I once tried with a flourish every 10 seconds and could do the 2 hour buff in 8 minutes. If it was only 1.5h for you, the buffer most likely didn't flourish ever 10 but only ever 15 secs or so.
If you do constant flourishing (is capped at 5 flourishes per 10 second, so doesn't matter if no /pause or /pause 2) you can do the 2h buff in 3:10 minutes.

Well, actually, kinda. heh... I agree that pre-patch flourishing 1 per every 10 secs did get you the full duration in 8 mins. I noticed that it was taking 10 mins after the patch hit test. Which was what made me think the 2 minute timer was a dead time (along with confusing Dev talk)... after testing it more, I saw that the "over flo" methods were not affected at the minimum time. I still don't know why this was changed and in fact the Dev replies that I have gotten on it hint that I am talking crazy (I don't see how I could be with so many other Dancers saying the same thing, but *shrug*).
Anyway! Tiaga has done a very nice break down of how the numbers are working now. I can confirm that this is in line with my testing post-patch.
