of courses theres a way to tell. sheesh you lose faction points per enemy deathblow... so include EFOUR LOST 22 FACTION THEREFORE IM GUESSING EFOUR WAS KILLED BY A REBEL IN PVP ?! THEREFORE DONT DECAY HIS 1337 ARmOur, does that just sound to easy to anyone?
i dunno about you but between natural acumulated damage to my armour, the 50/50 chance of actually repairing it AND the "oh crap 11% effect slice, better buy some more!" Armour smiths on my server seem to be doing a flipping huge ammount of business...
Clothes.... why not just make them decay at .5% per death?! or 1%
well for what its worth i now have 30 days left on the account, no doubt ill spend 7 of those doing all of the exciting new content publish 6 has to offer and then the rest....... bored as usual
cannot wait 3 months for new PvP content and balancing.

Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part, but I made a mistake in the last paragraph of the Friday Feature.
It currently reads:
The Little Things: The little things matter as much as the big things. There were many sound upgrades, improvements to the graphic user-interface and even a few minor activities for players to find. Many POI's and places where NPC's interact with each other (or NPC theaters). One of the "biggest little" things with this publish will be the removal of "insured decay" from the death penalty. Instead of having a 1% decay for items, players will have no decay as long as they have insurance.
It is being changed to:
The Little Things: The little things matter as much as the big things. There were many sound upgrades, improvements to the graphic user-interface and even a few minor activities for players to find. Many POI's and places where NPC's interact with each other (or NPC theaters). One of the "biggest little" things with this publish will be the removal of "insurance" from the death penalty in Player versus Player combat.Players will no longer have to insure their items after each death in PVP.
The reason is because there is no way to tell the difference between a "PvP Death" and a "PvE Death".I will continue to try and get the development team to remove the 1% decay with insurance. (Any good ideas from you folks for an alternative might help).
I sincerely apologize.
Garva is always looking out for you guys and mentioned that it was still a little confusing.
He rephrased it and it sounds better like this...
Ok so this is what you mean...
There will still be a 1% decay penalty in pvp death but you will not have to re-insure after that death.
This is correct and clearer I hope. ![]()

Good lord...everytime i get excited about a dev change...poof..it's gone. There is NO need for death to decay your items when you insure them. Anyone who says otherwise hasnt paid millions for clothes\armor.

that decay needs to go away completely
stuff decays enough without it

I was actually going to start PvP'ing after this patch because I along with everyone I know was under the assumption that there would be NO decay on items when you insure them...Yes death would still eat up your creds on insurance...BUT it wouldnt cost you a suit of armor every 100 deaths or so. I mean in real life you insure things to make certain they are the same way as you insured them in case something happens.

I'm not sure I understand any of this TH. If there's no way to tell the difference between PvP and PvE death what exactly is changing from the way things are now? You're saying that Insurance == 1% decay for any death, how is that different from what we have now? Am I just not reading things correctly?
