Thread: Should Force Sensitivity be a known path or a mysterious one? (II)

I wish it could be mysterious yet still make sense so that you could pursue it in a sensical way.

Sensical: Going to places like the jedi temple or obi wan's place to find clues.

Nonsensical: needing to talk to one of 10,000 NPCs standing around on 9 planets. The NPC would vary with each player.

Also nonsensical: proving that you've explored different parts of the game through having to MASTER random professions. But you know that already.

Unfortunately, if it's a sensical path, it won't stay mysterious for long.

It would be wonderful if you could become Force Sensitive without engaging in combat. It would be even more wonderful if you could be a jedi healer without having to engage in combat. Alas, that's unlikely to happen.

The path should be that of discovering one's previously unknown Force Sensitivity, not becoming FS. One should be able to hone one's Force Sensitivity in a variety of ways, not just combat.

I definatly think cap exp should have something to do with it when you become say a master doc you begin to accumulate "overtime" exp that only remains as long as you stick to that profession (to build up some profession loyalty)

once you get say 1 million extra exp and also collect certain items like a broken lightsaber a mysterious letter a old droid brain ect

you will receive a message about your teacher

Unlike the old system was originally there should be clues along the way. I don't feel however, that we should no exactly what to do. We should have to figure out some of it on our own.

I dont think it should be "random" there are so many jedi now theres no point on making it secret just to make it not fair for the new people and peeps still trying to get jedi. sure it should take awhile but dont make it impossibly hard.

you guys opened the floodgates to jedi, dont stop now and leave casual gamers in the dark.

Let it be known, the path to FS shouldnt be too bad, and you know with the boredom most have these days, everyone is going to swarm this stuff...

well i'd vote for no given specifics

BUT

make it quest driven, with the quests somehow related to the Starwars Universe. i don't want to have it to sum up to : bring 500 npc back home one by one, kill 3 millions nuna, craft 2 hundreds bowcaster, deliver 20 tons of datadisks over the galaxy, heal 3 billions damage points, reach 3000 PVP points. I want a GREAT QUEST with a SCENARIO TREE, with a timer between each chapter to feed up the grinders.

And for chrismas i'd like all current jedis to be erased, and everyone to start anew. Like everybody on the same bases.

thanks

This has probably been mentioned before but I ain't gunna read ALL the pages.

Just make it like everybody thought it was to start with back in the beginnning, just base it on the number of badges, say 75 badges and bingo your FS, U then get rewarded for expoloring, grinding, theme parks etc.

One of the biggest gripes with this game is the lack of rewards for the quests, just base it on badges and u have your reward for all the existing badges.

U could save some badges and do new badges as they come along for your second character's path to FS.

If u were asking this 12 months ago i would say make it totally unkown and mysterious, but the only reason I am still playing is for the FS quests, if I amrunning aroundblind again andI think I will never get it while every jedi is running around flashing his big glowing stick I will probably quit.

I got bored of the theme parks and didn't complete a lot that I started, don't see the point anymore, but if it went towards my FS character I would be doing them night and day.

Known, but very hard or time-consuming. Anything static or with a pattern will eventually become known and posted everywhere anyway, so there isn't much point to keeping it a secret. As long as it's involved, in-depth, and well-written, make it known. Heck, even if it isn't all those things.

JustG, we got screwed with holo grinding and that whole horrible system, give us a break and make the path in Pub 10 known.

You know JustG im glad you guys asked us this. I honestly feel force sensitivity shouldnt be a mystery and i will tell you why.
Not only were there means for a jedi to know someone was force sensitive by feeling, there were also medical tests. So anyone who really wanted to know could find out with a medical test.

That being said the path should be fun rewarding and long. Id like to see a quest based system thats easily found. Each quest SET should end with a force sensitive box, after 24 different quests it should unlock the slot and unlock the path to initiate. The very first quest should be the one to unlock your second slot, and make your MAIN character able to recieve Force sensitive abilities, and i have a reason for this. If we want to use a second slot to make a new jedi we should be able to do that without having to go thru 24 tough quests or more to unlock it. Seeings how we have to level that character up from scratch to be strong enough to get Force sensitive quests.

Hmm. In the pervious thread, I thought we were talking about how you acquire FS boxes, not a process you go through before you can even start on the FS boxes. (I presumed going from 24 boxes to jedi was another set of hoops to jump through).

So let me get this right. There are at least 2 of the following to become a jedi:

  1. a "path" to enabling force sensitivity
  2. acquiring FS boxes
  3. a "path" to go from 24 FS boxes to starting jedi

and we are talking only about number 1 here?

and effort wise: 1+2+3 = mastering 5 random professions?

What's your intention in terms of relative weights in effort for these three stages? Or does it matter?
