though they are "glowy" then they must wait also for the phases to change...
- moreover, people who are not yet glowy but had perhaps only 2 remaining profession will be able to enter the village at the same time of people who are already glowy ... that's not fair !!
Thus, this system is really not clear at all and must be clarified if it is maintained (which case I do not want)
- How can we know in which group we are ?
- Does the player who have mastered all their holocrons are in the group 1 ?
- When will the player who have not holo-grinded but are glowy be able to enter the village ?
this announce is by far the worst I've heard since day one of the game ... It leads only to frustration ... I was really happy to be able to do some more content, some new quests ... Only to see that some people can access these new quests and some other don't, only by the hands of devs manually picking who who have rights to access this new content ...
I will just remember everyone here that each player paid the same amount of money for playing this game ... and If I understand that some content are accessible only by players who have attain some level, I do not understand that content is not accessible only for a "lag" or technical reason ...

I unlocked in February, when I logged in this morning, both my Jedi and my main are only barely sensing the force. Not exactly what I expected. I had to go to work, so I didn't have time to make a trip to the village.

Grin, I 100% agree...back when we did holocrons, it was a total of 5 professions. I spent over a month grinding the 3 holocron professions. ...NOT TO MENTION THE 100's OF HOURS SEARCHING FOR THOSE HOLOCRONS ON DANTOOINE!!!!!!!!! I WANT MY FRIGGIN' CREDIT, OR BOTH MY ACCOUNTS ARE CANCELLED!!!!

promised myself i wouldnt flame this, but hell with that, i have 102 badges of the 114 possible, i unlocked under the old rules, glowing with the inner glow, and have been on 3 hours and too everyplanet , this is total BS, there is no more RPG when u get to my level, i have RPG'd myself out.. for me and many others jedi is the final level.. and now we are waiting even more, looks like another week at least until they can figure it out cause they are horrible at emergency fixes, this is 6 patchs now that warping speeders was supposedly fixed, WRONG!!!! .... they shouldnt have even screwed with merchant in the same patch if they would have just focused on jedi like they should have we wouldnt have been stalled a week already

Hey, I got an idea. Why don't TH just wave his hands and make you all Jedi Knights with no waiting? Buncha fuggin whiners. Bad enough you helped screw the game over by powergaming a stupid decision on the part of the Devs. Then you whined and bitched and moaned until your rewards were increased. And now youdemand instant gratification on top of that.
GO AHEAD AND QUIT YOU WHINERS--THEN THE REST OF US CAN PLAY THE GAME THE RIGHT WAY WITHOUT 500 JEDI UNDERFOOT.
