HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! There is no collision detection for objects because they are insubstantial as far as the engine is concerned. Fo them to implement that would require major changes to the way the system looks at stuff (it doesn't even pay attenetion to where the geometric faces/edges are). Sorry, I'm anticipating /movefurnitureup and /movefurnituredown, and I'll be happy with that.

This is not true.
All furniture used to have collision detection associated with it.
They took it away because people were exploiting by inviting people into their house, then dropping a crafting station in front of the front door.

Thats just plain mean. Well the DEVs need to give us some C4 to blow up those stations in front of the door. Oh wait that would add way more abuse options. Never mind.

Re: Decay:

I know there's a whole other topic thingy in the In Testing forum, but I wanted to put my 2c here on an idea I had:

Instead of determining decay based on PvP or PvE, why not base it on "time dead". i.e. the longer you lay there dead, the more your items(have) decayed by the time you clone.

1. If you die and are ressed,0% decay.

2. If you die and clone right away,0% decay if insured, usual 5% if not.

3. If you die and wait, the decay flag climbs. You can use the "cold corpse" timer (the one that determines if a doctor can still res you or not). Simply feed the insurance decay off the same timer, and when cloning happens, this timer determines how much decay you suffer.

Assuming the timer is 10mins (what most people seem to believe):

Insured: 0% for first minute, .1% for each minute thereafter, to max of 1%.
NonInsured: 0% for first minute, .5% for each minute thereafter, to max of 5%.

The advantages

1. You already have a timer in place to determine the res-ability of a dead character.
2. The amount of decay stays in-line with that is already in-place. Therefore, less screaming about increased decay.

3. PvPrs generally get ressed by doctors on their team during large raids. This will encourage more people to join larger raids because they can be assured of a decent chance of being ressed. On small gank-fests, most people want to clone and get it over with, so this will encourage them to clone faster.

4. If no doctors are available, those quick-to-clone (and thus re-pay insurance) will be rewarded for making faster use of cloning. Those that wait will suffer the same decay they would right now (and still re-pay insurance). Thus you have yoru $$ sink, still.

5. Giving the players another chance to actively avoid decay will make people very happy. It will give them a degree of control in the game. Thus, less whining over this issue, so we can move onto other more important things.

Any ideas on the AE bugs(Area Effectingbugs)? This was reported in the Pistoleer forums in relation to Fan Shot many months ago (when Fan Shot was made AE). Now it's appearing when any mob does an AE attack, albeit rarely. But, it's a show-stopper when it happens (check out the combat spam in the following screen shots):

http://www.rauha.com/albums/album02/screenShot0212.jpg

http://www.rauha.com/albums/album02/screenShot0214.jpg

Both illustrate the severity and effect of the bug. Apparently, it takes all targets of an AE attack and directs the damage to one of the targets. This is similar if not the same as the corpse AE bug that has also been reported many times.

When will this be addressed? It's obviously "not as intended", so it's a bug. And bugs need fixing.

I think you are giving to much credit to the devs... I doubt they could figure something like that out

1. House item limits - we were told these would be removed once the database was fixed

2. Told publish 6 would focus on the Droid Engineers

3. PvP Death decay removal

The box of this game promised vehicles, mounts, Jedi, and player cities. Funny how NONE of those things were in the actual game back in June when I began playing. I guess I should not be surprised to find the trend continuing...

Being a weaponsmith I want to know when we are going to see a rebalance of weapons. I don't want to make a on of new weapons and then have them be useless due to the rebalance of weapons and new weapons that are suppoosed to be coming out soon. Is there any ETA on this change?

Whatever you do, wookies look dumb enough with clothes on. Come up with some better way to give them protection. Hell make them tougher.. but please no stupid wookie armor. It just isn't right.

What do you mean it's not right? Wookiees can and do wear armor! In fact here's our hero Chewbacca dressed up in some while impersonating a Wookiee bounty hunternamed Snoova in Shaddows of the Empire (you know the book ).

http://www.rebelscum.com/soteKchewbacca.asp

This image obviously shows 2 wookiees Chewbacca & Snoova wearing armor. (obviously chewbacca had to wear this armor to impersonate Snoova).

