The answer is no. Transferring does the same checks placing it does.
Besides master dancer and musician, master chef can place it for less skill point investment, especially since you've already got novice artisan I presume.

I run a large business and would like to open up a cantina. The only problem is that I'm not a master dancer/musican and my alt is an armorsmith/smuggler which isn't going to change. I have to keep a combat profession and some ranger so that I can hunt down hides and such. It doesn't look like I'll be getting an alt anytime soon.
The question is, "Can I have a master dancer place the cantina and transfer it to me?"
Does anyone know? Some say yes. Some say it's not possible.

What happens to a cantina if the dancer that placed it drops dancer?

I was wondering, as its on a similer subject, can they be transferred to non-Master Dancer/Musician/Chef?

No, they can only be transferred to a master of the profession you listed. Same with the med center, can only be transferred to a master doc.

I've decided to drop all of my entertainer skills. I don't feel that the entertaining business is for me anymore, I've found that all I like is the sparkley ribbons these days. Anyway, I have a cantina that has served as my shop for all my clothes as well as my dancing area. I have about7 thousand items on all my vendors between the sale items and stockroom, and I'm definitely not excited about moving all of that off-planet, or even next door. Sooo.. was just wondering if anyone here knows what happens when you own a cantina/theater and then you drop master dancer/musician? I don't think it'll delete the cantina, will it? It does just say "place cantina", not "own cantina". But then again, you can only transfer the structure to someone who is MD or MM. So should I start packing or do you think it will stay in my posession?

you get to keep the cantina.

I will verify this. You can drop all your skills and still keep your cantina. Its what I did when I changed my skills to a new toon.
