Wow. Better get those eyes checked.
Look, both types oftransport will have their place. If you read the article, you would see that vehicles take damage and need to be repaired...also, the speeder bikes are rather delicate. Perdue, my carrion spat, is a tough guy! I also don't see using a "motor vehicle" for combat...the accuracy is probably horrible, whereas mounted combat is doable.
Plus, I'll wager that vehicles need some sort of fuel...much like droids require batteries. Or at least they should.
Before mocking them out, give them a chance to demo in Test. If they "suck", oh well.
But I know I'm very pleased with my creature mount and if the vehicle video is accurate, will be happy with the vehicles as well.
Thats why I said nevermind a few messges after that one.. After I saw how slow the vehicles are gonna be in the video.. That looks like foot burst run speed to me..
So put that slow speed along with damage together and that they can only be called and storedat garages.. and i don't think they're gonna be too useful.

Trust me, they're not. It's an optical illusion. They have their field of view pushed out real far so everything appears to be moving faster than it actually is. They did the same thing when they did the video on mounts. And you can do the same thing right now with your client. You can make just running around on foot 'look' fast.
And need i remind you the devs said that mounts run faster than normal foot running too.. and we know how fast that is....
Actually pulling them out and making the feild of view larger makes them look slower as you see a lot more of the terrain and therefore it looks like it is going by slower. If they wanted to make it look faster they would go into First Person where things are swooshing by at fast speeds. Take a look at the FP view from the speeder on Endor. It looks faster than any other clip in the game. It's like leaning forward on your bike when you pedal. You see more of the ground in front of you so it looks like you're going faster than you are.
And im sorry but any moron who can't tell that Mounts are faster than being on foot is an idiot with nothing better to do then complain. Quit already. Please.
Start running in first-person perspective. Note approximately how fast you seem to be moving.
Zoom back until you are about halfway zoomed-out in 3rd person. Now note how much slower you seem to be moving.
Zoom all the way back out. Note that you now appear to be moving at a relative crawl.
You see? It's perspective. You are essentially judging the speed of your movement by the speed at which the background is zooming past. If you suddenly zoom back into 3rd person, the background is going to stand still for a little bit. It will seem as if you have stopped moving. But your character has kept moving...it's just that the background, relative to your perspective, has stopped.
Ok, so tonight, I can't get some harvesters to work unless I trade them to other people, then I can't even turn off a harvester that is out of power. Oh, and I have a house that I can't reed deed because it says there are two items in it and the commands they put in to remedy this have no effect. Then, the first thing I see when I'm trying to figure out where to post this mess is: "IGN Vehicle Video". I don't mean to whine, but I think perhaps, just perhaps, it would be a wise move if SOE directed all of this talent towards fixing existing bugs in the game before adding new content. Just a suggestion.
