Mandolin: It's just a shame that one server at least could not have been reserved for those of us that think that the great creations of George Lucas's imagination deserve a little more respect than SOE and many SWG players want to give it.

-----------------------------

This would've been a great idea, except that we would still have the childish folks popping in and out. Sounds like an official role-player server.

At any rate, I hate to see someone like you cancel their account. It just means I have that less of a chance of running into someone who plays the way I do. You had to know this was coming when they state in the naming policy they will not allow certain names, yet you see Greeeedo, Dashhh Rendar and xDark_Sithx, on every server. I've come to accept a certain amount of obsurdity. The only thing that has upset me (at this point) about the town New New York, for instance, is that the mayor was not clever enough to name it Newer York.

It will take a lot more than this to make me cancel my account. Then again, I said that with EverQuest. Of course, it took a year and two months before I finally gave up on EQ.

However, it is my most sincere hope (as far as this game is invovled) that the Devs have a plan of some sort I am not aware of to solve the above mentioned problems.

Oh, and in case you were truly wondering. Most players are selfish. I don't mean that in a bad way -- as in, I'm not attacking anyone. But it's true. They all want their own city, rather than banding together. I read one post where someone said, "Why would I move to a city where I don't know anyone." 1) That is a good way to meet people. and 2) In real life, you don't run out and start your own town. You move to a pre-existing city where it is mutually beneficial.

I do realize we don't play this game because we want to immitate real life. However it is the underlying realism of games like these that makes us feel comfortable and keeps us playing. It is theunrealistic aspect that keeps it interesting and fun. We require a foundtation in realism in order for the illusion of the fantasy to be maintained.

"The only thing that has upset me (at this point) about the town New New York, for instance, is that the mayor was not clever enough to name it Newer York"

My god. That has to be the worst. When they said that you needed to be over 13 to play this game I automatically assumed that they were talking about age not IQ. There are a lot of these "New..." cities around - New Coventry, New Hamburg, New Delphi etc. Not only do theyshow a trulypitiful lack of imaginationand creativity, they alsodisplay an ignorance of the words that appear inhuge yellow letters at the very start of every SW film - "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..". Great big words and written in good old plainEnglish too. I find it hard to see why so many people get confused into thinking SW is set in this galaxy and in the distantfuture.

Anyway mate, I think you're going to be sorely disappointed if you expect the devs to do anything to address the rampant stupidity evident on all the servers. It's obvious from the tone of their postings that their policy is "give the plebs what they want" as long as they keep paying. And as a Brit, I would warn you not to expectanything but disappointmentfrom anyone who goes by the name of Blair! Fact is that as long as there are more payers clamouring for more cities rather than fewer, they're going to pay heed to those who shout loudest rather than those who quietly turn off.So it's back toNeocron for me, at least until the Dragon Empires beta starts. Best of luck to you and all thegoodplayers out there!

After reading several posts, my opinion is that the cap should remain in full affect. The cap is the only hope of having any wilderness left to enjoy. On many servers the only place that you cannot find player cities are on terrain that is impossible to build upon. I enjoy the player city expansion and feel privilaged that i am one of the last to get one established before my server capped, but now it is time to put a cork in this bottle and call it full. Still the fact remains that there are newer players out there who may have been attracted to the game because of this expansion. I am not oblivious to that fact.

I too am disappointed to see players name they're cities obsurd or simply ignorant names. Perhaps taking the privilage of having a player cityand revoking itfor these players, and these cities destroyed, would free up some roomfor newer, responsible, intelligent players to build they're dreams. That may seem a little harsh, but i think they are impacting the game play experience for everyone with any values, or respect for the hard work and imagination that was poured into this game. Rules, Restrictions, Limits and Laws are good things, but when people are allowed to ignore, abuse, and even change these institutions without repercussions, they become hollow and meaningless threats. The cap has been placed, now stand your ground and defend your decision.

P.S. If these new politicians want a city so bad why dont they campaign and run for office in an existing city. The reason is because these players are simply lazy. Ofcourse it would be easier to just slap a cityhall down 1000 meters from Coronet and watch the people flock in and settle. I am baffled as to why running for mayorial office was even incorperated if there was never going to come a time when doing so was necessary. It is obvious that these complainers are children or indigents who have never had a single struggle to endure in reality. Go play a sim building game if building the city of your dreams is your goal in life, and save everyone here a massive headache.

I have heard that the next big publish, (the chef one). The torture of the naboo city cap is going to finally be lifted, and 50player cities will be allowed. Is this true? And then will the amount of larger cities also be increased, many are stuck at a low level due to the litations that are currently in place. Ihave heardFebuary 13th, but can not verify. Anybody hear anything else on this?

I forgot to add the most important thing in my previous post!

We at least want to be acknowledged on the "Planetary Map"!! So if you can not advance us at this time, then why can you not at least list the other 5, of we player cities, on the map? At least that way our mall and cantina would be visible to travelers that are crossing the "middle of the planet" .... since most of the original 15 cites are located at the outer edges of the planet, and may be looking for a safe haven at the time.

Ok, you have explained "city caps", but I have a little question please!

When you raised the "city cap" to allow 20 player cites, per planet, why were/are only the first 15 player cities able to advance past the "village" status? Why did you not stop it at 15, peroid?

We have worked very hard to get our "city" going, now we are at a standstill because we can not advance any further, right now. Why? Our city hall has been placed, we have a cantina, bank, mission terminals, fountains, street lights, etc etc etc ..... (cute stuff that means nothing!)

Why, since we already have the required "35" citizens to advance to the next step, are we not allowed to go forward? The houses are placed, the city buildings (that we are allowed to have are placed), so what is stopping you from allowing us to proceed farther in advancement? We are not looking for a "Starport", we just want a Cloning Center, and a Medical Center ... for now!

What's the big deal? The people that say "player cities" are taking up "hunting grounds", etc.are full of "crap"! Our houses are well maintained, in an orderly fashion, and not spread out all over the landscape in random spots.

Is this "cap" .... for the remaining 5 player cites going to be lifted, in the near future, or are we just stuck in the mud where we are?

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Our city, Riveredge Lagoon, made it onto the Planetary Map yesterday evening! YAY!!!!

So any of you that play on the Bria Server ..... drop on by and visit! You can reach our city by making yourself a /waypoint 0, 0 (which has become known as the *Warp Hole* - which btw we have named our City Cantina the same name)!

Thank you, DEV's! We really appreciate the advancement!
