I'm using XP latest Service Pack and all updates. Can't even access the forum with IE but it works fine with Opera 7.23

They'd get bored as hell doing that after a while, and then I'd be through with having conversations for the rest of my life."

Just for the record, too, the CSS is not working at all in Mozilla 1.4. There are all kinds of problems with it. See this for details.

Haden Blackman: It's definitely inspired everyone on the development team. We're very determined to capture the feel of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter titles. In many ways, we're looking at Jump to Lightspeed as "X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter" online - much of our focus is on that dogfighting experience.

Some of the thread counts in forums are so light its hard to see the color of the #'s. I like the new look its very professional but I dont know about the choice of light colors on a dark background...

I can't get the forums to use the default skin now. In my previous forum session, I tried the Imperial Crackdown skin to see what it looked like. I didn't like how dark the links were so I changed it back.

Now that I have returned to the forums, I am stuck in the Imperial Crackdown skin and it refuses to change back to the default skin. The links have changed to a gray instead of blue, so I may stick with this, but I would like the choice

This new skin is awful, as a web designer, I find it hard to believe it was professionally designed. I've always hated that this forum did the light-text-on-a-dark-background thing because that's harder to read than the more sane choice of putting dark letters on a light background. But now we've gone to much lower contrast light-text-on-a-dark-background, which is just ridiculous. And the white background of this new "write a post" screen is jarring to say the least.

The color choices are awful together. I mean, that dark red in the "new messages" column? Dark red on brown is not exactly the most legible combination. And worst of all, none of it really screams "Imperials!!!" to me. I'd think an Imperial skin would be mostly white with black text and maybe greys for the links. But brown? Bleh.

I'm going to switch my skin back to the earlier "slight eyestrain at times" version instead of the new "blinding makes my eyes bleed" one.

Would be nice in future SOE if that when you decide to change something you assume people will want to change their own settings and not force a change upon them that they then have to fix themselves.

The whole problem started when you did your forum maintenance yesterday and changed everyone's default skin to the Imperial one. I just got it working okay by deleting all my cookies and temporary files however that is extremely inconvenient as I know have to enter all my details again at various other websites again.

Please in future make changes but let us decide if we want to change the way things look, don't make those decisions for us.

I found a solution

The problem at least on mine is the Imperial Skin. I was able to swtich to the default skin at work and now everything works fine again on XP.

Unable to post new messages or replies with Mozilla Firebird 0.7 (Win XP Pro). This has cropped up only in the last 12-18 hours or so. Mousing over the reply button on threads or clicking on the button has no result. Microsoft IE 6.0 seems to work just fine. I have not had any problems with being unable to see threads.

I'm back up and running again, but I'd like to officially state my opinion on these Lithium-based boards:

Ok.

On my iBook, using a browser called Safari (basically Mozilla) the forums were broken for me yesterday. No checking PMs, unable to Reply, etc, though I could see all messages just fine. While on my Wintendo (WinXP and IE 6), everything was hunky dory.

Currently, on the "Mozilla" browser, all is well. Using the new skin, I have full functionality for the boards. Also, on the Wintendo, using the new skin, all is working perfectly.

I do find that the new skinto beawfully dark. It is difficult to see the line between stickied posts and the regular forum posts (though on my laptop, there is enough differentiation in color.. could be I have my monitor a bit on the dark side -- no pun! -- on my PeeCee).
