Thread: Please help! Questions concerning mind buffs?
Keizersoze wrote:
First, I would like to say that I just started grinding entertainer so I can make my alt a buffbot (he is currently a master doc). I wonder if it is better to go master dancer or 4000 dancer and 4000 musician so I can buff all the mind related pools. Since I am new to your profession I could use your assistance with the following questions:
1) Can someone explain the difference in buffs that could be obtained from a 4000 dancer as opposed to a master dancer? (i.e. length/power of mind buff)
2) Does anyone withdanicing mind enhancement clothing have input on how those skill mods help in the buffing process (i.e. is it worth going after them?)
3) What do you actually have to do (i.e. command wise) to get the best possible buff (highest power/duration)?
***Any helpful macros to assist in grinding, buffing, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks everyone... Keysersoze (Bloodfin)
Hmmm.... how to put this the most diplomatically....
Buffbots aren't very popular 'round these here parts. See, they give away our services for free (making it evenmore difficult for us to earn a living), and turn the profession that we love into NPC's.
Assuming I read and understoodyour post correctly - you would like us to help you build a buffbot to take away our business, and a bit more of the respect of our profession?
I hope I misunderstood your intent here... I'll allow for that possibility. I've re-read it several times, and that's what it sounds like you're asking us to help with. I could be wrong... it is very late where I am.

That is all well and fine, Keizersoze - however, there are easily a few hundred such buffbots ingame now created to do just what you mentioned. Each and every one of them takes away from those of us who actually want to play the game as performers.Live entertainer playersbecome obsolete andour ingame profession becomes stale and useless because there are now player created NPCs to playthe game for us.
You could have easily found the information you are looking for by taking the time and the inititive of doing a little "search" on the forum. This is part of the problem - too many players dont want to "waste" time. Everything has to be handed to them with as little effort as possible on their part. Did you know that there is alsoa similarly helpful resource in the game under the player tab. Can't find a dancer at the end of your fingertips? Do a "search". Yes, it takes a few precious seconds away from missions, but you might be surprised by what you find. You can also check out the Dancer's List which is stickied on this forum for a list of dancers on your sever who willingly provide buffs when asked nicely (the Musician Forum has one, as well). Many servers have entertainer chat channels that you can join in order to contact someone for buffs and heals.
There ARE ways to avoid having to create your own buffbot, and give back to the game community by interacting with other players - specifically entertainers. Players talk about time sinks . . . well opening up a second account for the sole purpose of creating a buffbot is a MONEY sink - and I'm not referring to pretend credits, but cold hard-earned cash. Do all of us a favor, yourself included, and rethink your position. Instead of hurting the entertainer profession, help it - by letting us help you.

Ok...perhaps I used the wrong word here. What I meant is that I am a master doctor and I'm trying to get master dancer or maybe a dancer/musician combo. This character will be for my own personal use...not a buffer for the public or afk buffer. I meant my own personal buffbot. Sorry about that
I might help out by buffing some guildies in my player town, but that's the extent of my services. I mainly need this character to buff my Jedi and master rifle/CH characters that I usede to fight with. Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes here...
Most live Dancers will travel to buff Jedi because we know you have to play in "super secret" mode. Most Dancers will also travel to buff their friends once you get to know them. Normally your only expense will be paying for their travel ticket. Any tip you give beyond that is usually paid back in further future dedication to keeping you healthy, mind buffed, and entertained.
Try these people:
Ajami Moonflier
Voce Osh'ly
Sokina Turistan
Ixathra Tarkona
Ceta
Chiaa Ovewi
The non-bots will be the travelers.
