Devs to Merchants:

Sorry, we're too busy nerfing AT-ST's and making CH the uber rebel class to help you. Please restock all items every 45 minutes or you will lose them permanently with no compensation.

That is all

How scary is it that TH gives advice that will actually CAUSE the **edit** coding error to affect mroe people - I mean, stop smoking the funy stuff for a minute, items havent even been able to be on vendors for the new 30 day limit since the patch isnt that old!

Ironically, the best way to avert disaster is to do exactly the opposite of what TH says to do - DO NOT keep items listed from inventory on your vendor. Instead, pull the item then relist directly from the stockroom, which gives it a 1 week list time that you dont have to worry monitoring. These items will be unlisted after 7 days but will go back to stockroom and once again supply you an email (just like pre-patch). This does still work (I had a few items I did not pull from vendor when the patch went into affect - some combined disks that often get a name change for some reason when they are removed from a vendor - I replaced thesecombined disk sets directly from the stockroom and the few that did not sell went back to stockroom as predicted with the email notification).

What's the status of compensation for loss due to this bug? Most of us care about that as much, if not more, than actually fixing the issue. We can shutdown shops until you fix it, but we can't recover our losses.

Many merchants don't know exactly what was lost. Some lost 500 pieces of clothing, some lost huge stocks of various stat weapons, others lost large numbers of resources for sale from long ago shifts, but most merchants seemed to at most track their sales, and assumed their vendors would track their current stock. How do you compensate the tailor who lost 500 pieces of random clothing and bio engineered cloth, but can't list them in detail? That's what we're all wondering.

We'd like to know what kind of logging system you have on your deleted items, and if you can recreate everything vendor deleted over the past week. If not, can you roll the characters/vendors/etc back to the end of last week? Or at the very least, can you track roughly what was lost and try to compensate in some other manner, but consistently between all merchants? To ask us each to list things we know in a in game ticket is not going to work at this scale.

To players, your items, your equipment, your in game property...are just as important to you as your stats, skills, and character. They represent what you've managed to collect and create over your time in game. To a merchant class, this is doubly important. It's what our character focus upon. Can you imagine the outcry if all combat class characters lost all their weapons and armor and CHs lost all their pets? And then imagine that outcry when they've heard nothing about returning their items days later. That's what you're hearing from the crafters of SWG now.

you said that more politely than i could...

I am assuming that they wont bother to roll back the vendors or even try to fix our loses...

but still there is a bif IF hanging over us....since they dont tell us anything we really have no idea what is going on....

should we restock our vendors? what if there is a roll back to save the otehr items? will we lose the new ones....what if they can just make the items reappear somehow...will new items stocked cause the vendors to be over full and cause even more problems...

every day that goes by with no fix and silence from the devs only compound sthe problem and makes any type of real replacement harder and harder....

it is more than just losing a few items...it is more than being out a few million credits....the merch on my vendors represents my gameplay...it is like i had months of my time and effort just vanish through no fault of my own

Color or unique icons need to be put in for crafted items.