You can also find Snoova in the collectible card game. And in fact the most amusing thing in the image is not the costume Snoova is wearing, but the armor rating on the card; 4. Yes Snoova has an armor rating of 4 and not 0!

Wookiees are demanding equality anything besides giving our species armor is like putting a bandaid on a wound that requires stiches. Unless the developers intend to re-evaluate our species every time a new loot drop is added then wookiees will be crying out again for help in another month or two.6 months ago Holocron posted "We are going to let the wookiees win".4 months agoThunderheart promised ourvoices would be heard. 2 months agoKStarfire submitted our top5. We have yet to hear an official word on the subject. Do you really want to hear all the wookiees complain in another couple months after new armor loot drops are added and again we are un-equil? How about we fix the problem correctly the first time through so the issue doesn't need to be raised again.

Hello. Perhaps you remember me as the one who suggested the roleplaying server, lighted cantinas, etc. in last week's roundtable discussion. I do not know if my concerns have been addressed, for I am too lazy to go searching.

Anyway, I believe I had an excellent idea for encouraging players to get more involved in the Galactic Civil War (aka GCW). Why not provide faction-based professions?!

I'm not a tailor so i have no idea of the things that are coming up in there profession, but i was wondering if we could get some rougher looking clothes. I sometimes feel like everyone looks too clean. I want to look rough. I watched Attack of the clones tonight and there where tons of stuff they could draw from. Just a thought.

Why not just give the wookies their armour and be done with it then they can feel the pain of wearing armour that encumbers all your stats and means you have to take it off all the time. Also don't know about anyone else but the decays on items when you die is terrible, it's all well and good for older players when you have a lot of money to insure all the time but what about new players?

Just a thought I had (and this relates to bloodfin i don't know how it affects other servers) is there anyway you could stop the building of player cities withing so many km of dungeons? It seems that for the most part the sole purpose of them is to help guilds hog the best hunting spots. It gets annoying when you go to dungeons and all you can see in every players name is the same guild affiliation and to add to that it means that any solo players who head towards these places hoping to maybe find a group are completely ignored so it kills the social interaction side of the game. The excpetion to this rule I've found is Mos Entooine on Tattoine on bloodfin where it seems more like a city near a lair should be a place to rest after the hunt or to stock up on supplies, but then again it's not a guild owned city.

this will probably get lost in the flood of ther posts anyway and to be fair it's a minor winge compared to some other stuff mentioned in the thread.

A Strange bug i've noticed since i opened my 2nd account

I run the game on 2 PC's, they both have different external IP addressess.

When i'm in the same area, sometimes on one char (A)the other char (B)will comepletly dissappear (from the radar as well) - Eg if i'm trading it will suddenly say trade target %TT lost.

Strangely though, the other char (B)can still see char (A) and it appears on (B's) radar as per normal, if i try to trade from B->A , A never recieves the trade invitation.

Only Way to fix this (that i've found) is todisconnect and then log back in.

This often happens if there is a server boundary between your characters or nearby. It's a common bug in many towns that lie across server boundaries.

Please Fix the Item repair code..

I bugged this in Beta an still no fix..

you have successfully repaied your item but its maximum condition has been reduced..

yay I fixed it... looks at the item...... ARGGGH -175/800, min damage 0 max damage 0

Oh thats a fix is it?? come on all it takes is:-

Item current state = item maximum stat..

thats not a hard bit of code even my 12 year old nefew said it!

For further info on this BUG please get an item decay state to 0 then try fix it a few times, I think I have fixed successfully about 4 out of 20 that have said they where fixed. I am using 98% repair tools.

All I can say is I hope when your car gets a flat an you take it in to the machanic for a fix they arn't using your code

This Bug is one of the Biggest annoyances an easiest to fix in game an I keep bugging it an you keep ignoring it
