Thread: Buf bots alive and well.
I think, over time, entertainers will begin to spread out again, like in the good old days, to all the outlying cantinas. And people will gradually realize they don't have to go to CNet or MO to get any buffs at all. They can drop in at any conveniently located cantina and grab a quick buff,a relaxing dance or songand if they are lucky enough to find an ATK, a friendly chat as well.
Once they realize the buffbots are nerfed and they can get that buff from anyone, for free! the bots will lose their allure. And they will become rare as well. Bot accounts are dying faster than mobs in a newbie yard.
Give it some time.
Give it a bit of time. With no credit income any more they're not going to keep paying that extra $15 and will no longer be "necessary" to the combat people who tipped them previously. And ask me how entertained I am every time I remember that their mains probably spent those millions on DOT pikes to BH with?
What worries me is that instead of respeccing into merchants or other mules (nothing against merchants of course, just that it's one of the other "unplayed" profs), they'll lie dormant with skills in tact until such time as entertainers have a marketable skill again. So when SOE says future skills will be "ATK only," they better make a good system for it. :/
I honestly wouldn't worry about this too much. I think as time goes on, more and more will leave because they really have no purpose or need in the game anymore. No more will be made. People will laugh at them for spending an extra $15 for such a small benefit that you can get everywhere. Business will drop, even at the MO. On Kett, the two bots are still there as well, but one thing I did notice is they weren't spamming anymore. So that's good. ![]()
It's going to take time. It took time for the bots to get to the state they're in now. It'll take some time for their ranks to thin out. They will eventually all leave because they'll realize how useless they are and how idiotic it is to pay $15 a month to provide their so-called "goodwill" service to a public that doesn't need them anymore.
And, there's one other thing. Even the bots who stay out of spite and hatred for real entertainers, or need attention because they were deprived of it in their childhood will eventually leave. The truth is, every time a noob joins the game, we now have the upperhand because we are there. We can talk and perform for them. We can tell them about our benefits. We can make fun of the bots and how stupid they are. We can condition people to have a good time with us and enjoy the Cantina again. The bots will soon be spending $15 a month to stand there wiggling their butt and looking stupid.
The bots *will* go.
I cried a river. Really. LOL.
