Thread: Publish 6 Feedback: Theme Park and NPC Quest Loot
to the person talking about Hutt faction....i dont think it can be reduced...i havent ever seen it go down...sometimes when you kill Jabba's guys you get negative Jabba and sometimes negative Hutt....i think what has happened is that the devs change the Factions over the past few months...ie Swoppers on Corellia ar now COrellian swoop gang or something... and they didnt update all the Jabba stuff correctly....the only "pure" Hutts i have ever seen are on Yanvin, Hutt Exploritory Group or something...i think its impossible to reduce hutt.
Kormund Thrylle is a rebel in Bestine hiding from the authorities. He has two mission that send you to speak with members of the alliance and give information for the first, and escort the alliance member back for the second. There is a problem though. Rather than being a rebel, or even just a regular person, both times you go out to meet the person it is a red-aggro "thug" faction person. Because my thug faction is -5k I had to /peace and run away to shake aggro, then get back to about 70m away and /conv to be able to complete the quests. The rewards of rebel faction were nice, but the contacts need to actually be rebels, or at least non-aggressive "townspeople" that all of us good rebels can freely talk to.
i reset the world quest after i voted....do i have to do those silly vote missions again...
where is the information....
instead of spending his time informing players of anything we have one sided conversations while TH explains the importance of hugging and singing Kumbaya to the pissed of droid engineers.
Where is the communication?
Although I'm sure it's already been said by someone on this thread, repeating this point can only help to drive it home to the devs:
Improving the loot for the static quests is only half of the problem. The other half of the problem is that they are still boring. I'm sorry but the quest content in this game is just not interesting and not nearly plentiful enough. Mission terminal missions don't count. Aside from uninteresting story lines, quests often don't match up mechanically with their story content. In the rebel themepark, for example, I'm supposed escort a crashed pilot back to base. Not only is he located so close to base that it makes no sense to require an escort, but there is no sign of a crashed X-wing anywhere around him (having a crashed X-wing as a POI spawn for this mission would greatly improve the suspension of disbelief and the fun of the quest). Many should also be longer, and include missions with multiple stages like the latest publish. In fact, if each arc of the themepark quests (i.e. C3PO, then Wedge Antilles, then Leia, then Nien Nunb, etc.) were about on par with the latest monthly arc, then it would be about as good as it should be.
What SOE needs to do is hire a staff to go through all the missions in the game, re-write the fiction in many of them to be more interesting, and require re-coding for many of them to be more concordant with the fiction of the mission. When the current assortment of quests is fixed/improved, then this team should stay on to continually write new permenant mission content to be patched in with major publishes (monthly story arcs are not enough). At least one or two new, complete quests should be included with every major publish (and I seriously doubt that one or two every month and change is more than a small team of writers and programmers can handle).
I just finished up the Rebel Theme Park last night. I was happy with the loot and the rewards. I do however have a few questions:
1.) What are Luke and Co. doing at the Exar Kun Temple? Is this EU stuff? I thought I would find them at the Massassi Temple... but that was full of Imps.
2.) When I did Luke's last two missions I had a "creature cage" in my inventory. If you read the text and know a little EU you can tell that this is supposed to be a holocron. Can we please have this fixed?
3.) I was disappointed that nothing happened once I completed the park. How about somemusic? Or at least some text telling you about the theme park badge?
The voting cycles are way too long. I don’t like doing a quest then waiting a long, unknown amount of time to keep going back to a character for an item I may or may not get. I like the idea of the voting quests but I’d like A) to know how long before the voting cycle will end and B) to have said cycle be in a reasonable amount of time. Like one or two days max, but preferably every 4 hours.
A few other things....
There's a static NPC in Mos Entha (can't recall his name, but he's in the section of town naer the starship cantina where three or four jabba goons hang out). He only has a few quests that give you rebel faction, but on his last quest, he says he is giving you something that once belonged to a slave girl who wasn't as fortunate as the ones I had helped free. And I received nothing in my inventory.
The person who gives the quests that result in the bol skull trophy stands near the guild hall across the street from Watto's junk shop. There's usually an AT-ST near the guy who gives the missions.
It would have been nice if the NPC in the starship cantina in Mos Entha had given me something other than a non-descript nargalon for my final rewards, which is no different than the one that a mastetr musician can make me. Even something different in the title and/or description of the item would have helped.
I got the same message from Lady Valarian's first goon about not having enough of a reputation to do the Valarian quests. I then proceeded to the Jabba cave/stronghold and went from +250 to +5000 valarian faction rather quickly *grin* Upon returning, I was able to do the quests with only my vibro-blade equipped, although I got the "This quest is beneath you. Are you sure you want to do it?" message for each one.
LOVED the ancient holo-map quest for the scythe blade schematic. *grin* Allura's last words were "So THAT'S what a canyon krayt looks like...." Good thing I was quick enough and suspicious enough to have looted that treasure box FAST when Ol' Scaley showed up for dinner.
Other than that...I'm actually having rather a good time going from city to city on Tatooine, re-doing all the quests and finding ones that weren't available before. Now, if they keep this up (one or two planets having their quests revamped) in each publish, I'll be a very happy camper. I won't have any room left in my house for more trinket, but I'll be VERY happy about that. *grin*
What and where are the dantooine quests? Also i did all the quests post patch but they are bugged for me and I got no loot. Will the recordkeeper still start me over?
