Hey, Tiggs. Welcome to the wolf pack. From the sound of it, though, you seem as if you're not one to lag behind the herd and get culled, so more power to you.

Aside from sincere congratulations and a warm welcome, let me take a moment to ask you to reassure the active Roleplaying and "casual gamer" population in SWG that your own self-professed love for PvP and powergaming won't mean that our concerns will get short shrift. I'm all for having specific playstyles represented, but there are a lot of intelligent, mature posters on these boards that don't share your personal playstyle and are concerned about the direction of the game. We'd love to know that we have an open ear on your end.

Regardless, I hope that people here treat you well. Reading some of the stuff that goes on here, maybe that's too much to ask... but I hope for it all the same. hehehe

I agree Diorchas, I would like to see the RP community get some love as well. There is much potential in this game to roleplay and I would love to see the Dev's help it along some.

Oh and a 5 stars to you, I rarely star anyone as it is a pain in the butt to have to scroll back down to where i was reading at, but i felt you deserved it for bringing up the RP angle.

Thanks for the kind words, Garett. I'm not implying that Tiggs WILL ignore our concerns, I just want to open a dialogue with her so that we can get to the point where each side understands the other. What's important is for her to know that there is potential for a lot of intelligent and constructive feedback from roleplayers and casual gamers if she welcomes it.

Tiggs, if you're reading this then I hope you understand that most roleplayers are not antagonistic to PvP at all. We're just frustrated with some aspects of this game and would really appreciate meaningful dialogue.

An open dialogue about RP would be great. And I agree many RP'ers also enjoy PVP. After all how satisfying is it to roleplay an imperial officer or rebel soldier with out actually oppressing or freeing the galaxy (who is doing the oppressing and freeing is greatly open to interpretation by each side) I think if many RP'ers had their concerns answered you would see an increase in the amount of PVP'ers in the game as well. At least that is my half a cent.

I agree, Garett. My goal coming into this game was to roleplay a Jedi and a Rebel Pilot. I assumed both of those would entail PvP. Even being a "hardcore" roleplayer, that didn't bother me at all. In fact, I was really looking forward to it. Everyone (even the Devs) agree that the GCW needs work... that's not news. But something I don't see a lot of is honest, respectful, constructive discussion between PvPers and Roleplayers. This strikes me as really disappointing, since roleplayers can add a great deal to immersion and continuity WITHIN the GCW.

I suppose that's why I bothered posting here in the first place, aside from welcoming Tiggs. I want to make sure that this game moves forward without forgetting the people who do the most to foster a more immersive community. We have a lot to offer and all too often it seems like the game is morphing further and further into one that excludes us, whether by design or neglect.

Hmm...I think I remember you from the UO days...I use to be a Newbie Helper type on Napa. Gahh..cant even remember what they were called..when we would teleport to the new players and help them out..

BAH, well, anyway, welcome aboard...as you can tell, I dont post much. Im usually not in the mood for a firefight, so not much point reading or posting. But it looks like there is a new sheriff in town, so maybe ill poke my head around a bit more...

Hey will you guys ##censored## about smugglers.

Just in case you didn't know it. Smuggler is FOTM for fs craft grinding.

(Not that any smuggler in their right mind would take fs crafting skills, when they can take persuassion (how does that affect buying faction?), or actually get some mods which they can use in combat...)

If you doubt it read this --

And at least low blow works! Try being a carbineer - they get no wookiee dev love. And that's a elite combat class (LOL - JUST KIDDING!! You hybrid elite combat dudes. I want a 35% damage slice on my krayt scatter pistol. No I only have one, what do you mean a speed slice??)

ummm...and that relates to our gimped profession how? Look, that has to do with people wanting to be jedi and trying to get there faster, it isnt actually relevant to the smuggler class itself. All smugglers want is for their skill points to mean something, and right now they really dont. Slicing is a pain in the butt and very frustrating, dirty fighting is a shell of its former self, spices are utterly worthless and do no sell anymore, underworld continues to do nothing meaningful, and above all else, one of the most iconic professions in Star Wars continues to not do what its namesake suggests...smuggle. If you can take an honest look at this class and tell me smugglers dont have a right to be upset or concerned, then could you at least provide legitmate arguments proving your point and not bring up this jedi garbage which really has nothing to do with the smugglers sharing their concerns in this and other threads.

p.s. Sorry for getting off-topic here, but the big bold print here got me a tad irrate.

Yay! I used to play TSO (was Fuschia there as well)and was an active forum poster there as well. I remember very well the conversations we would have about Girl Scout cookies on the boards! Welcome to the community, I'm really looking forward to sharing yet another game with you and watching you *pounce*!

Welcome aboard Tiggs, hopefully now that TH has some help communication will increase as it has been alittle lacking lately.

Hopefully you will follow in TH's footsteps and start quoting the people/posts you are answering so those of us who don't read every post out of 20+ pages have an idea of what you are talking about.

Seriously Tiggs, the information we are striving for is not a rewrite of "Hints to using the forum search" or "spam guidelines". I hope you don't BS us like the rest of the troop that have been in/slightly above your position.

I hope you are here to help "US"(AKAJohnny/Sally Consumer)and are not here to continue the shadow workof the "machine" (AKA Sony Double Talk Department) {ie... "We never said combat balance or revamp or whatever it is that makes us look like we promised anything.... I mean smugglers are a great profession that has been completed since release" CHECK OUT SMUGGLER History }

I wish you the best but warn you against BSing this crowd, we have had enough snowball work to build a city of snowpeople (try that on for P.C.)!

BTW, slap Blackman when you see him for those of us who still think the pompous monkey needs to learn customer respect.
